A Relaxing Lakeside Experience with Great Food & Service This was our second visit to this quaint seat-yourself restaurant. With indoor seating, a cozy patio, and tables on the lawn, we chose the latter for a peaceful view of Lake Worth lake. The setup creates the perfect backdrop, complemented by a refreshing breeze. Both times we've been, there was live music--this time, karaoke--which made for a fun atmosphere. Service started off slow, but thanks to Trisha, our waitress, the experience was completely turned around. She was attentive, friendly, and truly saved the day by quickly taking care of us, after we had waited quite a while. Her warmth and efficiency made the visit extra special. As for the food, we went with our usual--the three-piece catfish basket, which comes with French fries, hush puppies, and coleslaw. Everything was fresh and delicious. The margaritas were just as enjoyable! After dinner, we took a short walk down to the edge of the bluff overlooking the lake and relaxed on a nearby bench, soaking in the peaceful surroundings. If you're in this neck of the woods and are totally into dive bars, look no further! We had the club sandwich to split, and then shared the corn bread and fried okra. All three were excellent!! We sat at the bar (there was some kind of party with a DJ taking up the entire front dining area). The bar area is small (just what you'd expect at a dive), and the bartender was quick to refill and helpful in helping us decide on food. This is a little out of the way for us, but if we're back that way, I will order the exact same thing...probably the best club sandwich I've had in a long time!! read more

This is a fun casual restaurant on Lake Worth with a view of the lake. Inside seating or outside in the sun or shade. All have lake views. The service is friendly and efficient. We were here around 5 on a Thursday. It wasn't real busy, but two large groups were gathering at two big tables. The beer battered onion rings were awesome. The fried catfish, French fries, fried okra and coleslaw were fresh and tasty. All of the hot food was very hot. The frozen mango was very good. I have a feeling that this place gets really crowded later at night and on weekends. We will be back! read more

Stopped in for the first time for a late lunch today. View was beautiful vibe was cool with not the is most comfortable seating but certainly better than the tiny metal chairs in a lot of new restaurants. Food was hot and flavorful. Honestly, the food and ambiance are great. The Point has been one of my favorite places for several years now and we've watched and supported them through the trials of covid, changes in management, cooks, menu, etc. But we way we were treated over our last visit is enough to keep us away for good. We were lead to believe we were buying beers during happy hour but if that was the case, they had to be $16 a glass at non-happy hour times. No longer a fan. It wasn't just a misunderstanding, it was a clear deception that our choice of beer wasn't included in the happy hour. We were told it was happy hour and not informed of any exclusions. Trying to rectify the bill became a chore and a follow up call to the manager produced only hostility. Point on the Lake was 10 minutes away. Curb appeal: (3 stars ) Ambiance: (2 stars) - when you enter - you feel like you're entering a banquet room. But you are encouraged to sit wherever you like. Okay. Into the cozy bar I chose. Service: (4stars)- super friendly staff. So much so- that when we decided to sit outside- they brought an extra fan. And when friends phone hit 4% they supplied a charger. Now about the food. Onion ring. Cut fresh, cooked to order. 16 or 32 rings on a plate. $8? For 16? Idk. Our waitress seemed to forget that we existed. I was warned that service at The Point on Lake Worth is extremely slow and that the prices are kinda high. OK, no big deal, it's a Sunday and we are the first customers. Holy crap, they weren't kidding on how slow the service was...but again, it's a Sunday and I'm sitting on the lake trying to chill out. Finally we get our food. Wifey got the catfish, fries and fried okra. Catfish & fries were good, but the fried okra was a soggy greasy mess. Daughter got the chicken fried steak and it was good. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and I got something that looked like it barely survived a house fire. Seriously, look at the photos I attached. The burger, bun, and bacon were LITERALLY black. Local dive bar and grill for sure! I love them, if you do as well, you'll love this one too!!! Lots of seating options! Outside, outside porch, dining room, bar, etc. Full bar menu! I even saw someone get a frozen margarita. The beers on draft are seriously ice cold and come an awesome frosted mug! We only tried a few things but they didn't disappoint. This is typical bar food. Fresh and the perfect temperatures! I really enjoy breaded okra and this has great flavor! Service is great! Very personable and friendly. Didn't rush us or ignore us.
