Fun venue! It's on the smaller side, but they have a lot to offer! The bar and food staff were awesome and super friendly. The drawback is that it's an absolute nightmare to leave. First time to this venue in about 15 years. Not much has changed. They do offer a Premier parking area which did seem to get us in and out more quickly. The show was great...Coral Reefer Band and the Doobie Brothers were both fantastic! Food choices are limited and pretty much suck. Chicken tenders, pizza, soft pretzels and a "Mosh" burger that should have been called a mush burger because the texture was weirdly mushy. Probably a lot of filler. Over priced food and drinks. Expect to pay $40 a person for a beer and burger or tenders and fries. Restrooms were large and clean with no lines. And the staff were super nice and helpful. Just want to start off my saying that my review below is in no way reflective of any performance or artist and is purely reflective of the venue itself. Getting in: Fairly easy. There are plenty of attendants pointing cars to their respective lots. No issues. Food/Drink: Ok options. Typical. Tenders, fries, burgers. Outrageous prices. The one chicken hut completely ran out of sauces at the beginning then said they were going to refund us... still waiting for that refund. Bring an empty water bottle and refill for free at a fill station. Don't pay the outrageous drink prices. Getting out: Absolute nightmare. Low lighting and cars in every direction. They absolutely need a better system. It was absurd. Would I go back... hmm... maybe for a must-see artist. That's it. It's not worth the hassle. read more

I have avoided attending concerts here because the traffic mess is legendary. But Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson, I'm in. We had a premium parking pass and that really helped speed the entry and shorten the walk from the parking lot. There are lines for everything, buying tee shirts, bathroom, and food and drinks. To their credit, they had a small army of staff, but lines were still long. If you bring a water bottle, you have to empty it at the gate, but if you keep the bottle, you can refill it for free on the inside. The seats were comfortable, and there was ample leg room. Seats were more desirable if you could sit under the roof, otherwise you baked in the sun until the sun went down. The sound wasn't very good for one band, but for Willie Nelson, it was spectacular. read more

Wednesday night I went to the Pitbull and Tpain concert. Getting in was no problem but getting out was the absolute opposite. Luckily I didn't have to be at work the following day so my friend and I chilled out. This is also my first time in the lawn and I'm hooked. I mean the pavilion is the go-to music spot for Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas. It is a great venue. It has ample seating on the lawn and even seating for a little bit more in actual chairs. The parking situation is atrocious and getting in and out is always a headache. But totally worth it for a good band. Do I like coming here, not at all. Went to see Tyler Childers and had a blast! The venue is well maintained and sound quality was excellent. I read horror stories about getting in and out of the venue, but honestly, it was normal concert traffic. Pack your patience when arriving and leaving. When i arrived for the judas priest concert i had discovered that some one had taken our tickets on line and resold them. The people at the boxoffice went above and beyond trying to help us and find out who had taken the tickets. They could not recover my tickets but they found out who bought them and how. They had given us three more tickets as to not miss the show. Of course the could not give me the front row tickets I had but the gave us prettty good tickets. The did not have to do this but they did and I really appreciated all of their help and concern. They were awesome! From the girl who drove us in a golf cart to the box office to the lady in the box office who did all the sleuthing for us. Thank you!!! read more

Drove four hours to go see Noah Kahan as this was the closest show. I truly had so much fun and had a great experience! We got there two hours before doors opened so that way we weren't rushing around to get into the venue & weren't screwed when it came to parking, as we had lawn seats. We also got extremely lucky to get end spots, so leaving was a breeze. We were out of there in 45 minutes! Overall, I think having another entrance/exit would highly benefit the venue, but sound is great and you can rent two chairs for the lawn for $30, which personally I think is a great deal. Star lake is one of those venues that if I planned on going to a concert here, it better be someone I really want to see and be the closest option. As it is quite a drive and next time I would get VIP parking as I know not a lot of people were as lucky as I was & idk if I would have that type of luck again read more

I attended the Noah Kahn concert on 05/29/24. If I could leave a lower review, I would. The parking for the venue is horrid since most parking is in a vast open field with no organization. When leaving the concert, there was only one exit and no one to direct traffic towards the back of the field, which led to a ginormous traffic jam. I was stuck in traffic for over an hour and a half and was NOWHERE near the exit. I understand that concerts will have traffic jams, but there needs to be a better system to prevent such things from happening. read more

I made my triumphant return after eight years to Star Lake for the Styx, REO, Loverboy show. Little has changed in eight years. Entry is a nightmare, departure unless you are in preferred or VIP is an equal nightmare and everything in between is average or better. Employees are friendly but not overly efficient. General parking had an easy walking entrance into the venue. I took in many shows at Star Lake in the late 1990s early 2000s. It is what it is. Leaving the parking lot has been an issue for 30 years and no one cares. Acoustics are decent. If you care about the performer, just show it, and buy a pavilion seat. read more

Oh Star Lake, how I have a love/hate for you. Attended Dead and Co. The show and the staff, all very wonderful and a 10/10. The frustration I have is with the parking, entrance, and exit. If you have not been, this venue has one way in and one way out. You either park in the top lot (where we parked due to an alternate route via Google maps due to traffic) or drive up towards and past the venue to more parking. The direction you come from often determines which lot you're directed towards. I believe premium parking was $70 on site. With the one way in/ out, expect to wait on the road to get to the lots as well as another wait on foot to get into the venue once you make your way to the gate. We unfortunately couldn't head to the venue early as I worked until 5, so the show had started before we got through the gate. When leaving, it took 30 minutes of sitting in our car before we were able to get out of the upper lot at the end of the show. Bring a cooler with snacks and Gatorade for after the show to help the time pass and to refuel for the ride home. Lines inside are long as well - for merch, food, bathrooms, drinks - you name it. Highly advise if you want merch - to get in line as soon as you can to avoid the lines. You can bring an empty water container in and they have self-serve refill stations - bring your Nalgene. Also it's helpful that they have a sizable clear bag policy or size of hand bag policy, that is pretty standard of late. Go see the shows. Embrace your inner zen while waiting in all the lines. read more

I was first in line with a fast pass. Was supposed to get in 5 min early. Our gate didn't let anyone in until 15 min after 3. Other gates had already let folks in. I wasted the money for fast pass. The people handing out the lawn chairs were not there to give out the pre paid chairs. Ridiculous. My thoughts are I won't come here again. Came here to see a Hozier concert. Getting in wasn't bad- lots of people directing and pretty organized. The food and drinks are extremely overpriced, which is normal for venues but still ridiculous. The lawn "seats" were definitely oversold- it was impossible to even find a spot for me and my friend to sit. Finally, all the organization went out the window when leaving. I skipped the entire encore (last four songs) in an attempt to get out smoothly, as I had heard so many bad things, but it did not work. It took me an hour and a half to just get out of parking, most of which was spent in the same spot I parked my car. Staff was directing the VIP Parking lot only, and completely ignoring the general parking lot until about an hour after I got to my car, and when they finally showed up, I saw one worker directing right near the road and nobody trying to help organize the mess happening further back on the field. I greatly enjoyed the concert portion and it would be a wonderful venue if these problems did not exist. However, due to the parking issues alone, I doubt I'll ever be back. read more

Convenient to hotels, smaller in scale, but great in featured acts. 4 places to buy merchandise, multiple entry areas. Only thing that was a hassle for some was the no cash policy- if you didn't know that and only have cash that would suck. I bought a ladies two pretzels because she didn't have a card. Cash should always be accepted- germs or not, wear gloves. It's currency. Water comes in a can Spring or Mountain (still) - Liquid Death, "Murder Your Thirst". I have to say, great marketing! This was my first time at starlake. It was horable getting into the venue. People were rude, It was very hot so I upgraded to the Cabana. Thank god I did so. I thought it would at least have fan since it said air conditioning. Here it was just the bathrooms. I meet Haylee and Nikki. They was great they went above and beyond what they should be doing as cleaner's. They was sweating with a smile on there faces. I asked if I could leave them a tip and they both said no it there job. They deserve so much more. They are highly trained and great at there jobs. There bathroom was very clean. They also wiped off tables and throw away trash as soon as people left. They also helped a handicap man and a older woman. I just want to bring it to attention that everyone should be trained like these two young lady's. But than I found it was a mother and daughter team. ( The concert was very good the food was pricey) But the customer service in the Cabana because these two lady's I will always upgrade. Thank you for who ever trained these lady's they are very good at there jobs. THANKS FOR KEEPING STARLAKE CLEAN. This venue is always a great place to see a band. $50 for premier parking and free for general admission. I always plan to leave the concert early - if there is an encore to beat the traffic if I park in general admission because otherwise - traffic is horrendous if you leave just as the concert/event is over. Buying VIP (Premier) parking does help minimize the traffic but still some. I have noticed a few enhancements over the years such as more food and beverage vendors were added to minimize the lines. It's nice to have the option to rental chairs too instead of standing during any concert (if you are in the lawn). The last couple shows I attended the gates always opened later than expected. I can't remember the last time I waited in line for the restroom.. in and out in enough time - not to miss your favorite song ! The food is "meh". The only thing that I have gotten and liked are the fries. It's fun to walk around and I noticed at the last show I attended the lawn was really kept nice. If you plan on coming out to a show .. food and drinks are pricey but still a great venue to see your favorite band. read more

DEFINITELY eat before you go (we forgot to pick up food and the selection inside is horrible - I'm okay with paying a bit more for food at a venue and understand that's how it goes, but there's no selection here). It feels like when you're driving in there that you're gonna have to walk forever to get in, but the free parking is actually really close since there are entrances on both sides. I don't see any reason to buy VIP parking. They allow tailgating and pretty much everyone gets there early to do so. Getting through security was painless. They allow backpacks, lawn chairs, and some food and water. We got lawn tickets and the sound was great, but they never turned on the screens on the side during the show, so we couldn't really see well. They had them on for commercials in between sets only. Overall, the venue is okay. It kind of felt abandoned at times because only half of the vendors were open, but they still pretty much had everything you needed. I gave it a 3 because of the screens and overall everything was average...nothing really to write home about and nothing really to complain about. read more

I'm happy that others have come here to voice their concerns about the parking lot after the sold out Lana Del Rey concert on 10/3. I gave two stars only because I was pleasantly surprised how fast the lines for food and drink went, and that I never had to wait in line for the restroom. That being said: be prepared to either fork out $75 for the VIP parking, or sit in traffic so awful it takes you 3 hours just to get out. I had never been there before so I hadn't known how bad the lot was or I would've paid the extra to save myself and my brother our sanity. Not a single employee was directing traffic anywhere other than at the exit. People were cutting other people off, driving through barricades, and even backing into each other. This venue exit needs to be revised. What would happen in the event of an emergency? Only one way in and out? Seems very dangerous. read more

The venue is great in general, tons of parking space, you feel surprisingly close to the stage no matter where you're at (this means that people sit/stand very close to each other, I'd rather sit close to a fellow fan and be closer to the artist than the opposite). My biggest issue with this venue was leaving the parking lot. There's only one entrance and one highway out to the rest of the world. It would've been acceptable if we had to wait for 30 minutes to an hour, but having to wait almost 3 hours with no notice from any employees how to get the hell out of the parking lot was terrible! After 2 hours, people were becoming so aggressive with their driving that they were cutting each other off. I had to keep within a couple inches of the next car to prevent other cars continuing to cut me. What if there was an emergency? Services wouldn't be able to get in and help. The venue should certainly collaborate with the town/city to create a detour route of some sort to evacuate the parking lot efficiently because waiting for 3 hours is not acceptable. read more

The amphitheater itself is very nice, but the parking situation is so horrendous that I cannot give it a rating higher than three stars. If I were basing it on the parking experience alone, it would be zero. We were within a mile of the venue an hour before the show started, and we ended up getting into the concert an hour late. It took us two hours to travel the last mile and get into a parking spot. You missed the two opening acts. The photo below shows the unorganized mess we experienced when trying to leave.
