This newspaper is fair, well-balanced, and extremely important to its loyal readership in Washington County, Maine. Excellent reporting, and the editing and publishing are top notch. A bi-weekly, super-informative publication. We all eagerly await the second and fourth Fridays of the month when the latest Quoddy Tides hits the newsstand. Other local papers, maybe are "thumb throughs while waiting to check out at the local gas station"...The Quoddy Tides is the newspaper that comes home with me, that I read cover to cover. Other local papers tend to overuse spot color...but not well...so they tend to look like the funnies (Sunday Comics) and bleed their lines. I have noticed a lot of care and effort is made by The Quoddy Tides in regard to layout and color is kept to a minimum. The Quoddy Tides just looks so much more tasteful and serious, you just know the information within the pages is going to be accurate, unbiased, and so well-written. The Quoddy Tides proves that when something is done right it stands the test of time. Here's to another fifty-one years to this literary institution. read more
