I was in the area just looking for something to eat, my favorite food is pizza so I decided I'd check out this pizza store because reviews weren't half bad and the pictures were enticing. I figured it kinda might be your standard run of the mill pizza place, expecting an average slice of pie but nothing special. I was greeted right away and had my order taken. The man who took my order was very kind and very cool. The place gave a very almost nostalgic vibe, it's like a regular sit down restaurant but it feels very personal, like someone's home. They had a great deal; two slices and a drink for 10 bucks. My food came out relatively fast but it was very fresh. Decently sized but not too overbearing. My goodness the pizza was superb. The sauce was so good. I am picky about the sauce on pizza but this place hit it out of the park. The cheese was very good and the pepperoni had lots of flavor. I came in for a quick bite and ended up getting another two slices just because of how delicious it was. I never am one to want to speak to anybody working there other than ordering my food but I had to let the man who helped me know just how good this pizza was. Some of the best I have ever had. Wife and I wanted to stay in New Year's Eve and wanted pizza. Browsed Yelp and and saw The Pizza Store. I have seen their sign so many times since I have lived very close since 1990. I looked at other places and tried to order delivery from my phone and was always directed to Door Dash or similar and was so frustrated with the nonsense, I said I'll just open some soup or something. My wife was adamant she wanted pizza so I told her to knock yourself out. She got on her laptop and pulled up The Pizza Store. I was grumpy at this point when she asked what I wanted and I said whatever. She said pepperoni and half sausage and half mushrooms. She knows I like thin crust, so she ordered a large as described. TPS immediately sent a text and said we received your order and it will be there in approximately 40 minutes. I thought I doubt that on NYE! I wasn't paying attention to the time and then ding dong - I said who's that it can't be the pizza already? Sure enough a kind gentleman was at the door with the pizza! She brought it in to the kitchen island and it was piping hot. There was a bunch of cheese so I said let's let it cool some so the cheese doesn't fall off. At that point she says I forgot to mention I ordered double cheese - really didn't need double cheese and would have even been better with their regular portion! In summary, extremely impressed with this long-running establishment. They actually delivered and on time and hot. Ingredients were all very good, the sauce not over powering and melded nicely with the toppings. Next time just single cheese - one star for the wife! Very pleasantly surprised and this will be out go to local spot in the near future. Look forward to eating there versus delivery. I typically do take more these days than dinning in, but if you do dine in, it's a decent casual atmosphere. I normally get the mushroom garlic pasta. I've tried versions of this at other local quick service Italian places, and this is my go-to dish. Friends and family have recommended the calzones and pizzas. This venue reminded me of the mom and pop pizzerias that I used to frequent on the east coast. I was able to order personal pizzas without cheese since I am lactose intolerant. The prices are reasonable. If you are craving Italian food and want a more casual ambience and cheaper prices, this is the place to go. There is inside and outdoor seating. There are also wall mount televisions featuring sports coverages'. They serve beverages and assorted types of alcohol. There is a slight musty odor indoors that I have noticed more than once.
