I've been to this place once before and this was my second visit, I think it is getting worse. So, the best thing about this place is the amazing vibes. It's on the rooftop and I was lucky on the two times to have sitting outside. The scene of London from this place is breathtaking! The drinks selection is not too bad. Now, the negatives, although we booked days in advance, we had to wait for a while to be seated. The tables and seats were not that clean and the service was a bit slow. The food is variety is wide, but the presentation of the food could have been better. There is a lot of potential in this place, but maybe needs a better management. read more

Want to sip fancy cocktails and take in gorgeous views of London? Come to Radio Bar. My first day in London, my gal pal and I wanted to spend the afternoon rooftop bar hopping. I hopped on Yelp and saw that Radio Bar was just down the street of where we were, so we walked on over. Located on the rooftop of the ME London hotel in Covent Garden, it was a little difficult to find at first, but once we got to the hotel, we asked someone in the lobby how to get to the bar and they let us right up. Once the elevators opened, we were treated to a beautiful, modern restaurant and a patio with never ending views of London and a comfy lounge atmosphere. We were able to grab a seat on the patio right away and plopped down on the comfy plush lounge seats. Now beware, if you aren't looking to spend money and are on a tight budget, then don't come here because everything on the menu is pricey. But that being said, everything on their food and drink menu looked delicious. For drinks we both got the "The Pink One" which had edgerton gin and pomegranate and basil tonic with raspberries. For a warm day, this drink was tasty and refreshing. For food, we split the cheese platter and French fries. The French fries weren't your typical skinny potatoes, these ones were thick rectangles all stacked on top of each other, sprinkled with Parmesan on top. No complaints over here, because both the fries and cheese platter were delicious! Service was fantastic. She had some great recommendations and made sure to check up on us regularly. I couldn't think of a better way to start our afternoon of day drinking. This was the perfect spot to enjoy delicious cocktails and food with friends all while taking in stunning views of the city. This review is for their afternoon tea. For tea this is a hidden gem. We stayed at the hotel so it was one of the reasons we came for this. I compared it to what is thought to be the best "The Ritz" and from the pictures and what I experienced, this is much better. The food itself is much more interesting than the standard traditional teas. This had some fusion elements that made the experience really interesting. The best of the sandwiches that I had were the standard ham a cheese and the quail egg salad. The scones were out of this world with the amazingly heavy cream and by the time we got to the desserts we were so full I could just have a bit of each to try them. Along with this we also had a mixed drinks with champagne. They have about half a dozen teas. The kicker is the rooftop is outdoors with very nice views of the city. The Ritz has a requirement of a jacket and tie. This place has no code so you can relax as you sip your tea. read more

On a recent visit to London, this was a very fortuitous find! Pros: -Close to many of the theatres, ie, perfect if you want to carry on for a drink or two after - The views. Oh my. There are outdoor heaters, and if that's not enough, cover yourself in one of the fleece blankets scattered around, viola! Still cold? Don't worry, the bar has an indoor part as well and you can still enjoy the ambience and the views. -Cocktails. Mmm, cocktails. There were good alright. -Space. Well, at least when we were there. It wasn't packed. It was a Sunday evening though, do perhaps that has to do with the fact it's a night for holidayers or hardcore revellers only. Cons: -Price. Well... Those drinks... Can be a little pricy. Do you really might need to stick to just one so as not to break the bank. -Queues. As above, it was pretty good when we went. On a Sunday. We walked straight in. But I'm told there's queues at other times, so beware. Don't know if they take bookings as we walked in unplanned off the street, but might be worth looking into that. Overall, we loved this place. Yes it's a bit dear, I do get the sense that unless you're loaded you wouldn't come here every night, but to treat yourself every once in a while, this is a great spot. While we were there, in walked in what looked like an Indian Maharaja (yes, seriously) all decked out in traditional garb, and his equally impeccably dressed bedazzling female companion. The Radio Roof Top bar is situated just off the strand, opposite the Waldorf Astoria. There was a small q to get in but the weather was good so that wasn't a problem. ( this is the only semi negative thing I can say about this place ) When we got in, it was well worth the wait! The views are amazing! There are two balconies with views around London. The drinks were really nice. A few good cocktails and also some nice red wine. Staff were good. very professional and helpful! Great place for a few drinks and open til 3 at the weekend! Oh my, I am not a bar person but I am really impressed by this place. It was before Christmas and we booked a table for about 20 people and there was a minimum charge but we got over that quickly. The weather was a tad cold but they had heating outside on the terrace and so the people who sat under the heat lamp was fine whilst the other ones had to down more alcohol to keep warm. The decor is very classy, the view over London amazing, and the clientele are all very posh looking and looked like a lot of people were having a good night out. Drinks were quite expensive as per usual. I had the cocktail called "Winter in Pink" and severely regretted it. It tasted a bit like medication. Otherwise, the boys ordered red wine, and also two tiny kegs of mulled wine which tasted really nice actually! Food was decent, had calamare and some other bits and bobs and whilst not the best food, it fills the belly. Conclusion: Good place to go to impress mates on a night out. read more

When you pay a lot for a cocktail it should come with something extra and what I like about Radio bar is that cocktails are served with a view! Not only that, but it's location above the ME Hotel on The Strand means you can see far and wide over the London skyline. I've been late at night and early evening and the best time is early evening as you get to take photos when the sun's up and when it's set and London's all lit up. And that's why you visit a bar like Radio - to take lots of pics on social media to show your mates what fancy places you go to. Or is that just me? I know its not as there must have been 20 people taking a pic at the same time as me. Be warned that it's not for the spontaneous - if you think you might want to go then you need to email or call to get on the guest list. I had been waiting forever to try this place, was just never in the vicinity with the right people I guess. The ground floor staff were helpful and chatty pointing us in the right direction. The young lady on the lift door was very chatty and went into deep conversation about footwear with one of our party. Once you board the lift and get up to the roof, your options are have you booked? just a walk up, want a table inside or outside. We were just a walk up and as it was a sunny day it was busy. We could not get an outside table as there were none available so the option is offered to share sofa's, which we did. As it was a cloudless sunny afternoon we shared one of the sofa's which was exposed to the sun, you get table service which is always welcomed. Once we had perused the menu and decided on what to drink the attentive waiting staff were quick to recognise this. Would they be as quick if it was a sunny summer evening? I will try and get back there on one of those evenings to find out. They have a food menu which we did not look at so I cannot really comment aside from the fact that the burger a couple had across from us looked and smelled very good. They also have a room at the end of the roof which looks as though it is available for hire, how much that would cost is a good question. I liked it up here and it was a shame that I had other things to attend to that evening otherwise it might well have turned into food as well as drink. Definitely going to go back!! read more

Regarding the crowd, let's just say that not feeling old for once was nice. My review so far is only for an afternoon snack on a Thursday. I will be going to the brunch on Saturday and hope to be able to update this to something better. I can't really gauge the food or the drink or the prices because after waiting 35 minutes for a server and trying to flag one down, I got absolutely nowhere. Most people here were pretty dressed up, but not much more than I was. I was by myself and I am staying at the hotel. I asked for a table for one so I could grab a quick snack, a drink and do some work. The work got done and the table happened, but even making eye contact and waving down a server (literally) resulted in absolutely no service. Highly highly highly disappointed. My local friends want to come here for brunch on Saturday so I am hoping we have a much better experience and I can update the review. read more

The rooftop bar at the ME hotel is newly opened but already attracts big queues on sunny days. We managed to get in immediately on a not so sunny midweek evening without queuing, and can understand the popularity. A beautifully lit space with floor to ceiling windows, and a lovely outdoor terrace with fabulous views, that was unfortunately unheated and chilly on the night we visited. It attracted a beautiful crowd and the gorgeous waitresses are friendly and helpful. The cocktails were well made and a very reasonable £11-12. Definitely a contender for a repeat visit. read more

I cannot dissuade people enough from going here. Having been for the first time last night, I can guarantee that this will likely be the only time. One of the worst evenings I have had at a bar of this level, and it was entirely due to the incredibly poor service from be staff. Being incredibly slow and inattentive the whole evening, it came to a resounding end when we were overcharged on our bill by £240. To the best of my knowledge I have never had to query the bill I have received at a bar before, let alone one that purports to be of such a high standard as Radio Rooftop. Then, after contesting the bill, the waitress admitted that she thought we had ordered a different wine, and so served that to us instead yet insisted that we should still be liable to pay for it. I've never heard such poor logic. Adding insult to injury, they had the nerve to find it appropriate to charge a very generous service charge on top. The whole evening was really sullied and I canny recommend enough for people not to go here. Save your money, and take it to Sushi Samba or Maddison's instead. Much more worth it. read more

The Radio Bar is perched on top of the ME hotel and the view is especially lovely. Four of us stopped by for a quick drink on a Thursday afternoon. We wanted it to be quick, but after ordering, our drinks took especially long to get to us. I think 4 drinks took maybe 25 minutes to get to our table?? If the drinks weren't good then I would've docked them on the star rating but I think this day we were just being a bit impatient because we had to get somewhere. The drinks are pricey, of course, you're paying for the view. I would like to come back sometime and check out the night scene. read more

Summary: Gorgeous views of the city. Ideal to know someone staying there and to go early on beautiful days. Call early in the day for a reservation. The phone line ties up as it's 1 line for all the different "stuff" in the hotel. This is similar to the Gansevoort hotel vibe if you're from NYC. The Atmosphere: The whole hotel is 1 very thoughtful club and if management is smart, they would just do some crazy event that involved all of the spaces. I mention this because reception - located in the center of the hotel on floor one, has walls like a pyramid with a point that ends on the bar. It's really cool to look down at that as well as the gorgeous 360 views of the city. Even before you step onto the terrace, you've got this image of Big Ben in front of you. The Decor: White and modern is the look which is perfect as it takes nothing away from the brilliant view. The Drinks: I would say they are on the better end of mixology. I found my bloody mary to be perfection - a rare thing outside of vegas or a few favorite spots here and there. I watched them makes loads of other delicious concoctions; real recipes. Ladies will love this spot for the mixology for sure. The people: I would say it was a scene. Some tourists from the hotel, some locals in full regalia. Men are in suits and look smart. Ladies are typically wearing their best, though I was more casual. This place hasn't been open for long and - and at that - not in nice weather. My guess is that by fall, this place will be impossible to get to. So Yelpers... I HIGHLY recommend you have a look now before it becomes just too much effort. Other: If you can't get in, there are a few other options in the hotel to check out. Reception in theory hasn't yet become popular, but it's cool enough were I could see it one day being a place for flow through given the cool walls. read more

Absolutely lovely!!! We were guests at the ME for 6 nights at the beginning of September and ended up at the Radio Bar at least once a night!!! The service is absolutely wonderful...from the door girls/guys, to the bartenders, to the management staff. We were lucky and never really had to wait in a queue for the elevator up, but did see the long line a few times as we came down. However, they seemed to be moving people along pretty quickly. We easily got a seat at the bar every single time and were front row for some great service from the bartenders. Fanni V. has now become our favorite bartender in ALL of London!!! She is super friendly, knowledgable, and has quite a tolerant personality. She made our Radio Bar experiences extra special. The views are amazing. The set up of the outside area makes it fairly easy for you to jump out and walk around for a bit to get a couple of pictures if you would like. The crowd is a nice mix of all walks of life and personalities. The DJ in the evening is great and gets people up and dancing. I would highly recommend a stop in at Radio Bar if you live in or are just visiting London. All of the staff is simply amazing!!! Can't wait to be back in London!!! read more

My friend and I came here one Saturday early evening during the heatwave as we just wanted to lounge somewhere with a large cool glass of vino! This was the perfect place!! The entrance is a little tucked away to the side of the entrance of the ME hotel in Aldwych. They have quite a strict door policy but since it was just the two of us, we didn't have any problems. Stunning views over the city, and they have these comfy outdoor cabanas, on which you can ust sit and chat for hours. Our one bottle of wine soon turned into a second! We arrived just before the Saturday night crowd and so easily secured a spot outside. We got peckish and so tried a few things from the bar menu. The goats cheese and beetroot salad, the beef satay skewers, tempura soft shell crab and bread with babaghanoush and houmous. All beautifully presented, super tasty and delicious; if a little on the small side. Loved that the houmous had a little cayenne kick to it. This place isn't cheap (ca. £90 for 2 bottles of wine, our food and service) and the crowd is a bit suspect (a little rich Eurotrashy for my taste) but definitely worth going to for the views. I think it's quite a good date place if you want to treat your lady ;) My tip if you're going on the fly is to go early and in a small group. If a larger group then I'd advise booking, although for booking a table there is a maximum number of 12 and the minimum spend per person is £100 on bottles or so I was told! read more

After almost getting turned away due to the bar being full, I finally got inside on a Thursday before Christmas. Beautifully-designed, it's a definite hotspot for wannabe celebs, the fashion pack, city gents and people wanting to be seen. However, the bar itself *is* beautiful, and the view is second to none. It's astonishing of an evening to see London from there. Reservations highly recommended as it will probably be busy, though my friend and I did get a table for two without one. This may be my favorite bar in the world. It's listed as one of the must have London experiences and I know those things rarely pan out, but I wouldn't have found this place otherwise! The view is incredible, as are the drinks. I was told you can't go wrong with any of the signature cocktails, I can personally vouch for the remember me as well as the one without a blooming name. The wrap around patio area is a mix of high and low top tables, along with sofas and even cabanas. It's a little bit difficult to find, walk around the STK bar toward the elevators. A hostess asked us if we had reservations, but we had no trouble getting in without them. This place is worth the effort! read more

I came here on a work party and we had reserved a section as there were around 30 of us. When we arrived, we were told that we had no reservation because we had not confirmed the email. This was only because they had got the email address wrong and so we weren't able to confirm it, when they should really have also tried to ring us to double-check rather than cancelling the reservation out right which they could already see would have raked them in some serious £££. Anyway, we all got some drinks and enjoyed the views outside while they managed to clear an area for us. Once we had this area, the night was amazing. We had a booth with sofas and outdoor heaters and all mingled around drinking cocktails. It's here that I'd usually complain about the overpriced drinks - luckily the company was paying for these so I'm not complaining! The views were incredible. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see the views all the way around because there are seating areas around the sidelines so it's hard to see from the side unless your seats are there. The whole rooftop bar is lit beautifully with such a nice atmosphere. Despite the error to start with, the staff sorted it out really quickly for us and gave us a lovely seating area which meant the whole night was such a success. read more

Radio Bar sits at the apex of the chic ME Hotel London and is a rooftop bar with a stunning view. Can't tell you how happy I am to have found it, given that it's under a 10 minute walk from work. And also, how sad I am that it took me this long! The cocktails are actually fabulous. Yes, you are going to shell out like 12 quid, but honestly, that's what non-happy hour London is like anyway. So I found no reason to complain, especially given how unique the menu is and the quality of the alcohol used. Some of the ones I will be back to try: London Horizon - bombay sapphire, green tea cordial, lemon, egg white Noir Nights - ciroc, blackberries, cranberry, creme de peche *Thames River Iced ME - grey goose, bombay sapphire, bacardi, el jimador, peach liqueur, lemon, and ting (Jamaican grapefruit soda) *Vodka, Gin, and Tequila? SOUNDS LIKE A KILLER My 'AM/FM' was a delicious mix of bacardi, chambard, mint, lemon, passion fruit Glass walls and spiky industrial steel decor on a black and white layout makes for a sleek look and feel. The outside is absolutely gorgeous, with large comfortable couches and covered seating along it's pyramid structure. You will need to dress up for this one as it definitely has a club feel and there is a queue before they let you in and up the shiny elevators. My only complaint is that it is packed - even on a Tuesday night at like midnight. Also, it took a good 30 minutes to get the drinks brought to the 5 of us. read more

I try to find a good rooftop in every city that I visit and Radio did not disappoint! The view of London was spectacular. There was both indoor and outdoor seating and the outdoor space had shelter that was drawn out when it began to drizzle. There were both tables and couches outside and they offered blankets if you needed them. The tapas were delicious so if you're hungry as well they will more than satisfy you! I can't give 5 stars because the drinks just didn't do it for me. Watered down and super light. I'd recommend you go with a beer or wine. They can mess that up. Yes this is a fantastic looking rooftop and yea the views are amazing but everything else about this place just doesn't quite match up. The service is a slow as a snail and it feels like the waitresses are too busy enjoying saying no to people to help. We tried to book a table for drinks, we were quite happy to reach a minimum spend however we were told we couldn't book a table if we were not eating. We were told to turn up and tables were given on a first come first served basis. When we arrived, what a surprise we couldn't get a table (it was 4pm). we managed to squeeze on the end of a booth that had a couple of different groups on it and at 5pm were told we would need to move as someone had booked the table for drinks. You can imagine at this point we were so confused about their booking process it was getting annoying. So we phoned around and managed to get a table on the terrace at OXO. It took us another 20 minutes just to pay our bill. I have been here a few times and yes i may return again in the future but its certainly not the best rooftop in town. read more

The first thing that I want to say about 'The Radio Bar' is that is has the most incredible views. The cocktail lounge is extremely classy and has an amazing atmosphere about it. It is a great place to go, if you want to drink fabulous (kinda pricey) cocktails with friends while overlooking London city. The staff and service there was brilliant and I would definitely like to return. The only downside I can think of, is that finding a seat may be a little difficult as the place is clearly very popular. Reserving a table would be a good idea if you have enough people to spend over a certain amount at a table (I think about £80). read more

I went along for a work lunch at the Radio Rooftop in the ME Hotel in the Strand. The restaurant has amazing views looking over London you can see such buildings as the Gherkin and the Shard. The bar is impressive round and bright and they have a great outside area as well to have a drink which has comfy sofas to lounge on with heaters and blankets for the colder days/nights which is very cosy. However as for the restaurant side of things I would not recommend Radio Rooftop as the food was appalling. When we first arrived our table was not even set out so they had to move tables together and dress the table which was odd considering we had a booking. One of the tables also kept on sinking as had a mechanism in where you could make it higher or lower. When it came to the food I ordered the seafood linguine and literally waited for it for approx 30 minutes. The portion was small and the pasta and seafood was luke warm, tasteless and the chillies even had no taste to them no heat nothing and the pasta was sticking together practically. One persons seafood linguini did not have any clam meat just empty shells. However everyone else had ordered a burger and I must admit that did look good big, chunky and juice with a brioche bun but the chips were the long frozen type fries not hand cut chips which was disappointing to see but they tasted nice. For dessert we ordered the apple crumble again a very long wait until it came to the table and when it did it looked more like soup with apple floating around in it with a scattering of crumble. Could not eat it as was soup and the small amount I did slurp up like soup tasted of burnt caramel. The waiter apologised and then came back and told us it was because there was an accident in the kitchen what the accident was I don't know but worrying to think why our crumble looked like the way it did. We sent all crumbles back. Even though the staff was apologetic and nice I would not go back for the food at all as below standards and the food took way too long to come out and when it did was luke warm anyway. However even though I would not go back for there for food I would possibly go back for a drink or two to experience the amazing views on offer. read more
