A friend and I were in Rensselaer looking for a place to have lunch and found this restaurant. It was about 15 minutes north of Rensselaer. We called ahead to make sure we didn't need to be members or buy a day pass. We didn't. It was a great find. We both got the fried shrimp and it was excellent. It was casual which was great because we weren't dressed up at all. The staff were friendly and helpful. I'm guessing this will be our go to lunch spot whenever we are in Rensselaer. read more

What a beautiful venue. We recently went to a wedding here. The ceremony was outside and was gorgeous. The grounds, plants, etc just looked beautiful. There was a ton of room too. And the part of the venue that is underneath a canopy is even more breathtaking. There was a lot of wood and stone so that made it easy for the bride and groom to customize their decorations with whatever theme they chosed. There was a bar there and a nice set up for desserts. On one side, not under the canopy, there was a fire pit with chairs around it. I would have loved to sit around it but it was raining on and off so unfortunately the seats were wet. There was a restaurant next to this place but they made several announcements that we were not to go in there for the use of bathrooms. The bathrooms were down a trail. It was a little dark and a little slippery on the way. We took a shuttle bus there but there was plenty of parking. read more
