I had spoken with the assistant when I was purchasing and she had said that I could bring it back if it wasn't right. I returned the product the next day, expecting that I could get a refund. I was told however that they won't refund any products - only a store credit. Whilst the woman I spoke to when I purchased it did not specifically say I could have a refund, it definitely wasn't made clear that it would only be a store credit. The assistant I spoke to when I was trying to return the product was also quite rude during our entire interaction. Given they are a homewares store and that some of their products really need to be placed in situ to see if they are really right, their store policy seems quite unfair. In any case, if that is the store policy they wish to enforce then they could make it a lot clearer before purchase. A small sign near the register doesn't really suffice. For this reason I won't personally be shopping there again as it's a deal breaker for me. It is a real shame though as they have the potential to be great.

It's a good place to find gifts, with an interesting selection of books, home wares, baby gifts, candles, crockery etc. If you've been looking at Pinterest boards of hipster weddings, they can sort you out here too with dedicated wares like wedding sign posts and mason jar glasses. Some will find it overpriced and tragic, but it's all in good fun and the staff are lovely. Worth a sticky beak if you're at the market.

Early Settler stock furniture, lighting, bathroom ware and many other bit & pieces for the home & garden. The style is a mix of French provincial, rustic and country home products, of which most stores get away with charging a small fortune. Early settler had a great range, and the staff at the Mitcham store were very helpful. Check out the discount corner for items that may have a slight bump & have been reduced to clear...you'll often find a gem tucked away for a great price.

After visiting the Mentone store this morning, approximately 9.35am I was quiet disturbed to find…read morenearly no staff available .. no one in the quilting/ material cutting area. Only a lady ( might add very nice and very polite) in the furnishing section around the corner who could not help me with my enquiry. Was told I should come back after 11 when more staff would be available to help me with my enquiry. She was servicing both areas with cutting of material. So off I went to investigate again to see if I had missed where this item would be. Not being able to find anyone to help me I must be honest I left. The cashier was also lovely but said she was the only one on and could not help. These girls seemed to be the only ones on the ground floor. I want it known that they were very polite. But have to ask where were the staff??? My item I required you might ask was a silicon thimble, yes not a huge amount of money, but what you don't realise is that I am an avid quilter had material that I wanted but could not get any service. I just thought you might like to know. I will still use your store as I do think it's a great asset to our area and use it frequently, but not happy today with the great lack of service Regards Jill M.

With tables, side tables and huge mirrors on display, the furniture is great, however quite expensive. There's always a large amount of people eyeing off the pieces inside, and although some of the smaller items can be picked up for a decent price, the bigger items have you quickly turning the price tag back over and backing away slowly. Love the furniture, not so much the price.

The clothes and assorted items on sale are all priced to sell, and every time I've stopped in I've picked up a bargain. Due to the size of the store, the range isn't as big as the large Salvo's stores, however without any middlemen, you know your money is going straight to those who need it when you shop here.
