Uk Polly tea, went for cream teas, got the club sandwich also. With fresh baked bread,the club sandwich was quite impressive. The cream tea came with tea, and a scone, with the option of plain or fruit. The tea was very good but the scone was a little dry. Over all the price was about £40 for three cream teas, two sandwiches, a latte, and a few things from the bakery. Would come again. Written by the kid cuz I was at the pub. read more

Appalling service, cold, uninviting and not a patch on the Food Gallery down the road. The cakes are good, but the attitude of the staff made our recent family celebration (my fathers 92nd birthday), for afternoon tea, a non event ..... a shame as it used to be a wonderful tea rooms. Polly seems to be a meeting place for everyone in Marlborough. It's your quintessential tea shop. I had the fresh mint tea and tried the tea cakes with marmalade. Both were perfect on a rainy country day. It does get pretty packed, so plan ahead! read more

My daughter and I went because we were told this was the best tea room in all of Marlborough. It was fabulous. The tea was great as was my crumpet ( we call it an English muffin) everything else looked scrumptious. If you're here it's a must stop. read more

Ordered smashed avocado on toast for £8.95 expecting a reasonable lunch sized portion for the price. We got one slice of lightly toasted supermarket brown bread smeared with avocado with a few bits of salad leaves and a desertspoon of chopped peppers as a garnish. Ordered separate side salads which never appeared and we had to ask them to be taken off the bill. Coffee was ok but for over £3 it came in a small teacup. Not good value for money- in fact rather extortionate we thought. Next time we will go elsewhere. read more

The Polly Tearooms are a personnal favourite of mine. It is full of olde world charm, although I do always feel sorry for the waitresses who have to wear the most terbbile dresses! They do a great tea, with the most yummy cakes ever, and im not a massive cake fan! If you ever happen to be in Marlborough definatly worth a stop in for at least a coffee. read more

I love going to Polly Tearooms when I'm in Marlborough. It's a lovely old building with wooden beams on the ceiling and famous artwork on the walls. The perfect place for tea and scones! They also do a really nice breakfast and lunch menu, and isn't too expensive. The service is excellent too, as the waitresses are always asking you if you want a coffee refill etc. read more

I love to take family and friends to Pollys as a treat, the old fashioned surroundings are quaint. Be prepared to queue as its very popular and you can't pre book. read more

The best tea rooms in Marlborough? I don't know really - there are other good ones but this seems to be the busiest. Always seems to be crowded especially at weekends. Huge selection of cakes to go with your cuppa. Also can buy cakes to take away or order a cake for that special occassion. Nice treat for a special day. read more

The Polly Tea rooms in Marlborough are the sort of place to go when you feel like stepping back in time and having a nice cup of tea and a cake served in style, not just bunged at you in a plastic mug! It is situated in Marlborough High Street. Marlborough has a really wide high street. (Not sure if it is the widest High Street in the country). If you are having a cup of tea and a cake in the Polly Tea rooms, you can sit and look out over the high street and watch the world go by, especially interesting if it is a busy market day. read more

Wel, ooit vond ik dit adres in een Belgische reisgids. We waren op rondreis in het Zuiden van Engeland en we kwamen voorbij in Marlborough. Dus waarom zouden we niet eens gaan kijken? We waren verbaasd toen we al die tafels zagen die doorbogen onder het gewicht van die prachtige taarten en cakes. Een tweede keer hebben we speciaal voor Polly een omweg gemaakt. En we waren opnieuw niet ontgoocheld. De laatste keer wilden we deze tearoom aan onze kinderen tonen maar door een panne van de ferry waren we te laat in Engeland en konden we niet meer omrijden. Eén ding staat echter vast, we komen er ooit nog eens terug. read more

A very relaxing place to stop and recharge the batteries. lovely tea and coffee and cakes. Often full of tourists in the summer but quieter in the winter. The cakes are delicious and they do wedding cakes and Christmas cakes too. They also sell chocolates which are quite pricey but delicious and good for presents. read more

If you are popping to Marlborough for a morning of shopping this is a great place to pop in for breakfast, coffee, lunch or afternoon tea. Really lovely food, refill coffees are free and the cakes are to die for! A really lovely old traditional tea room. Try the bottled organic local apple juice it's lovely. read more

This is a very cute and old fashion tearoom but the coffee is avarage and the menu overpriced. There is better coffee to get in Marlborough if coffee is your thing (one place further down the high street and a small place down Hilliard Yard have superb coffee) as an experiance of an old fashion tearoom Polly's is the place though. read more

Probably the worse tea rooms I have ever visited. This placed is dated, over priced and poorly run. We ordered tea for two and were surprised when we were given basic white porcelain cups and a stainless steel teapot. For a moment I thought we were in a motorway service station and not an established tea rooms. They say don't judge a book by it's cover, but the tea itself tasted awful. The tea bags were unbranded and I have never drunk tea as disgusting as this in my life. The final straw was when we paid we were overcharged but I didn't want to argue, I just wanted to get out of this place as fast as I could. Also, the menu was so old the proprietor probably hadn't updated the prices. How they can justify their high prices is beyond me. Everything, from crumpets to a cold salad was overpriced. The staff looked totally out of place here and couldn't have looked less interested if they had tried. Fortunately only two of us visited here and we only had tea. It would have been a total disappointment and embarassment had we brought a group of friends here. This was our first visit to The Polly Tea Rooms and it most definitely will be our last. If you want a better cup of tea, stop off at the next road side cafe. read more
