I initially contacted them for a pool cleaning service and was quoted a price of $120. However,…read moreupon arriving at my property, the price increased to $200, claiming there had been a price change. I found this unreasonable and questioned the significant increase, but no valid explanation was provided. This is very highly unprofessional and exploitative, particularly after a price had already been agreed upon. Additionally, I had a broken water filter that required replacement, for which I was charged nearly three times the reasonable cost. This practice raises serious concerns about the company's business ethics. Exploiting customers is not a sustainable way to grow a business. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this service. It appears that pricing is very inconsistent and possibly based on profiling customers, which is unacceptable. To this day, I still cannot justify how a quoted price of $120 increased to $200 within just a few days. They still have the price as $120 per visit on their page - isn't that deceptive!

He was hired to clean a cloudy pool and spent an hour or less in two days doing absolutely nothing. He kept trying to push for the weekly maintenance but why would we hire someone that already has proven to be incompetent. He didn't even have a proper water testing kit and wanted us to go to the pool store for a proper test. He is absolutely clueless and doesn't know what he's doing a complete joke. I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy. Hopefully this asshole chokes on the $150.

Unprofessional and Unaccountable- A Frustrating Experience…read moreI'm sharing this to help others make an informed decision before hiring Epic Escapes in Saint Charles. They originally built the pool at the home I purchased and also handled the pool closing for the previous owner. Unfortunately, when I had the pool opened by another company this spring, it was discovered that the spa had not been properly winterized-the spa wasn't plugged-which led to a cracked valve and expensive repairs. I contacted Epic Escapes to ask if they stood behind their work, but they denied responsibility and never returned my calls. Hoping for a resolution, I went to their office and spoke with Donna. I calmly explained the situation and even offered to cover the cost of parts if they would help fix the issue. Donna said she would speak with the owner and get back to me, but I never heard from them again. It's incredibly frustrating to deal with a company that built the pool and closed it, yet refuses to take any accountability or even return a phone call. If they had simply provided a reasonable solution, they could have gained a loyal, long-term customer. Instead, I was left with a poor impression and a very negative experience. I would not recommend Epic Escapes based on the way this was handled.

The first red flag was I had to continue to follow up on the initial appointment for the estimate. I had to reach out after there were 2 no-shows. Once Nick was finally able to keep the appointment. We had agreed on the service that was required and agreed on the price. He was quickly eager to book my appointment and needed a deposit to hold my appointment. I sent my 200.00 depoit via Zelle. (He uses zelle because you are not able to contest the fraud.) Red FLAG #2 The Zell account is not his. It belongs to his partner. RED FLAG #3. His words, "CASH IS KING." I completely understand the springtime appointments do fill up quickly. After getting my invoice, we agreed the opening date would be Sunday, May 18th. Red Flag #4 Well, the time of the appointment went by, and Nick never reached out saying he wasn't able to attend. I had a follow-up asking if he was still going to do repairs today. I asked when we could expect the reschedule. He stated the 25th. Once again zero communication. If you are running a business as a business owner, you have one job. Communicate with your clients. I requested a refund, and I was told this wasn't possible. I wish I had read the google and yelp reviews before having Pool Duck out and give him my money. I have reported this business to the Better Business Bureau, Zelle, my financial institution, and the required government agencies to flag this business as fraud. I hope this saves someone from this scammer who is quick to take your money and no show.

Contact him to say look you're obviously not coming and we'd like our deposit back. They say ok and proceed to block me from Venmo after saying we'd get the money in seven days. Guy is awful at running a business. Wish I could give zero stars.
