Traditional local pub (my local in fact). Made up of a main bar, lounge, conservatory and large outside seating area this a sprawling establishment that has no pretensions. Great in the summer where the picnic style tables are jam-packed with couples and families alike, and the childrens play area is heaving. Also a hive of activity into the Autumn and winter, with plenty of organised events.
The beer is cheap and cold, and the ambience is relaxed and friendly. Its the kind of place where the world seems to turn more slowly and evenings stretch on infinitely. Clientele ranges from 20-50 and everyone rubs along nicely - I have never ever seen a whiff of trouble here.
Not for you if you don't take to strangers telling you their life story - cos they will. Everyone knows each other - and if they don'y they make it their mission to get to know you by the end of the night!!
p.s Next doors rabbit is also known to put in an apearrance from time to time - I have never seen a bunny so large in all my life. read more
