The driven pheasant hunt at The Rackett was truly a unique a wingshooting experience for me. I'm used to South Dakota style pheasant hunting and Minnesota tower shoots/European hunts as some clubs call them. I was told by the owner Stan Baker this was as close to a traditional British or English driven pheasant hunt as possible here in the United States. The difference being game keepers in Europe being able to take care of 100% of the predators in a legal and legitimate fashion. Anyway, we had 9 hunters and rotated to the different pegs on the historic Bison peak. The birds were presented in a truly sporting way which resulted in me shooting great on some pegs and terrible in others. We took a break for lunch and hunted the rest of the day in the field hunt watching our dogs work in the field from the birds from the morning shoot. The Rackett is a truly unique experience and Stan Baker is a excellent host - he's passionate about shooting and making sure his guests have a great time.
