I've received another beautiful bouquet of flowers from my other half who got it from the Pua Bar. I adore their style and the unique selections they have. My other half doesn't know flowers and so he found Pua Bar to help him select and create something I'll like. I know it's on the pricier side but given the type of flowers, I'm always delighted to receive it. Unfortunately on both occasions the flowers did not last very long. Yes, we did cut the stems before transferring it to a vase. The flowers are limp quickly and by night fall, some of the flowers are already losing some petals. How sad is that?!? I called them and they took my order over the phone. I paid through Venmo. It was made so easy. I asked them to make a beautiful bouquet for my friend who just gave birth AND is having a birthday. I gave them my budget and they made such a beautiful bouquet!! They didn't offer to do deliveries, but I managed to wrangle my friend's husband to pick up the flowers for her! Haha. Stumbled upon The Pua Bar while waiting for the Kaua'i Safari and I'm so glad we did. We were celebrating my birthday so of course I wanted to grab some lei. I got a beautiful two strand pikake lei and the smell was so sweet! We were able to talk story with Hailey for a bit and she gifted me a pikake comb as well. How sweet is that??! I'm incredibly disappointed by the lack of professionalism this business has. I visited the Pua Bar at the beginning of the month and bought four leis, but only received two. I called them and informed them that I only had two leis and they took down my contact info to call me back later. Three days go by and nothing... I visited the store again and was told they are aware of the situation but the owner, Haylee, is the only one who can process refunds and she is not on the island. The nice employee informed me that she was just texting her and will let her know that I'm still waiting for the refund. A week goes by and I still have not received ANYTHING. I called again and was given Haylee's contact information so that I could contact her directly. It has been over a week again and she has not acknowledged my messages. This is incredibly unprofessional and I truly wish I never gave this company my business because I refuse to support a business with horrible customer service. DO NOT SHOP HERE. I work at Olukai & we had our grand opening on Friday the 18th & Hailey (not sure if i spelt it right, sorry!!) arranged three BEAUTIFUL flower arrangements for our company. when i came in the day after the store opening to make my anniversary bouquet with my partner i noticed some things in the shop that were in our arrangements at work so i went to work the next day & asked who made them. come to find out it was The Pua Bar!! Interesting place that is open to haggling the delivery fee. When I called to order flowers to be delivered, was told that delivery in Lihue will cost $35. When I decided to not order the flowers, the saleswoman asked "why", I said "because you charge almost double for delivery", the saleswoman then offered to lower the delivery charge and we haggled on the delivery cost. I stumbled across the Pua Bar Instagram page and saw a beautiful bouquet that I wanted recreated for my wedding. I went to the Pua Bar in person on 3 different occasions - showed the employees my vision and was quoted $250 for a luxe bridal bouquet. I paid this amount months in advance. The day before my wedding, 20 mins before our rehearsal; my wedding coordinator picked up the bouquet for me. Upon her arrival to rehearsal I was in shock and disappointed. I could not fathom the fact that I had purchased a LUXE WEDDING BOUQUET for $250 and have the product look like this. I quickly referred back to my text message exchanges back with Haylee and saw that the reference photos were not even close in similarity. I had asked for specific flowers and it appeared the only flowers that made the cut were the anthuriums and orchids. Attached are photos of the Inspo bouquets sent to Haylee via text, the product I received the first time, product received second time, and the Inspo pics I resent her because she informed me she did not receive any photos. Back to what happened, I called Haylee and informed her that the luxe bridal bouquet I received did not look anything like the photos I've sent her, and did not appear to reflect a $250 payment. Haylee then "apologized" and said, May is a busy month, she's got multiple orders, claimed to have run out of florals, claimed that the flowers in my bouquet were expensive, blamed the wedding coordinator, etc.. I explained to her that this inquiry was made months ago and I understand that May is a busy month which is why I inquired months in advance. At this point I did not want to continue with the conversation, I asked for a refund and informed her that the bouquet would be brought back. She denied my refund and only offered store credit - however, she also did offer to add more florals to my bouquet but needed to leave the shop by 5:30 pm (this call was made at 2:41pm) and my wedding rehearsal was to start at 3 pm in Kapaa. I told her that I was unable to get there before she leaves since I have my wedding rehearsal at 3pm, she again informed me that she would be leaving the shop at 5:30 pm since she's got two lei po'os that she still needs to get done. My friend offered to take the bouquet to the Pua Bar and assist with the product. So, I let Haylee know my friend would be coming into the shop to add more florals to the bouquet. While in rehearsal my friend sent photos of the "new" bouquet. It still did not resemble the "vision" I had. I asked if we could add more white flowers and was told by Haylee - "this is all I could do". The Pua Bar has failed me. It's a shame since I literally asked for a bouquet that they had already created in the past. When I received the second bouquet, I redid it with the help of my bridesmaids (something that became an inconvenience) - attached are photos of the bouquet I made using what I could from the Pua Bar and leftover florals from my centerpieces. If you're an upcoming bride, or inquiring on wedding services please save yourself the stress and go elsewhere. The customer service, communication, and overall experience was terrible. Brought my wife here during our staycation anniversary. She loves flowers so the fact that she could make her own was very fun. Everything is by the stem and it's honestly priced very reasonably, and they wrap it for you which is awesome. Girl at the counter was super helpful and the shop was such a vibe. read more

Stumbled on this cute shop that's a flower bar with some other curated local gifts. The price for a bouquet is per stem and you can build your own. I'm not one to leave reviews, but I feel obligated after my experience. I would hate for another bride to go through a similar potential disaster the morning of her wedding. I spoke with Haylee over the phone the day before my wedding to discuss picking up a bridal bouquet and two leis. I actually stopped in the store the day before as well, but was told to stop back the next morning when there would be a bigger selection and fresh leis to choose from. Haylee was very lovely over the phone, and informed me that she would be in early the next day at 8am. I made plans with her to arrive in the morning to pick up my flowers. I arrived at 9am and no one was at the shop. I called her 3 times and left a voicemail. I waited at the shop for 30 minutes before realizing I needed plan B for my wedding ceremony that would take place THAT DAY. I never heard back. Haylee ended up returning my phone call after 1pm, on my way to my hair appointment, and after I already found florists to save the day. I really thought the store was adorable and the concept is great. However, the manager was totally unreliable and caused so much more stress than necessary. She is very unreliable. I highly recommend Forever Flowers (who made us last minute leis) and Blue Orchid (who made the most beautiful bridal bouquet) with a few hours notice!! Please do yourself a favor, and don't be fooled by the cute instagram and storefront. It was a terrible experience with The Pua Bar on a very special day. read more

I came In last week Wednesday and I made a bouquet for a girlfriend that came down for my birthday, and the service was amazing! The staff were so nice and I even got to meet the owner! The boy who was working up front of the day I went was super sweet and was very helpful with suggestions for my bouquet. We reached out to Haylee to do our wedding flowers (bouquet, centerpieces, floral crowns, & arch arrangement) about 4 weeks prior to our wedding. Unfortunately we had to switch our wedding from Maui to kauai last minute. Haylee was so easy to work with and was very responsive. She met with us over the phone and took my inspo pictures and brought my dream florals to life in such a short period of time! Honestly they were better than we could have imagined and we got tons of compliments on the floral arrangements from our friends back home after seeing all the pictures! I spent the day before my wedding making bouquets with my mom and a few friends in the shop. we loved the selection and the girls were so helpful! however, I paid a head of time for everything but when it came to the end they charged my mom over $800 for the flowers. I had already left and was unaware they we're charging her again. thinking it was probably just a mix up I reached out to them by email, phone and voicemail, over Instagram and through my wedding coordinator. no one has returned my attempts to contact them to resolve the matter. so disappointed because this business is an amazing idea and the flowers were perfect for the wedding. it left a biter taste in my mouth and obviously we were WAY over charged. would NOT recommend to brides looking for flowers on the island. read more

I usually do not write yelp reviews, but from what I experienced here at The Pua Bar the decision to go out of my way to write one was completely necessary. Short Backstory: My good friend was getting married. The day BEFORE the wedding, a bouquet costing $250 was received from the Pua Bar that was no where near what had been agreed upon months in advance. I was informed by my good friend that there was clear COMMUNICATION between The Pua Bar and her about how the bouquet was supposed to be. I also was shown photographs of what was sent to Haylee who I was told is the "manager"and even text messages shared. The Pua Bar would not issue any refunds but claimed to add to the bouquet if it was brought in to them. Being that my good friend was getting married tomorrow and unable to go in herself, the agreement was that I would bring it in for her. I went to get this issue immediately resolved by bringing in the bouquet to them. Upon arriving to the Pua Bar and informing them of my visit, I immediately was met with an attitude of inconvenience. The rolling of the eyes and carelessness was easily observed by the 2 employees within the business. It was almost as if i was a big bother and interruption to them. Without asking I was bombarded with reasons on why this was a bad time for them as business as if they were reasons or excuses about why I was a bother to them. It was a very uncomfortable feeling. I was then told that they DID NOT receive any photographs of ideas for the bouquet requested and strongly given the impression that it was our fault (customers fault) and not theirs for the mess up. The blame further was shifted on the wedding coordinator for not saying anything to them upon receiving it that same day. I was told it would be a 45 min wait for the updated bouquet then escorted to a bar by haylee where she then began to rant in front of me to the bartender about why I was there and then I was eventually told i could order something and it would be put on her tab. Upon receiving the updated bouquet from them, it appeared that my friends flower request was not being met. I immediately noticed that the florals added were not the ones requested by my friend. It also contained semi tarnished and browning white flowers. It appeared that the bouquet was given green fillers but i began to realize that it was no where near anything worth $250. The manager Haylee informed me that this was the best she could do with what she had due to former employee taking this order months in advance. She informed me at first that I could look within the store for any other flowers to add for the bouquet but immediately back tracked and told me that she couldn't do anymore and did not have the time for me or my request. I was questioned with smart remarks from another employee who I was not even speaking with. I again was provided reasons and or excuses about why this business was busy and could not accommodate my good friends request and did not have the flowers that were requested for months in advance. Again I felt that the blame was shifted on the customer and no responsibility was taken by the business that did not have the proper flowers for the request. If I could give this 0 stars I would. I would not recommend this business to anybody especially brides looking into flowers for their wedding. Please look elsewhere, it's also ridicously overpriced. Never have I ever experienced such an attitude of disregard and lack of empathy from an employee and a "manager" of a business. My feedback to this business and it's employees is simple. This business really needs to learn professionalism in the customer service realm and truly learn to take accountability in its actions. In this business it appears that unforseeen circumstances that happened gives this business the right to put the blame on the customer for why a order is not the way it should have been.
