Go during the week and not the weekends. The first time we went was a Tuesday night a few years back and we had a blast! Then we tried it on a Saturday and those rumors about standing in the lines for ever! Are true! Bring cash for parking $20 but the purchase of The Chill, you have access to the ship. My daughter and I had a good time until we got tired of wondering how long we would be on the final line. We decided to just skip it and jump into the Queen Mary. The first time we went during the week was alot more enjoyable and that was because it was less crowded. So I am not sure what to make of it. Over all I have mixed feelings and when you think how much you pay to get in and then everything inside. It is not the best place to entertain your child (family) if you are on a budget. If you have a date and just for two or adults you could probably get away with more. I only say that because the ship offers wine bar (a few bars) and Restaurant(s) with a excellent view of the marina. We enjoyed our hot coffee from the coffee shop. I have had great experiences and others not so memorable. The ice carving sculptors are impressive! That is a must! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! What a waste time and money! Very unorganized, overpriced, and most of the time was spent waiting in lines. We wasted over 6 hours there but only 1 hour was for ice skating. The rest of the time was waiting in lines and walking around. They should have a limit on how many tickets they sell. We paid around $40 per person including fees just to stand around and wait in lines. Thanks a lot! We got there when they first opened at 4:30pm thinking there would be parking. We waited in the car for an hour just to get to the main parking only to find out the lot was full (they could have signs early on to avoid this but nope). Since the lot was full, we drove to the Aquarium of the Pacific to park, and waited another hour just to take the bus to Queen Mary (because they only had one bus for that night or something). The bus did not drop us in front of Queen Mary so we still had to walk half mile to get to the front. If we knew this, we could have just walked 1.3 miles or took an Uber there. Once we got to the front, there was another long line to buy tickets (lucky we bought our tickets online so we did not have to wait). We finally got in at around 7pm! Wow really? 2.5 hours to finally get in. Everything was so unorganized there. You see long lines everywhere but no signs or anything to know what the lines are for. Since we waited all night, we thought might as well wait some more for ice skating. We were told 45 minutes to one hour wait, but half way in, they told us that we would have to wait additional 15-20 minutes so they can clean the ice. We didn't get to skate until 9pm. It was nice with all the beautiful lights but the area was so small and too many people!!! Overall, we did not do anything else there but ice skating and walking around to take some pictures. We were very disappointed and left at around 10pm. When we got out, we were happy to see a line right in front for the bus so we didn't have to walk half mile like earlier. However, after waiting for 30 minutes, the staff there told us to take the other bus saying it would be faster. We listened to him and walked half mile to the other bus station only to find another long line there. Faster my a$$! We got so mad so we just took an Uber back to the Aquarium parking structure. When we got there, we paid $15 only to find out parking was free that night? WTF! Oh, and we didn't get back to the car until after 11pm. So we spent over 6 hours that night for this stupid sh!t. I have made this place into an annual tradition with daughter ! We always love the themes of every. My daughter is now 14 Going on 15 this year and she can't wait to hear the announcement for this year CHILL. I don't like that parking is $25 they should make it free since we are already paying for an entrance and paying for the additional amenities but given we do live in LA it's not something out of the norm to pay especially since the place is located in LBC. Maybe a suggestion for the future CHILLS they can possible make sample food cards like $30 for card and you get to pick amongst the food items there. read more

I went to "Chill" last year (Jan 2016) for my first experience and it was pretty cool. For about $25 per person online you got to experience colorful Charles Dickens ice sculptures, ice slide (2 actual slides made out of solid ice), all in a 10°F dome. So cold but neat! They had a Santa's Village, skating rink (extra charge), indoor snow tubing slide, and rides too. It wasn't super fancy, but I gave it 3.9 stars back then. The only thing that really sucked was the parking cost $20 with no warning or other options, but lesson learned. Fast forward one year. Went back this time for my 2nd "annual" experience. Was expecting more of the same thing but better, with an Alice in Winterland theme this year, and they had some interesting scenery to walk through and take pictures of. Most of the same rides and attractions too. But one major thing missing: NO ICE! none at all. it wasn't even cold inside the dome. Total bummer. The only addition this year was you also get free admission to walk around the Queen Mary (just OK), and a Polar Express movie 4D experience, which is fine for little kids but didn't want to wait in an hour+ line for this. I give the overall experience 1.9 stars, two stars lower than years past. Don't go until they bring the ice back!! I want my real CHILL experience again. read more

Basically everything about this place is OVERPRICED! If we had to pay full prices like $50 ticket per person and $18 event parking, I'd be really really pissed! So glad we got half off tickets and dinner aboard The Queen Mary so no parking fee. This place is mostly for children, North Pole village, swing ride, paintball gallery, Alice in Winterland maze, ice tubing and some other children friendly activities. The only place for 21 and over adults hang out and chill was the martini bar, $18 drink in a souvenir cup, $12 for refill. The vodka selection and mixology was decent, the gingerbread lemon drop martini I had was very strong and yummy. I do think that the entire place was very well decorated and so much fun to look at. The Alice in Winterland maze was particularly interesting, but the 20 minutes wait to get in was undesirable and annoying. There are food and drink vendors throughout the event place, again they were all overpriced. This place is fun but the problem is it's WAY overpriced for what it is, and it's another $15 for ice skating, that's just outrageous! I suggest get a coupon somewhere, don't pay full prices, come here earlier to get on board The Queen Mary too, that might get your money worth. Still don't come here if you don't have children, it was our little boy's 10th birthday so at least he had a much better time than us! NEVER coming back EVER! read more

This event was really disappointing. I thought there would be snow. Man-made snow, sure, but still snow of some kind would have been nice. My son and I both brought parkas which we had to carry around in the heat. Most of the event is just a carnival with a winter theme. Not worth the $40 entry. Thank goodness we had coupons and got in for $30 each. Still, my son is 13 and I had to pay the adult price. There were many photo ops with the props, a swing ride, ice rink and a two story slide he went down on an inner tube. He liked that ride. The Alice in Wonderland attraction was nicely decorated but crowded. You mainly just walk through the themed decorations. It would be great for a 5 year old. For a 13 year old, not so much. Bought a groupon for $22.50 and then read the bad reviews!! Yikes! This is my first time to the chill so I never experienced the ice sculptures from previous years. I went in a little skeptical and without high hopes that this place will be fun for the family but it was a lot of fun for all 12 of us! (ages ranging from 6 years to 45 years) We went early which was so nice because there were hardly any lines and spent a good 6 hours there! Once 5:00 pm hit, it got super busy! The Alice in wonderland was ok (and you don't need to buy the $9 ears to "enhance" the experience!) It had some cool themed rooms that the kids liked to run around in and lots of great photo op areas! The Glacier glide was a hit for everyone and it's included with the ticket and is unlimited. Kids went on at least 4 times. Ticket also includes admission on to the Queen Mary which if you've never been on, you should! It's old, yes but there's a lot of history and very nostalgic! The views on top is breath taking especially on a beautiful day like yesterday! There's even a 4D Polar Express show that you can watch on the ship for free! Lastly, we shelled out the extra $15 dollars each for 45 minutes of ice skating because it is outdoors and with the ship as the backdrop, you just gotta do it!! Only complaint is they let too many people on so it's a bit crowded when we were on so a little scary for the littles. If you don't know how to skate, you can rent a penguin that helps you hold on to your balance and you can scurry along better. Worth it so you're not on the ice floor or hanging on the rails the whole time! Only complaint I have is they nickel and dime you for everything!! It would be nice to include the interactive ears and the ice skating penguins for the littles that don't know how to skate. Parking is $18 which is a bit high but we expected that! I had read that the food is super expensive so we planned and ate at a nearby restaurant beforehand. The food is typical fair food if you do get hungry. There's also a cool swing but that is extra so we didn't do it! There's some inflatables and a giant rocking horse that is included in the ticket. Lines were a little long so we passed on them. Based on the name of the event I expected ice sculptures, snow, etc. basically a winter wonderland. I was ecstatic. However there wasn't anything remotely "winter" about the event. Parking was $18 You had to pay extra to get on swings, slide and ice skate. There were performances every few hours with carolers singing Christmas songs Inside the dome there was the Alice in Winterland maze which was very short there was a girl dressed as Alice a girl dressed as the snow queen, someone dressed as the queen of hearts and a person dressed like Chester the cat. The maze was beautifully decorated with lights there is a room full of the doors a room full of beautifully illuminated flowers and that was it outside of the dome there were a few food vendors with overpriced foods.what was cool about the admission to chill is that it allowed you to tour the Queen Mary. Such a disappointment. This was our first time to this event, which we decided to embark on based on the website videos and details and past visitor reviews. First off, apparently this year was nothing like previous years according to folks who had visited years prior that I shared my disappointment withe with after... Literally misnamed, no CHILL at all, no ice, no snow, no sculptures... Just fake itchy snow fluff that lined certain areas and walkways. The only "cold" part was the slide. It reminded me of a sad knock off town carnival. Don't get me wrong, I love carnivals, but this was the kind where the attractions seemed sketchy (carousel was so janky!) and everything smelled bad. Parking was $18 on top of the ticket price. Do they think they're Disneyland?? The full price ticket costs just under $50 bucks (I can't imagine the angry review I would be writing if I had paid that instead of the $23 Living Social deal). It was also laid out really weird and we never found the ice skating rink or the giant rocking horse until we got on the Queen Mary and got a bird's eye view of the parking lot... The few attractions they did have (Alice walk through maze, slide, carousel) each had over a 30 minute wait and up to 60 minutes (for the Polar Express activity). Again, holy moly do they think they're as good as Disneyland!! Overall, it just wasn't a good time nor worth the cost or the drive. I will not be visiting again. It seriously sucked. HOWEVER, the silver lining to the entire day was being able to get onto the Queen Mary. It was awesome with so much historical value and knowledge. I don't understand why they charge so much to get in here. I really don't get it. It's pretty expensive to get in and they charge you individually also for different activities like the tube slides, chair swing and ice skating. One benefit is that you can also get on two the Queen Mary for free so if you go early you will have ample time to run around the ship. There is a wintery maze to go through and see some Christmasy displays. There is the big chill ice sculpture maze that ends in the ice slide. To get in here you HAVE to wear one of their ugly big blue long jackets. Last year the ice sculptures were colorful and cute with animals and candy displays. This year it was drab and boring, but did depict the A Christmas Carol story. Luckily I have a hook up so I have gotten in free, but having gone the last two years I wouldn't pay to get in. If you are still interested in going, try to get the Costco deal or a Groupon or something for some deep discounts. We were forewarned about the food here so we knew to bring our own food and drinks. Benson M's review does a good job of covering it, so I'll just add my perspective based on the fact that I paid, but I did at a discount going through Goldstar. QUICK INFO: - Buy discount tickets on Goldstar! - Parking is $15. - Turn right when you enter after the ticket arm, that'll be closer to the entrance. - Don't go to the Queen Mary, head towards the weird village-looking area and you'll see the entrance to Chill. - $13 for ice skating? I guess if you want to, but a little steep for me. - Don't pay for the tubing, there's a slide inside the Ice Kingdom and it's included in the price of admission. - Eat before or after you go, there are only 2 food vendors. - Wear a long parka/snowboard type jacket if you've got it, with a hat or something to cover your ears. And gloves are good but you can always stick your hands in your pocket. Tickets on Goldstar ranged from $10-12.50 + $4/ticket processing fee = $16.50 which is what I paid. For 6 of us that was almost $100 and if it wasn't my brother's birthday, I might have felt a little ripped off. Regular price is $25 for adults and $20 for kids. I think kids 4 and under are free. I feel that's pretty steep for what I experienced. When you pull into the Queen Mary area, you'll see a giant white dome - it's in there. When you pull into the lot, park towards your right. I was a little confused about where to go since there's a huge sign on the Queen Mary entrance with Chill on it but no clear direction as to where it was, at least none that I could see. So I walked to the Queen Mary box office, and they handled it there, but they said the Goldstar confirmation number didn't work for them. The lady just asked me to show her my purchase confirmation off my phone for the 6 tickets and off I went. You go towards the right to this weird little village area. There are the three flagpoles, that's where the entrance is and where you'll find the box office for the Chill exhibit. Just go there, so much easier. Anyway, you enter this fake Alpine Village looking area with some sad looking snowmen on display, people in winter costumes walking around. RadioDisney was there entertaining a bunch of kids, and there was a tent where you could buy Christmas/holiday decorations, etc. On the left you'll find a couple of food vendors, and then you'll see the ice skating rink. The pamphlet they give you is useless. I thought it would show you what was inside the Ice Kingdom, but it just showed a general map and with only one path, you're really not going to get lost, unless you just close your eyes. Head through the tent on your right to shortcut to the dome. Go in and you'll see a paper lantern looking archway. I was like, wtf, this better not all be paper lantern crap, but don't worry, it gets better. Even though there was probably only a line of about 20, we had to wait about 15 minutes to get inside to the tent inside the dome. I think they really try to control the number of people inside. This place definitely is not meant for mass crowds and once I got inside, I understood why and even appreciated them spacing it out. You go in and they offer you these blue knee-length parkas. Get one, it gets pretty cold and you want to be able to be in there long enough to take pictures. I brought a snowboarding jacket and that was fine, but I should've had a hood or a hat - something to cover my ears because I was afraid they had fallen off by the time I was done. Then you enter into this magical world of ice, which kind of reminded me of "It's a Small World" at Disneyland. They have sculptures made out of colored ice and a giant whale, the front of the Queen Mary - check out Benson's review. It was really cool, hahaha. We spent a lot of time taking pictures. The Whale is also a slide, but it's for kids only, sad face. But there is a bigger one for adults, so I don't see why you would want to pay for the tubing. This one's free and it was fun! I warn you though, the parkas help provide a smooth, slippery surface. My bro was in a sweatshirt and basically had to caterpillar his way down, which was hilarious. I laid on my back and you go faster that way. Wheeeeee! Then you enter an ice tunnel which takes you into a room with a panda and other fun toy sculptures. Then there was like a nativity-type area in the back and then you exit. So we probably spent about 45 minutes in there? Most of it was waiting for the slide, and taking tons of pictures. I think the entire experience is better for kids, just sliding through the whale is worth it, but for adults, maybe a good first date place? It was fun though and if cheaper, I would go back, but definitely not for the $25 regular price. Plus, parking was $15 for under 2 hours. read more

First time at the queen mary's chill and I was very disappointed. Thank goodness I didn't pay full price (got tickets on living social for ~$20 instead of $40). And parking was another $20. It was pretty small and I went through it all in about an hour. There's basically only like this slide where you sit in a tube and slide down, the ice kingdom (which shows a depiction of Scrooge's story through ice sculptures) and a slide at the end of the ice kingdom. I mean, the ice sculptures are pretty cool but it gets cold in there pretty quickly and you start to walk through there more quickly. But yeah. Everything else at the event costs extra like ice skating. Food/drinks are festival prices but I was already full when I came so I had even less to do. For some reason I was really confused and had no sense of direction and couldn't find my way to anything. Maybe it's just the layout of the place, maybe it's just me. Idk. Bf had the same problem. Maybe they need clearer signs. The staff seemed like blah, like they really didn't want to be there. Most were unhelpful, rude and seemed like they didn't give a crap about anything. Annoying. I waited at the entrance behind another group because I saw them getting wristbands and didn't know what it was. After the group left, the worker just went back to chat with the other workers. Uhmmmm hello??? Do you see me here, looking confused? I wanted to ask you a question.... But then they just went on to chat with their coworkers. Ugh. None of the workers seemed happy to be there. My friend works for Queen Mary so he hooked us up with free Elf passes and free parking:) I suggest you go on Groupon, Goldstar or Living Social to purchase your tickets in advance for cheap value versa Reg price of $39.99. As for parking maybe take Passport bus to save $20-30. With that said it's worth doing the package that includes rides and more. It was so much fun tubing. The best part was you get to go on everything unlimited of times. Perfect Saturday without a lot of people and long waits in line. So that was another plus. The not so great part was the ice sculptures. It def seems like there was less sculptures and all people/villagers. What happened to the cute bears, angels, santa, elfs, flowers and etc. Why people and fruits???? The best part of the night beside tubing was the 4D. We saw The Polar Express. It's was amazing. I felt like I was inside the movie. You get whipped from the sleigh, you smell hot chocolate, you physically feel the like your going down a roaster coaster, theres cold air, bubbles and water. It's the holiday season, and if you're in So Cal and you have relatives from out of town or children of any age- you're probably going to have to do the Queen Mary CHILL experience at least once. Get discounted tickets from Goldstar or Groupon or Living Social - don't pay full price! In its second year, this is basically an igloo, constructed next to the Queen Mary (QM) featuring 2 million pounds of carved and colored ice. An international crew of ice carving artists, mostly Chinese, created this spectacle. It's NINE degrees in there - that is the first thing you need to know! Plan & dress accordingly. And no strollers allowed. I worried that my new iPhone 6 would freeze. They do provide parkas to wear, but you'll need a hat and especially gloves. If you're a So Cal native like me, upon entering, the cold might take your breath away. My Cali lungs went into shock for a few moments... Yes, there are lines you have to stand in to get in. Yes, there are lots of photo ops inside that you must wait for. Yes, it's gorgeous. But it's also smaller than you think (see Cassandra's comment that she doubled back and saw it twice!). The centerpiece this year was the giant ice sculpture of the QM that you could climb aboard and inner tube down from. Cool. Plan to stay the WHOLE evening (to get your monies worth) because it starts at 7pm and the parking is $20! Ice skating is included but run over and sign up for a reservation before you get in the igloo line. All tubing is unlimited and free. The food is LA or OC Fair priced- expensive for mostly junk food. Eat before or eat afterwards. There is a BAR for adults right as you exit the igloo (Holiday Beach Bar on your map) on the right hand side. But I suggest you board the actual QM and go to Chelsea's Chowder House if you need to warm-up. Plus there's real booze up there on the boat too. Real bars. Real bathrooms (see below). The event also features a Bucking Reindeer ride for $5, the Michael Jackson Neverland Ranch Sky Swing for $5 (cool or ewww, you decide). You can also take the kiddies to meet Mr. & Mrs. Claus, make crafts with Santa's Elves, go visit the Gingerbread House on Candy Cane Lane, or go to Captain Teddy's Bounce House / Candy Cabe Boounce House (both free!). There's a Post Office where kids can get letters delivered to Santa. QM extras- Pajama Breakfast ($19 for kids, $39 for adults- on the QM). Private parties- rent a cabana for 10 for $99 adjacent to the skating rink. Take over the Gingerbread House for a private party- up to 40 people for $399. Or rent the Santa Claus Cabin for the same amount. And if you wanna get married- custom engagement packages are also, you got it, $399. The restrooms in the Village area are horrible upgraded porta potties with electric sensor door locks. One little boy got locked in and security had to be called. My advice- don't lock the door and have a friend stand in front of it for you. For this, Chill organizers are docked one star! Go to the QM for decent restrooms. Other entertainment in the Village: Magic Show, Drummer & Soldier Boyz, Ice Rink DJ's, Satin Dollz, and ice skating performances. On the QM, Caroling along the Promenade of Trees. Overall, I'd say it's something you gotta do once and it's a good way to get into the holiday spirit! read more

Even getting in for free, I didn't get my money's worth. But, it was cool. Literally. I went two years ago. Without more to offer to justify the $20 parking, the place shouldn't cost more than an Imax 3D movie. That said, there are lots of photo opps (and that's not counting the food, which doesn't count, hipsters), but little more than some fun ice skating, a weird stroll through a 7 degree ice sculpture land in thick blue robe jackets (*which I heard was not present this year), and a butt-numbing slide down an ice slide. 7pm on a Sunday night! (11/24/13 to be exact!) Came here last year with the bf. Tickets this year online are $30 including ice skating or inner tubing. Last year was $25 and ice skating was an extra $13. I was able to use a promo code (which is expired now) to get $15 including ice skating or tubing!! Score! Parking is $20. If you're patient and wanna save $12, park in the parking structure at Aquarium of the Pacific. It's $8 (card accepted!) and there is a FREE bus that drops you off at QM!! (LBtransit.com) The ride to QM took 6 mins! Inside Chill, there are more decorations than last year! Definitely a step up! I saw nutcracker dudes walking around, you can take a picture with Santa, ride a gigantic rocking horse, and watch the free entertainment - a group of dancers and singers who were pretty good! Mrs. Gingerbreadwoman stole my bf and danced with him which was hilarious! Ice kingdom itself was amazing of course. I would suggest dressing extra warm because I tried on 2 parkas (provided for you) with broken zippers as well as my bf's! I didn't experience any long waits at all! Our "reserved time" was 8:30pm.. So we went at that time and no one was in line which was awesome! Not very many people inside so we were able to take tons of amazing pictures and got thru the whole thing in 20 minutes! Ice skating was included in our ticket BUT you gotta pay for rentals. Go to the ticket booth in front of the rink to pay for rentals. It will save you time because everyone including us waited in line at the rink just to be told to purchase skate rentals first! 2 pairs of skates - $5.90. Then proceed into the rink to sign waiver, show your tix and get your skates! The one thing I absolutely hate about Chill and Dark Harbor are the terribly disgusting PORT O POTTIES!! I made the mistake of having a drink beforehand and I HAD to go in. They're the "nice" ones that flush, have a light and sink but of course the toilets are too clogged to flush! I went into 2 diff ones and the sinks didn't even work. Just don't look, hold your breath, and bring hand sanitizer!! We saved about $42 by waiting for a deal and parking at aquarium so I'm pretty happy! My bf and I had a great time last year and we did again this year! We bought tickets through Gold Star. What a deal. Totally worth $13.95. I don't know if I would have paid the $20 per adult. PLUS $20 to park. If you are gonna pay $20 to park, you should make a day of it and also visit the Queen Mary and eat lunch on the ship. As for the actual event. 4 stars! My son (7) loved it. We didn't upgrade for the tubing or ice skating. He was happy with the slide that was inside the dome. My daughter (3) did NOT like the cold at all. Pros: - Super cool ice art! Colored ice and lights inside each sculpture - 2 Free ice slides inside the dome. - lots of cool set ups for pictures - they have parkas for you, Adult XL - Child XS Cons: - regular door price is $$ -Parking is $20 - outside food and activities are extra and $$ TIPS: * Gloves are a MUST * Do NOT wear flip flops, sandals, heals , or any open toed shoes * Cover up. You don't want too much of the parka touching your bare skin. A nice holiday event that reminds me of a smaller version of the OC fair. The event itself is adjacent to the Queen Mary not inside it as I had envisioned. There were food/snack booths sparsely stationed along the perimeters of the camp ground. Everything seemed very spread out. Here's the break down: What stood out: the ice skating rink; ice kingdom where you're in a freezer with fabulous ice sculptures, there's also a bar for adults in the ice kingdom and a pub outside of it (really?) Price of ticket: $17/person on Groupon and $35/person regularly Parking: private lot but be prepared to pay $20/vehicle Other expenses: food/drinks/snacks booths, paint ball, ice skating, etc. will cost you additional $$ Bonuses: you can tour the Queen Mary and watch 4-D movie for 20 minutes in its theater. I went back to CHILL again this year, 3rd year in a row, family tradition! This time I got my Groupon, and went on the Monday of Thanksgiving week. Man, was it busy! Incase you are planning to visit CHILL this year, I would like to note that they have changed things up, and it's in a way that you need to be aware of so you can plan. For CHILL they are now having general admission for the Ice Kingdom only, no timed entry. For an extra $20pp you can get the Elf Pass to go up to the front of the line, but for a family of 4 that's $80! So I recommend getting there either right at 5 to go to the Ice Kingdom or right at the end at 9. When we walked out at 9:30, there was no line. Otherwise expect a 90 minute line. Hopefully someone in your group is nice enough to wait in this line. QUEEN MARY people - if you are reading this I beg of you to please re-instill the timed entry next year for the Ice Kingdom. I am less inclined to come annually if I have to wait 90 minutes. Asking people to pay $20pp to go to the front of the line is ridiculous for any family. Further, if you decide to ice skate it is included with general admission. When you enter Chill, I recommend going straight to the ice skating rink and getting your pass to come back to skate. They sell out for all the time slots, and if you don't get a pass you have to wait in the line in standby for the 1 hour timeslot that you would like to skate during, and then at that point you may not get in.....and that would blow if you're kids really want to skate (or you for that matter!) Here's another tip - because the line for the Ice Kingdom is so long, people don't realize they can go in the dome to tube, so the tubing line is very reasonable. You enter and stay to the right to get in the tubing line. Great thing to do while you are waiting to skate or waiting to get into the Ice Kingdom and have someone saving your place in line. This year, the Ice Kingdom is really lovely. I loved the theme, seemed more beachy, and then also nativity/religious and the Queen Mary slide was fantastic. Four slides from the top, this setup is smart! Easy to go down the slide without waiting too long. Bring your gloves and hat. Even if it's 60 outside it's FREEZING in here. That's kind of the point :)! Also, there's a lot of food options, pizza, fries, hot dogs, chicken kabobs, fried oreos, tacos. You will be able to eat here for sure. Two bouncies - one for big kids in the shape of the Queen Mary, one for the littles. The Candy Cane village is there and...the swings straight from MJ's Neverland Ranch! Only in LA! Wow they sure did step it up this year. Holy Cow This year's event us unbelievable and huge! They added zip lining, bumper boats, and even have a Russian Ice Vodka Bar! The ice-skating is HUGE. They added lanes that let you skate around all the attractions. You can even skate right into an Igloo bar. The Igloo cabanas are decked out to the 9's. They are the cutest thing I've ever seen and so stylish. I want to go back and rent one for my girlfriends. This year is an International theme with ask different types of food and drinks. They even have an Alpine Cabin. It's pretty amazing what they put together this year. I'm very impressed. I hope they keep it like this and extend it to go on even longer! read more

Got tickets through Goldstar $65 for two, but I think the website has good ticket packages. Husband and I came on a Saturday afternoon. It was busy!!! It was small but a good size, spent a good 2 hours eating the fair food such as deep fried Snickers. Looked at the ice kingdom. Impressive ice block sculptures. People aren't supposed to touch the ice but kids were scratching their names on them while their parents just watched said "ohh you are a tagger now" and smiled. Some adults who couldn't handle walking around or waiting in the lines for the slides sat on the ice! It said not to touch! Why would your fat ass be an exception?! So many people don't seem to appreciate or respect others' hard work. Anyway, blue parkas are provided although many are missing the zipper handle and the velcro don't always stay. I brought my own gloves and I'm glad I did! With our tickets we also got access to the Queen Mary hotel / ship. That was cool since we've never been but it was a little odd since it is an active hotel and we were just wondering around the ship. There weren't any guides. We also went down the ice slide inside! Fun! Lean back to go faster! We forgot to go down the tubing! Oh yeah parking was $20 :( I would still recommend. read more

This place was okay, but definitely not what it's all cracked up to be. Street Fair / Market Night quality with Disneyland pricing inside the venue. No need perching the fast pass for the lines. There are only 3 things you can use it on. The ice skating, tubbing slide and bumper cars. If your child is under 40" then you can only ice skate. In fact I bought 2 adult, 1 child ticket and 3 fast passes. Come to find out online if the child is 3-8 years of age you need a child ticket. However, at the venue 3 and under are free and 4-8 need a child ticket. Odd. ***See my photos for details. I took a picture at the ticket booth. Spent about an hour of my time being told to go to different places to get this matter resolved. I also brought it to there attention that no where online did it say a hight limit for any rides. I found this disappointing when I had to tell my daughter All she could do was watch. Last two issues, One, you need tickets to do any craft for the kids. $5 for 1, $19 for 4, or $45 for 10. Second the bathroom are poorly kept portables. For as much as you pay to get in this vary small venue and the extreme mark up you can at least keep the bathroom clean or select a higher stander of portable. Not worth the time, drive or money. So much fun and perfect for the little ones. Queen Mary Chill is the annual holiday celebration at the Queen Mary in Long Beach. They have a activities for the entire family. Live holiday performances, food, an Enchanted Forest, an ice igloo where you can do: ice tubing, and view the ice sculptures and slide down an ice slide - all in 9 degrees Fahrenheit. For the 21+ crowd they have an ice bar inside where you can keep warm by sampling vodka (additional fee). Also they have ice skating (additional fee) and have added paintball hunting (additional fee) where you shoot at Yetis that have stolen Santa's candies!! Tickets range from $24.99 (child 4-11) and $34.99 for adults. Unfortunately, the general admission ticket does not include all the activities but go on their website for ticket specifics. read more

Came here two years ago and would have given it a 5 star review...this year has become a total scam for your money!!! Be warned this is now a huge waste of time and money!!!! Parking: 1 hour wait! Yes one hour; the staff for whatever staff there is lack the control and authority to manage even parking. Two lanes open yet cars cut on the sides and the staff is totally fine with it which makes it such a slow process. Once parked, you'll find the men working this part don't even know what is going on as they were all very rude and very unprofessional. Event: whew....this is where it gets nuts. ONE HOUR MINIMUM just to get in!!! You can't even opt to go on the ship until you wait in this one hour check in line. No staff whatsoever to direct or help you besides one lady under a tent. Furthermore, there are only 3 bathrooms outside the venue which creates another massive problem. Overall after waiting 25 minutes to get into the event, I left after they said it's another hour to get in. ALSO, the staff totally understands the line situation as they told us at the ticket booth that we couldn't get in person refunds and online it probably wouldn't happen just because the "line is too long" Seriously, if you have kids or a large family, don't waste the time and effort to bring them here. Wow! CHILL has def stepped it up this year! Tbh, I have not really enjoyed the past few year's CHILL but this year's CHILL is completely different. It's supposed to be like an international celebration of the Holidays. There are different countries throughout the event like China, Germany and Switzerland. There's different performances going on throughout the entire night as well. There are also several additional rides here this year. Aside from the ice skating, rocking horse and tubing slide; there is also a zipline, bumper boats and a bike ride. We got to do everything except for the rocking horse. The zipline was really fun! There is only 2 ziplines and the line does take a little while to get through. The bumper boat was a lot of fun but sometimes it would not work properly as I was seeing from other people. There is also a 4D Rudolph movie located inside the boat for guests to see that has paid for it. The ice skating is huge! There's a spot for people to ice skate and then it splits into lanes that people can go down. There is also different foods throughout the event that would match up with the country you were in. The dumplings were pretty good. One issue that I kept coming across though was that they were always running out of hot cocoa! Out of the entire event there was only ONE place selling hot cocoa. What?! For an event this size with this many people there's only one space?? Well as far as I'm concerned, I was only directed to one place for hot cocoa, I'm not sure if there was anymore elsewhere. The pricing is pretty steep as well. $29 for adults with only admission, ice skating, tubing and access to Queen Mary. $79 is for what the $29 has plus zipline, bike ride, bumper boats, 4D show & I think that's its. THAT IS EXPENSIVE! On top of that is $20 parking as well. I'm glad I was able to enjoy this for a media event or else I would not be paying that much. read more

What is up with the music BLASTING near the bumper boat line? You have to wait in line a long time and there is a speaker right there BLARING something I guess you could call music. Absolutely terrible listening to that racket! The bumper boat entrance is not labeled at all. It took me a while to find the line. Then after waiting I was then told that I needed to buy a ticket. Why not have a sign out front by the entrance telling us that? * The tubing was fun - there was hardly any line. * Parking was a breeze. Go as early as you can on a weekday like I did. * There were nice decorations, especially the lights. * Skip the actual Queen Mary. It's old and so boring. Not much to see there. We visited The Chill on Christmas Day. The line to get in was long but it was a lot of fun. My kids loved the ice bumper cars and tubing. They had a few other rides, zip line and bike riding on ice (?!?) that my kids weren't interested in. I expected there to be more rides then there were. I really had high hopes despite the low ratings on Yelp. Inside, you will find a gingerbread house, a performance stage, ice skating rink, a ride from Micheal Jackson's neverland ranch, souvenir shop, ice kingdom (everything is made out of ice), and snow tubing. With your admission, you can go into the Queen Mary for free. The outside area looks like a small county fair filled with overpriced food. My favorite was the snow tubing and the ice kingdom. Other than those two, there really isn't much to do here. I definelty wouldn't spend the full price for admission...but its cool to check out once, especially if you have little ones. I bought 2 VIP tickets from Costco for 54.99. You can also go on Groupon for discounted tickets too. I think the regular price of admission is 46 per person. The VIP tickets arent worth it. Chill ice adventure...kind of disorganized...no signs as to what line is to what. We hace to keep asking people in line what the line is for. It doesnt say ticket required at the front od the line. So we go in line and by the time its almosy our turn we learn thay we need a tix. One ticket is $5. Zip line requires 3 tix. Biking on the ice 1 tix. He rest we didnt even bother asking. Ice skating is free, tubing slide is free. Hot chocolate will cost u $6 for a tiny cup add whipped cream for a $1. Hard pretzel for $5 . $20 to park. And port o potty for the restroom..dark no light inside .so try uring youre phone as a flashlight and trying to go is challenging...no toilet paper. No soap to wash hands. So i dont know how sanitary people handling food are. I suggestbring gloves if u have any...soap and water or lots of sanitizers. read more

We will probably never return to the Queen Mary Chill Event. The tickets are pretty expensive to begin with, like $50 a piece. I'm glad we didn't pay the regular price because I would feel even more robbed than I already do. We got a Groupon, which still cost $20 a piece, and for what you get it's still way too much money. For 3 of us it was $55 and then it was $18 for parking. It was our first time coming here so we didn't know what to expect. It's located next to the Queen Mary and some of it is outside in the open air and some of it is inside of a dome. When you first enter, there's a little village with nothing to do; you have to walk about 50 feet through this area that's purely the facade of a small town and there's nothing to do. OK. The first thing you get to is the Santa house. We stood in line for it because why not, there were only four people in line. I don't know what happens inside because we stood in line for 15 minutes and the line didn't move so we left because my daughter lost interest. I would hate to think how long it took for the people behind us, or for the people who come when it's crowded. The next thing was the gingerbread house, a gingerbread craft costs at least $16 and then when you sit inside the staff tries to "help/entertain" you while you're decorating your cookies, which was kind of awkward for us because we were the only ones in there at the time and I seriously don't know what to do when people are singing to me. Do I look at them? Do I ignore them and keep making my cookie? Do I sing along even though I don't want to? Pretty much everything here costs money and is way over priced. All of the food is carnival food that people whip up in their little food carts or stands and they like $10 for an ice cream cone and $18 for a soda in a souvenir cup like we're at Disneyland or something. We got mini churros from a dessert stand and they were cold so they just tasted like crunchy, sugary, cold oil sticks and they offered to "microwave" them for us. Ummmmm how about make me some fresh ones since you dropped three of them before you gave them to me and I said don't worry about it, and you charged me $8? The free stuff was nothing to get excited about either. They had a bounce house that you would have at your house for a 5 year old's birthday party, and they only had one. They had a giant metal rocking horse that you sit in and a man rocks it by hand.........seriously. They had the ice slides, which were actually fun, but then you have parents who don't watch their kids and they want to cut everyone, but I'm the one who's out of line when I tell them not to shove or cut in front of my kid... OK. And then they have the Alice in Wonderland maze which is nice to look at and go through, but honestly once is enough, and we only went through a second time to feel like we got our money's worth out of the experience. They also try to get you to spend $5 each for some headphones at the beginning that will talk to you while you walk through. No thank you. This place is all about the upsell. So no, with all of the ridiculous prices and rude people, we will not be returning. read more

Chill was a good experience. I saw the bad reviews here so i prepared myself to get there early. There was already a line to wait to enter at 4pm so we managed to get in when it opened at 4:30pm. Make sure you go there early to avoid huge crowd and long lines!! The first thing we did was to get our ice skating shoes. You can hang on to them for the whole night until you decided not to skating anymore. Since we have a toddler so we took turns doing skating while the other one watched the kid and rest. Decorations were very beautiful and thoughtful. We didn't do any activity that cost extra since most of those activities required 40" tall. Food was pretty pricy in these type of events which are typical. We left around 8pm and went for dinner elsewhere. Overall, it could be a very enjoyable event if you prepare to get there early!!! read more

I came here the very first time Chill opened about 3 years ago. It's suppose to be a Xmas experience which it still is minus the ice sculptures. They added the Alice in Wonderland maze which to be honest isn't christmassy but was pretty neat. I think the ticket is over priced for the experience and should be lowered since you have to pay for additional activities inside. We bought a family pack online which was 5 tickets for $30 a piece. I believe that the regular ticket is $45 and you may find cheap deals on groupon but those are for weekdays only. Included with ticket: -Entry to Chill and Queen Mary Ship. -jump in bounce house which is tiny and mainly for toddlers -ride the rocking horse which is pushed and rocked by an employee, not very amusing at all. -unlimited rides on the swings. This is usually good about two times and then I'm over it. -unlimited ice tubing in the dome which is pretty fun but again gets old after a few slides. Slides are not that big or long. -access to the Alice and Wonderland maze which is interactive and bright. The maze is really cool and I enjoyed all the bright colors and things to look at. Makes for great photos and some cool conversations and interactions. Going on the Queen Mary is lovely. You get some beautiful views on the ocean and a history lesson while going they the museum area. Every single workshop inside you have to pay for such as making your stocking, gingerbread house, photos with Santa, writing a letter to Santa, paintball shooting thru a maze, and a few more. These activities I feel should be a lot cheaper than they were or the entry fee should be less. The food is like carnival food. It's overpriced and huge. We ordered a chicken kabob which fed three. It was really good but the side of fries fell short. I ordered a coffee and paid $5 for the smallest cup you can get at 7-11, nothing special. I did enjoy my time here with the family however and we had a good time with everything we did. We made it fun and enjoyable but I can see where people have disappointments. read more

It was my daughters birthday. I thought taking her and her favorite cousins would be a good idea. I told them to make sure to dress warmly. The lines to the entrance were not long. I bought the Family Pack deal online for $149. ::Food:: We got nachos which wasn't that good because the Asada was overdone. The Corn on the Cob was good. They serve pricey fair foods. ::Experience:: What a disappointment, a waste of time, and money! We were all looking forward to the ice sculptures but instead, we saw a pop-up cloth material Alice and Wonderland theme in lights. That's it, just lights for $149! Well, we got to go on the tube slide for free but to me, it was not worth it. At the entrance of Alice and Wonderland, they will sell you Bunny Ears, Princess Tiara, or hats for $9. Why? To give you a not so interactive experience (in my opinion). While you walk around, some sections will indicate to "use the special ear/tiara/hats" so something magical can happen. Would I recommend buying it? No, I wish I could get a refund. There was also ice skating, ice tubing, carousel, face painting, caricatures, paintball experience, large rocking horse, and bounce house, etc; most of these activities are not free. The only upside I could think of is being able to go on the Queen Mary Ship for free. ::Customer Service:: Friendly. ::"MeH" Moment:: Prior to entering the Alice and Wonderland event, you will be asked if you would like to buy a Bunny Ears Headband to use so it gives an interactive experience. So last year's Queen Mary Chill was amazing.... this year not so much. Huge dissappoinment! No ice... one Alice and Wonderland Maze, very short. One "ice" slide. Paimtball shooting that you have to pay for. Swing out side that you have to pay for. Not to mention... the food. Oh but I will mention the food. From the first year they offered Chill, we always had fun. However this year it is, as many others have said, the most dissapointing. Unfortunately this event is no longer anywhere near the whimsical winter 'magic' of years past. The ice sculptures are missing. Replaced by wire framed /fabric sculptures. It is themed to Alice in Wonderland. While cute, if you do not purchase an up charge hat most of the interactive aspects of the 'maze' would be lost. As others have said it is all about nickel and dining you. Upcharges galore- everything is an extra charge, and the food is over priced fast food. $8 for a slice of pizza and $6 for a soda. Then $20 to park. The best part of this year's event is the ice tubing slide. And that gets old quick after one or two runs. They really missed the mark this year. read more
