Classic Pastrami sandwich with bacon, swiss and mustard.

One of the best Pastrami sandwiches I've ever had, and the owners ( a couple ) were super sweet and nice. If you like pastrami, you'll love this place! Ph, and their bread was amazing too!

SERVICE: counter style, fast AMBIANCE: cozy, super nice family-owned place FLAVORS: Half Reuben on a roll with American, LIGHT kraut (5/5) - light kraut makes ALL the difference because a little goes a long way. PORTIONS: filling and hearty PRICE: appropriate BONUS TIP: restroom is outside around the side, ask for key?

This place is a hidden, local gem in Rocklin for all of my pastrami fans! They're run by a small family who are so friendly and kind. Every time I've come in, I've had such a fun conversation with the staff/owner. Let's talk food: The pastrami here is SOLID. Now it's not "cheap", but what pastrami is? It's a thin cut pastrami and they're generous with portions. I'm a big fan of the Reuben but you can't go wrong either way. I appreciate how simple the options are. It's a no frills shop and menu, but they do it well. Highly recommend. Pls come support this local business!

This place is spectacular! I stopped after a long day of driving. I was greeted by a delightful man who loved his products and his job. Since it was my first visit, he reviewed the options with me. I left with my hands full of goodness and my heart filled with his good energy. After my first bite I knew I needed to leave a review. The pastrami was fresh, the bread was soft and every bite was made to perfection. I will be back!

A must try! We tried the Ruben! 10/10 Pastrami was deliciousss & I am typically not a pastrami lover but this hit the spot Bread- super fresh Definitely get that Russian sauce! Got the cherry peppers on the side & added some to the sandwich & it was even better. They were super nice & welcoming from the moment we stepped in the door. Tight place to sit but plenty of parks nearby. Going on my list of top take out sandwiches

Does The Pastrami Shop make their own pastrami?

I asked them where they source their pastrami, and they told me they make it themselves. They also bake their own french rolls and make their own russian dressing.

I've never seen food move through me with such speed and determination. Let's just say the bowl made a return appearance faster than I expected, and it wasn't pretty. To be fair, there are currently public health warnings about certain produce, including vegetables, berries, and cilantro, so I can't say with certainty what caused it. If any of those ingredients were involved, that could be the culprit. Either way, this restaurant should take a hard look at its ingredients, suppliers, and food safety practices to make sure everything they're serving is fresh and safe. The bowl tasted fine going down, but the aftermath was unbearable. I hope this was an isolated incident, but no customer should be spending the next hour making emergency trips to the bathroom after a meal. I sincerely hope the restaurant investigates and ensures their ingredients are safe, because this experience was one I'd rather never repeat.

My initial visit I ordered from their "vintage" menu. I got Erik's B.L.A.S.T. with bacon, Arcadian lettuce, avocado, clover sprouts, Secret Goo and tomato on toasted sourdough. They accidentally forgot the clover sprouts on my order. I love sprouts, so I was a bit disappointed when I realized they were missing. However the sandwich was great so it didn't ruin the meal. I loved their special tuna sandwich, called the Ocean Avenue, which was a delicious concoction. Made with tuna salad, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, clover sprouts, and sweet hot mustard on swirl rye bread. The ingredients were all fresh & tasty. Another winner I just consumed was the Ciao Down, made with the softest Dutch Crunch I've ever eaten. I appreciated having the roof of my mouth intact! The combination of ingredients (salami, turkey, Swiss, tomato, onions, clover sprouts, basil pesto) gave me salty, vinegary, sour, and savory, with just a mild spicy kick from the hot cherry peppers. Whatever you do, don't skip the carrot cake! It is the best carrot cake I've ever had. I actually wondered if they outsourced it, but it turns out it's a proprietary family recipe. Made with carrots, pineapples, cream cheese frosting, and walnuts. It tastes homemade and perfectly balanced.

Disappointing Experience Due to Food Safety Concern…read more I visited this restaurant on Wednesday for lunch. This was actually my second time dining here. My first visit was pleasant, which is why I decided to come back. This time, I ordered what I believe was the tri-tip steak wrap. As I was finishing the first half of my wrap, I noticed a dead fly in my food. Needless to say, I was shocked and immediately lost my appetite. I walked to the front and asked to speak with a manager. The cashier who helped me was very friendly and professional. I explained the situation to her, and she relayed it to the manager. While I do appreciate that they refunded my meal, what disappointed me most was the manager's response. He never came over to speak with me, apologize, or acknowledge the situation directly. From where I was standing, he appeared visibly disturbed when informed, but he simply instructed the cashier to issue a refund and never addressed me as the customer. I understand that mistakes happen and that it was a busy lunch rush. However, finding a fly in a meal is a serious food safety issue, and I believe a manager or owner should take a moment to personally speak with the customer, show concern, and offer an apology. A little empathy would have gone a long way. The refund was appreciated, but the lack of acknowledgment and customer care left a much stronger impression than the refund itself. Unfortunately, after this experience, I'm hesitant to return.

It is rather tiny on the inside with only three tables of two. So if you are wanting to sit and eat, you need to be a small party, or take your food with you to go. Thankfully there was plenty of room when we arrived for our party of three. Their decor is cute with plenty o goose to view, as well as their baked goods. Since it was our maiden voyage here we did ask the nice gal who was at the register for a couple of recommendations which we took. The hubster tried the Ham and Peach Grilled Cheese, the MIL did the Pick Two which included a half Rosemary Chicken Sandwich and the Strawberry Poppyseed salad, I also got the Pick Two and chose half Citrus Club Sandwich and the Street Corn Cesar salad. Everything was made fresh to order and was incredibly tasty! The hubster and I also shared a Cherry Limeade Summer Sipper which was divine. We decided we could not leave with out taking a few goodies with us for later. So we bought a Lemon Bar, a Blackberry Cheesecake Bar, and a Chocolate Sea Salt Shortbread.
