Their products are 100% vegetarian made using hand picked herbs from a walled garden in Somerset. It sounds a bit mental but it must have its advantages, their hair care line has certainly made a difference. It doesn't come cheap at £13 a bottle of conditioner or shampoo, these can really alter how moisturised and soft your tresses feel. Other ranges include body lotions, massage oils, candles, hand care, soap and bathroom accessories. In this shop the cow theme, with black and white spots goes very well with the minty green walls, it is a small shop but it is a wonderful shop, were you can even purchase vintage apple crates.

I was in London on business and my company put me up at the High Road House in Chiswick. Imagine my surprise when I opened up the shower and found full bottles of shampoo in the shower. And not only that there were all kinds of showering gels. In all, there were a total of 5 full bottles of hair and body product. After a very long day of travel I needed nothing more than a shower. So I jumped in the large shower stall turned on the shower and I was pleased to discover the most most pleasant shower head. I was automatically put in a more relaxed mood. Then my curiosity got the better of me and so I started opening the various bottles of Cowshed product smelling each one. All the bottles smelled so sweet that it was hard to choose where to start first. Each bottle was tall and stately with the loveliest of designs. An art director like me couldn't help but appreciate the attractive packaging/design. There was something about the combination of that good shower head and the sweet smelling product that made that shower the best of my life. I am not sure a shower has ever satisfied all my senses before but this one did. The feel of the water drops on my body with the combination of lavender just made my heart happy! In fact, the entire week I was in London, the favourite moment of each day was taking a shower and using the Cowshed product. I don't think I ever enjoyed bathing as much as I did that week. Of course I had to replicate the experience back home in California so I quickly found the Cowshed store which was conveniently located a door or two down from the hotel and bought me some product to take home. It was God awful expensive especially for an American but gosh darn it, I just had the best showering moments of my life! So for someone who is so not into girly products and hardly splurges on make up let alone hair product I of course had to buy some no matter the cost. And it was seriously the best find of my trip! My only regret is that I lost half a bottle of the wonderful shampoo as it burst open during my flight home. Oh No!! I was so disappointed at the loss but then again my clothes smelled like lavender. I felt quite nervous going inside as everything looked so expensive, but I shouldn't have worried. One of the sales assistants came over to me and demonstrated the lipglosses that I was looking at, even opening a new one so I could try it. She really went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and relaxed. I have to admit though, that I didn't buy (found it cheaper on eBay!) but it really is a wonderful shop if you are looking for a special gift. Nearest tube is Turnham Green on the District line. Turn left out of the station, follow right to the end to Chiswick High Road and turn left and you should see Space NK right there!

You might pay a little bit more here for lotion and stuff but trust me, it is well worth it. I highly suggest the Love My Body card for added discounts as well. Needless to say, I am thrilled to have a Body Shop within walking distance from home now. This Body Shop in particular is great. As far as my hair, they said they were going to take off an inch, and they only took an inch. Which is almost unheard of when I have gotten my hair cut at other salons. The décor is modern and bright with music playing and a personal tablet at each station. Drinks were also served in mason jars which was a cute addition. I dont have children but there is a childrens play area down stairs which as a mom I'm sure would be great. They have a range of spa treatments too, waxing, mani/pedi, eyebrow threading and eyelash treatments which I plan to take advantage of in the future. As for the place where they do the manicures, etc, they're actually a small section at the back corner of the shop, and they look comfortable and clean, but if you don't fancy people watching you while you have your eyebrows threaded, then you may be put off by the fact that it is not an enclosed room.
