I enjoy perusing the handmade goods - those ocean wave tumblers are gorgeous. The flowers are fresh and beautiful. The next couple of booths I need to try are the empanadas, the kettle corn and the guacamole guys. The streets are closed off so it's safe to walk. People bring their kids and dogs. Bring your own shopping bag or wagon- you're gonna need it. This last time I grabbed a loaf of bread, clam chowder, smoked fish dip, a couple bags of coffee, a large jar of honey, kimchi and dumplings to go, and some local rum. Last time, I got a loaf of bread, a couple cakes, and some fresh veggies. The market is open Saturdays from 8-1. There is a large parking garage that is next to it and the parking is free. Come, buy something, enjoy the music and support local.

I always asked, " what about Florida?" Well, I haven't found the folks here to be so welcoming. They don't care for my Southern accent and I often feel like I'm speaking a foreign language. It is what it is I suppose. The farmer's market makes me feel welcome and the vendors are warm and nice and are just good dang people. We buy the same veggies from the same family every week and I honestly think they would notify the police if we did not show up. Everything is delicious and there is not a product I wouldn't be proud to show off in my home. Of course, the doggies make my day bright. So if you want to feel good, just go. I do it every Saturday and even though I'm ready for the next adventure, they keep me coming back for some warmth. Just the brightest spot around. Fresh flowers are great as well! This used to be our favorite place to come pick delicious tomatoes. The previous owner grew one variety and one variety only That they staggered planting so you could pick beautiful size tomatoes from December well into April. They lost their lease and Farmer mikes. You pick took it over and seems to grow more flowers than vegetables. We went there twice last year and we're not able to get strawberries on either occasion And the tomatoes we were able to pick were mediocre at best. So if you're looking for a place to consistently pick tomatoes I don't think this is your best option, but I will say the strawberries I picked were quite good. They also have lots of things for kids with a bouncy station, etc.. They also grow a plentiful supply of beautiful sunflowers so if you're looking for fresh flowers, I think you will be very happy.

Once you place your order you can sit down at a table and wait for your pager to go off. When your pager goes off you have to go to the back of the restaurant to get your utensils. The utensils are plastic that are dispensed. The coffee cups are made of Styrofoam, surprising since this is promoted as a"farm to table" restaurant. You can dispense your own coffee and pick up non refrigerated packaged creamers. No fresh milk or creamer offered. Again surprising. My wife asked a food preparer if she could have some fresh milk for her coffee. It was provided in a plastic container. I ordered an egg, cheese, and bacon on a biscuit. I didn't see any other type of bread offered. My wife ordered the waffle making a point for it to be prepared plain. Our pagers went off and we went to pick up our food. The waffles my wife ordered plain had some kind of cream on it. The server said she didn't see any note about it being prepared plain. She took it back to remake it and brought it out to our table. The coffee was very weak and not very good. My wife threw hers out. Her waffle was tasteless. She took a couple of bites and threw it out as well. My biscuit sandwich was also very disappointing. The biscuit was dry and hard, the texture of the bacon was like shoe leather. We could not understand why this restaurant was as busy as it was. The only thing we could think of, was that it's the only place around. We left and drove 20 minutes to a Bakery/Cafe where they served good coffee, bread, and pastries.
