Located directly next to a Premier Inn just outside of town, and nestled between rolling green hills of sheep, what this Beefeater chain lacks in originality it more than makes up for with location. You'll definitely want to call ahead and make sure that you'll be able to get a table in advance as it does fill up quite quickly...particularly on weekends. We ate here once for lunch and twice for dinner and found that while the food was standard for the chain, it was prepared nicely. The salads were obviously prepared in advance and quite wilty at suppertime, but otherwise no food complaints. Also, the wait staff was unusually friendly...perhaps a product of being in such a country location? Prepare to order your drinks FAR in advance of when you think you'll be drinking it, however. We were waiting 15-20 minutes for drinks and when we complained (nicely) about it, the manager did admit that this was a chronic problem and that they were working on trying to sort it out. At least she was honest and open about it. read more
