Definitely a place to check out when you come to Dallas. Loved the atmosphere and the most amazing music on Friday night. The Farro with rainbow chard was amazing, the mac&cheese was tastier, and the goat cheese grits were definitely the best. I'm not a meat eater but the steaks were cooked to perfection. If you asked for a medium rare, you got a medium rare steak. So, order want you want. :) The music was amazing when I was there on Friday. It was this singer who could do loops and a bit of beat boxing. He took requests and definitely enjoyed his gig. Would definitely go back again if I'm in the area. After putting my last review on Yelp, Charles from The Ranch asked me to give it another chance. So my wife and I gave them another chance, and Iam so happy we did. Once again service was amazing, would like to give Charles, Kirsten, and Carlos a special thank you. The food!! From the Lump Crab dip (YUMMMM) to the steaks, dinner was delicious. My wife had the garlic stuffed fillet and potatoe salad, she said the steak was like butter, and even though the potatoe salad wasn't to her taste (sweet) it had great flavor. I had the boneless rib eye and mashed potatoes. They complimented each other very well and the steak was super tender. We will definitely be going back. read more

My first time in Texas, thanks to my company's training accommodations. Figured - when in Texas, I must get a big Texas steak, grits and see a cowboy. I got nice 12oz Angus filet ($65.. thanks, boss), grits (which I realized I'm not a fan of) and.. eventually I met a cowboy.. he was my coworker, he has the accent, no hat, and a pair... of converse on.. we took a ride in his Jeep, blasting hotline going while getting in-n-out.. after drinking... cos.. murica? right? When in Texas.. go big.. or don't go home at all, or something.. anyways.. The Ranch was extremely accommodating, professional and relatively quick with service.. granted it took about 30minutes to get our drink orders and the wait staff definitely saw me as a girly man... after asking "mind if I keep it classy with a Shirley temple? "... guy looked at me and replied with "I don't think we have the correct Grenadine for that" (I took it as a 'Man up' and ordered a Manhattan next chance I got... which was a bit too spiced for my taste and just sat there.. while I smiled and sipped on it as he passed like.. 'what chu lookin' at bro? I got this... ' ). Haha but overall, for a business centralized place, 30minutes or so for food is relatively nice, you don't want your meeting to go by too quickly or drag out too long, and the appetizers are enough of a filler that you've gotta watch out for the main course! Would've like to check out the dessert menu, but we were all very much stuffed after the main course. Would totally recommend.. but I do caution when making plans to ask if they're doing their dinner services or buffet before coming in.. apparently our company said this was the first time The Ranch was on point with everything and they're usually just a mediocre buffet setup. read more

How can you not like The Ranch? It's a great place for a casual dinner or leisurely lunch with friends. For starters, the place can usually get pretty crowded during peak lunch/dinner hours so making reservations is not a bad idea. The service has always been really friendly and the waiters are super helpful. The past few times I've been, our group has ordered the onion rings as an appetizers. They are HUGE! Also, depending on how big of an appetite you have you can usually split an entree. I always split the burger with my boyfriend and it is more than enough food for both of us. I also really like their local beer selection! You really cannot go wrong with anything on their menu! read more

Went to the ranch for Father's Day belated. I had the prime rib it was very very tender could I use the slightest bit of more flavor on the crust but was excellent in my eyes because of the tenderness pretty close to being able to cut it with a fork and the Horsey Sauce was good. All my sides had a really good flavor, mac and cheese what's good had kind of a home cooked spin to it. Went in on a Thursday night and it was so packed. I didn't expect much since it was so busy. But Ro was our server, so positive, friendly and patient. My elderly uncle (kiddingly) said he'd rather "hear" the menu than struggle to read it. Ro didn't miss a beat, made suggestions and recommended healthy substitutions that weren't on the menu, everything was so delicious! I hadn't seen my family in years and was worried we'd feel rushed since it was so busy. Not at all! We had such a wonderful experience and my family can't wait to go back. Great job Ro! read more

Last time my family met at the ranch it was superb ; this last Saturday we took our granddaughter out for her birthday it seemed like they were off their game a bit. Our waiter was a bit disorganized and not real attentive , my son in law had to send his steak back,it was over cooked, he ordered it rare. my "shrimp Louie" was inedible, tasted very fishy, the waiter did not offer to take it off the bill. still love this place so I hope it was just a 1 time off night. Myself and 9 colleagues (who were in from out of town) ate at the Ranch last night (02/19). We had a reservation and were seated right away. Waiter was pretty prompt getting our drinks and taking our orders....that's when it went down hill. As soon as we received our food, he was non existent. Didn't come by to check and see if we were ok with the food. My colleague ordered a medium well steak and it came soaked in blood, clearly rare. He had to wait about 10 mins and try catch his attention to let him know. He swapped it out pretty quick but it was disappointing that he was not attentive enough to come by the table after we received the food and didn't ensure to replenish the water. I appreciate the restaurant was busy but that should not be an excuse. I have eaten here a few times and unfortunately the service is not consistent and I probably will not eat here again. read more

We brought my parents here for dinner during their anniversary trip and had a fantastic time. The atmosphere was nice without being pretentious, which is something I always appreciate. Our server was fantastic, too. He was there when we needed something but he didn't hover, and he was really knowledgable about both the food and drink menus. That dinner was one of the best meals I had all year; my whole family traded around bites of the various entrees and sides. I'm not a huge steak lover, but their small filet was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. The price was a little steep, especially if you round out a meal with cocktails and apps, so if we were local we'd probably treat it as more of a special occasion place. However, it has a price tag. The ranch is very popular for after work gatherings and therefore very packed between 5-8p. I give them four stars. I think I found this place while googling restaurants to find some where new to eat. I went here twice in a span of like a few weeks. The flat bread pizzas are awesome. I have had both the Margherita (YES!) and the sausage and goat cheese. The Goatcheese one,Meh, Not so much. I am a sucker for some chicken and waffles. Every time I fuid them on the menu, I have to try 'em out. This ish was off the Chain! That means it was to die for. The worst thing about it, wa that it was not enough of it. They only have it as an appetizer, and a small one at that. The chicken is TENDER and JUICY, the waffle is thin enough to suck up all the flavor of the chicken, and it it sits on a bed of whipped herbed sweet potatoes. Mmmm, Mmmmmm, Mmmmm. They should have this as a full entree. Best chicken and waffles I have had, and I am a Roscoe's fan. I like the atmosphere and the vast menu selection. In the beginning, things got to an awful start. The hostess told me as a party of one that both bars were open- actually both bars seemed almost at capacity. I chose the outside bar where there was live music. I was then ignored for 15-20 minutes. I reported this to the hostess and asked for a table. Things got better after that. Nolan took great care of me, as well as Manager Justin (who apologized for the outside bar). Nolan suggested the beef ribs (excellent), which I ordered. To me they looked like that last scene from the Flintstones cartoon where Fred orders the Bronto Ribs and the car flips over. In retrospect, the table was the better choice, as Nolan was very knowledgeable on all the items on the menu. Next time I will try the runner up (smoked prime rib). The TX Becker Chardonnay was excellent, as well as the Messina Hof...I am from the San Francisco Bay area. read more

Also they don't have bread but you can pay for a cornbread muffin.. No idea, it was a weird experience. We were visiting Dallas. Not familiar with the area and restaurants. But we wanted meat and we wanted something good. Found this place on Yelp and it was pretty close by. To begin, the place is nice. We really liked the atmosphere. It feels like a nice, upper scale place. The food was great. The servings were not big, on the smaller side. But definitely yummy. While we only had a couple dishes, I can imagine that most anything you order here will taste very good for what it is. The biggest problem we had was simply slow service and lack of attention from the waitress. It wasn't horrible, but for the money you pay and the ambiance, I would have expected better. I will say that I'm not 100% sure we would return. I would rather try other places to see if there's something better or at least something that gives more value. read more

EXTREMELY LOUD and OVER-PRICED!!! This is the loudest, over-priced tourist trap around! It's surrounded by several corporate headquarters, so everybody wants to take their teams to dinner there! Unfortunately, they have no sound baffling on the wooden ceilings, so the noise is amplified! Our group could only talk to the person sitting right next to them, which made for a very unpleasant dining experience. I asked our waiter why they didn't do something to soften the noise level, to which he replied, "I'm not in charge." SERIOUSLY?!! He could've brought the manager over, or at least offered to relay my complaint to the management team. The food was good, but $45 for a ribeye steak is outrageous... especially in Texas where we raise the beef they're serving!!! It was my good girlfriend's birthday, last night, and she wanted to try something different. This was my second time visiting; the first was during lunch. It was very busy, but we were seated immediately due to reservations. Our initial server, there was gentlemen who attended to us as well, was very personable. She knew a lot about the menu and gave great suggestions. My friend ordered the steak salad. She said it was flavorful and filling, which isn't always the case for salads. I opted for the fried chicken. I thoroughly enjoyed that it was fried, but had a nice smoky grilled taste. Had the skin been fried all the way thought; it would have elevated the meal. As a southern girl, I take my macaroni very seriously. The macaroni had a perfect cheese to noodle balance, and was seasoned expertly. The breadcrumbs were not a distraction, but a perfect garnish to the macaroni. I substituted the Brussel sprouts and squash for the coleslaw. They were tender and without overusing, very flavorful. I ordered a Moscow mule. It was ok, but I tasted more ginger beer than anything. Considering it was not a premium vodka; I would have thought that the price point would lend for a little more on the portion. Since it was her birthday, she was able to choose from any one of the desserts. She selected the pecan pie, topped with ice cream. The portion was enough to share and worthy of Paula Dean's compliments. Overall, it was good dining; I think the prices were a tad escalated, but not enough to complain. read more

I feel like the hype might be centered around the size of the portions and not the flavor of the food itself. The service was subpar. I went with my significant other to celebrate our anniversary and we received lack luster service. Our waitress forgot about us. Lastly, for special occasions, they put a type of lantern on your table to signify the special occasion. Our lantern wasn't turned till when we had the check in our hand and ready to leave. Thank you YELP contributors! We were in the DFW area for work - coming together from Austin, Oklahoma City and Sacramento, and I knew I had to find something amazing and delicious that was close to our office and hotels. The Ranch at Las Colinas did not disappoint. Our server, Aaron, took great care of us and went out of his way to make sure our needs were met. We all ordered something different: the burger, smoked fried chicken, ribs, fried catfish, and the 6oz filet. Everyone LOVED their order! We started with drinks - Tx Mule which was supposed to be spicy (but wasn't), Cadillac margarita (wished I'd ordered this!!), a couple of TX draft beers and sodas. All the drinks were great! The two items that stole the show were the Meat & Cheese tray and the pecan pie for dessert. I'm taking the pie back home to my family in OKC because it is truly the BEST pecan pie I have ever had! My coworkers all thanked me for choosing such a great place for dinner! I'm so happy The Ranch lived up to its reputation and we will be back the next time we all meet up again. read more
