Admittedly on the one occasion I have gone to this shop looking for a phone the gentleman told me I'd be better going to Tesco where it's cheaper. The last four years have definitely tested him in every conceivable way! I have recently been back in touch with Tony about a cracked iPhone screen. Yes, i broke mine too! I had been quoted silly money to get it fixed; originally a whopping £180, and subsequently £120, and £100. The latter quote is from a great little indie mobile phone shop in Weston-Super-Mare, called Phone Tek Nation, but they don't always have the parts, and I'm still waiting to hear back from them. They said they'd contact me when the new iPhone supplies arrived. This was over a week ago, and they had already been waiting a further week since the order. So either Apple can't produce enough spares for these darned fragile bits of kit, or else I've been lost amid a sea of other iPhone users that have also dropped their phones.... I'm glad I thought to call Unlock It, because guess what? As always, the price I've been quoted beats all the rest by a mile!! He has quoted me £69.00!!! This is Tony's forte! he beats everyone on price and gets the job done. By the way, it was Abri at Tudor Mobile Services that put me onto Phone Tek Nation as he doesn't presently service iPhones, and knew I needed a quick fix. He's also in Weston, in the lovely Tudor Mall, opposite Lloyds TSB, and works with most models of phones, keeping the price extremely competitive.

Like so many before me, I managed to drop my iPhone several times before the screen ultimately smashed. It was of course, only a matter of time before this was inevitably going to happen... but did I think to take out insurance to protect myself in this eventuality? Well, yes I did... But whether I got round to actually doing it is an entirely different matter! So, with the exorbitant cost of getting Apple to fix it for me, I began a quest that lasted well over a month to find a indie mobile phone shop like Sim Tech World that would do it cheaper. It ultimately cost a staggering £80.00 to get the screen replaced, but I had, in the meantime, damaged the LCD screen, making the job more expensive, (well, it was actually my neighbours cat jumping directly onto the broken screen in an attempt to catch a moth that put paid to the LCD screen in reality...) I didn't end up using Sim Tech World, but it certainly made me aware of their existence. They are seemingly a tight little business, that specialises in mobiles and home computing, including PC and Apple laptops, games consoles etc, as well as digital cameras; essentially all of your portable electronics that you can bring into the shop for attention, (thy don't do home visits). They also call themselves an 'entertainment exchange', which, as the name suggests, means that they sell second user kit as well.

They have a shop on Midland Raod just off Old Market and also on Gloucester Road in Bishopston. When my last computer broke down I used these guys for a bit f advice. Unfortunately there was no chance of repairing it, but they were very helpful and gave a number of other options to proceed with, including offering me their stock of computers to choose from. If you are having problems, if its a software issue they'll be able to fix it remotely, by gaining access to your computer and then fixing the problem from their office (obviously you have to give consent for this and they'll stay on the phone with you whilst they're fixing it). I reckon that's a really good idea and saves on a lot of cost (both for the customer and the company). Whilst this can help sort out the issue, if it's a hardware roblem then they'll have to attend your house or take the computer away for repair. Either way, their an impressive small outfit and worth a try.

I brought my phone here to be fixed when it broke soon after I bought it and failed to ever turn on…read moreagain. The guy in the store was really helpful, filled in all the required forms for me, sent it off and called to let me know when it was ready to be fixed. However my husband then had a problem with his phone, brought it into the same 3 store and they wouldn't help him saying he had to bring it back to the store he bought it from or somewhere else. Can't see why they helped me but wouldn't help me except for the fact that I'm girly and helpless ;-) I've now had the same problem happen to my phone as my husband has had. I reset all the settings on my phone and had to delete a load of files in order to get it to work occasionally. I turned off the Email on 3 function and that seems to be solving the problem. Don't particularly want to have to trek all over town just to find out what store will be willing to fix my phone fixed, if you want a job done, do it yourself!
