We were greatly blessed moving into a neighborhood close to this school and by the grace of God our children got in at the right time. Before each school year starts, each teacher reaches out to the parents and makes house calls - a visit to the child's home to meet the parents in person, give them the curriculum, expectations, and guidelines the children are supposed to have so the parents and children know the teacher's expectation throughout the school year. The teachers also give parents their contact info so the parents can easily connect with the teacher at anytime. I mean, what school can you say, that teachers come to your house and makes a personal visit to connect with the family directly? I do not know of any except this school. In addition, this school only has one class per grade - one class of kinder, one class of first grade, etc. The ratio of teacher to children is around 20 to 1. They keep the size of class small so they can keep the class intimate. They also have a therapist on staff for students' mental and emotional health! They keep the students actively reading all year long by having "battle of the books" per grade and have awesome incentives. Julie, the principal, is a "go-getter" and treats all of her students like they are her own. You can feel the love of JHCS staff for each student, and each student is known by their name. It truly is a second family. Besides all of the great things I already mentioned, JHCS is ranked #1 Best Public Elementary Schools in the area and has a grade of "A" in overall niche grade!

The La Petite staff has always been extremely accommodating with my schedule with my son. Sometimes he needs to go extra when I have him over spring or over fall break and they have always been willing and able to work with me. I cannot say how nice that is! However, I have been extremely impressed by all of the staff members at La Petite Academy in East Lehi. They genuinely care and love my son. Yes, 3 year old kids can be nightmares (and mine is no exception), but receiving a TEXT from the teacher saying he couldn't return after only 2 days seems absurd. I asked her if he could have another chance. NO. I asked if I could observe the class and his behavior. NO. I asked if there was anything else I could do because I had to work from home and I depended on those 3 hours to get work done. NO. My experience with the school was entirely unprofessional and disappointing. There was ABSOLUTELY clear favoritism shown to some students versus others when I would drop off and pick up, which was very frustrating to see. A side note: Children often act out when they feel uncomfortable or unsafe in a situation. Obviously I wasn't there during the class, but I think that is something to think about when choosing a preschool for your own child.

They filled out a Jordan district behavioral form on him that sounded nothing like we've ever seen from him! This startled us, so when they told us he needed developmental help and excused us from their program (that same day) we put him through every screening they suggested. He passed everything with flying colors. Every Ped visit, every therapy visit and assessment. Jordan district wouldn't help us place him in any developmental preschool programs because they said he didn't qualify for needing any help from them. We got him into a different preschool. That teachers Jordan district behavioral form she filled out on him looked nothing like what sunshine square said he was acting like. It just read like the exact kid we see here at home. Sunshine squares ultimate lack of communication caused me to really struggle to trust teachers. And be overly harsh with any behavior he had. Years later, he's still flourishing in school, and rocking the dual immersion program (behaviorally, socially, and academically). Thanks to great teachers and communication. We were surprised and bummed to have this experience since we went here for preschool as children. Edit: When we escalated this problem/confusion up with the head lady (Mrs.Susie), all she would say is she has to support her teachers opinion and excuse us from the school. No explanation or discussion, she wouldn't allow us to sit in to see his supposed behaviors, or discuss them with the teacher more so we could understand how he was acting. We felt like they were just getting rid of him, and we didn't know why.

My child attends the Riverton location. He has a late birthday and some speech issues so I was hesitant on putting him in preschool the month after he turned 3. Miss Suzie assured me when I was looking around that he would do just fine, and he has done amazing! Miss Greta has kept me informed of his progress all year long, any issues that have arisen, and my son has learned SO much. I would highly recommend this school and can't wait for next year.

New owner & director have made incredible changes!!!…read more My boys were at this school in 2021-2022 school year. We did experience many of the grievances with the previous/owner director. However, the new director has been so awesome to work with. The school has retained the things that made it great : classical education, screen free instruction, no sugar, Montessori inspired, clean & organized facility but all the nonsense rules and the neurotic pestering and teaching style of the previous director are gone. My kids love going to school every day and I do not worry about them being on laptops and having TV based lessons. They get plenty of time outside. The faculty is extremely responsive to each of my kids needs and challenges each of them at their unique levels & needs. Overall, GREAT decision to come back :)

From the security and convenience of the port-of-call to the well keep facilities (school rooms/assembly-dance rooms, etc.) it has been nice to know that our kids are in a good environment. The staff has always been friendly and helpful and the school I believe is in a safe/nice location. I would highly recommend this pre-school to anyone in the area.
