History

Established in 1982.

Started in Canberra in the early 1980's by a single plumber who wanted to create a recognisable brand, The Plumbing Doctor was as a small business with big plans to expand. While a few things have changed from back in those days (including our name) The Plumbing & Electrical Doctor is still the same great company with the same great values - we care about you and your home. The business now employs over 25 tradespeople in Newcastle, the Central Coast and Canberra and proudly continues to use The Plumbing Doctor brand although now with its expanded offering of electricians as well.

Meet the Business Owner: Joe E.

During its early period of expansion The Plumbing Doctor took on many apprentices and in the mid 1990's one of these apprentices was a gentleman by the name of Joe Evers. Under the guidance of experienced plumbers at The Plumbing Doctor, Joe went on to become a very successful and respected plumber in the Canberra region. While Joe furthered his plumbing experience in other parts of Australia The Plumbing Doctor brand continued to operate under new ownership in the Canberra region. When the opportunity arose in the early 2000's for Joe to acquire The Plumbing Doctor brand in the Newcastle region he jumped at the chance. From a small business in Newcastle of only two employees Joe grew the business to 10 employees before another chance arose, this time to take over the business in Canberra where it all began. At around the same time the company re-branded when they expanded to include the electrical trade which brought about the name change to The Plumbing & Electrical Doctor.
