Cinnamon raisin bagel a with London Fog
    Kelly P.

Had a great breakfast in this friendly cafe before walking the walls. What better way to start a trip to York than eating a tasty cinnamon bagel inside a literal turret? They have a well-refined menu of coffee and tea drinks and a small assortment of breakfasts and cakes. This was a nice find for morning, but it would be a wonderful stop post-walls for an afternoon brew. Be sure to try the London Fog; I've had countless London Fogs in countless cafes across the US and UK, but this one was the nicest.

Tucked away inside a castle wall turret (yes tucked away inside a castle wall turret) this absolute gem of a place is somewhere that everyone who is wanting to walk the famous walls should drop into to get a well earned caffeine fix before heading off for the day. Inside there's surprisingly seating for around 20 people while there's also a few tables and chairs outside for those lovely summer days. There's a large counter selling great coffee, tea and snacks - it's always a good sign when 'flat white' is the first thing you see on the menu when you go in. Flat white me up indeed! So a really good find, the coffee was great and somewhere that should be hunted out over all the chains around the town - fantastico! Oh yeah and it's also only about 5 mins walk from the train station.

Such a cute place. In the top of an old guard tower on the river. Latte and London Fog were delicious. The braided raisin bagel is so good and chewy (up to American standards), on top of being pretty. There's seats for about 15 people inside. The decor is comfortable.

Out on a walkabout taking photos of odd things and stopped her for an espresso. The person who waited on me was observant (noticed I like purple) which I immediately liked. Despite being busy she brought my coffee to me which was nice. Great music playing - good to read or write by. Coffee was good; nutty and strong. Good stop for a break.

Most amazing gem of a coffee shop. The ambience is off the charts :) friendly and prompt staff, comfortable seating, though the inside only holds about 15 people. There's some additional seating outside though! Do yourself a favor and get the sourdough toast.

How cool is it to have a coffee shop in a medieval tower (along the York city wall) !!!!

Despite being an old building, in what looks like a converted bank, they have kept Starbucks vibes to a degree and the store has a nice level of brightness, which is something you're sometimes missing in many older buildings. There was only a small amount of seating, which was a shame given how large the store was, but the seating was relatively comfortable. I ordered a Vent iced Pumpkin Spice latte, with this being my favourite festive drink at Starbucks, I was pleasantly surprised that they were one of the few stores in the country to still offer this drink. There wasn't even a button on the tills anymore to charge me, so they ended up putting it through as a vanilla latte, this meant I paid much less than what it would have been back in Autumn with my gold rewards discount. I enjoyed my drink, it was up to the usual Starbucks standards, although they did add whipped cream which I had specifically requested against. They were busy, and mistakes can happen, the staff remained friendly. Early closing is a huge down point for me, but sadly very few other businesses in York seem to remain open after 6 pm, I can't understand why that is, as it is the city centre of one of England's large and historic cities. 4*

It was great to be able to stop in and grab a nice hot cup of brewed coffee. They have basically the same menu as here in the States. Service was very friendly here and fast.
