This place is the worst place ever!!! I moved in in December and was out by October. I had 3 floods in my apartment and we did not have maintenance at the time so no one ever came to inspect or clean up all the water. They changed property owners at least 5 times in the 8 months I lived there. i emailed every day to complain that my apartment had a mold smell from the 3 floods I had. I have pictures and documentation with no resolution. I lived on the first floor facing the gym and pool. We had a homeless person living in our gym for 1 month and the property managers did nothing about it . I have several police activity in my complex where criminals actually jump out the 3rd floor windows. This complex had multiple drug dealers living there. I had 2 police notices taped to my door to be careful for the vilocence that was in my area. Every time I would complain to the office staff they had new people there. No employees have ever stayed for a long period of time. I left my apartment ver clean and the reason I left is because no one has ever address my issues with all the flooding, violence and mold. read more

Lived here 2 & 1/2 yrs. Have you ever lived somewhere where the staff are very protective of the place and believe it is so great that they guard it's prestigious condition with outright snobbery? I usually don't - that's why I'm on yelp instead of having my personal assistant do this for me. I'm usually the guy being shooed from the premises or served that lovely restraining order. But then I moved to the Reserve, where their staff takes this role step further to be snobby to everyone. everyone... As to why, I'm not exactly sure. Is the office staff that good? Unless I've mistaken the real estate industry, the sharpest tools in the box sell homes because there is much more cash involved or at least work in a development's sales center. The management (office staff) always acted like I was bothering them, even when it was to pick up a package, and I was only interrupting their gossip sessions. Had a manager totally freak out and yell at me because we disagreed over their responsibility for fixing a malfunctioning smoke alarm that went off every 30 seconds all night - later apologized & hooked us up with a gift card, but still... Are the apartments worthy of the snobbery? These are your typical "luxury" apartments which all must be designed by the same dude. I'll give them credit. We were on the top floor w/ the vaulted ceiling and it was pretty big for a 2 bedroom - 1100 sq ft, and the price was still reasonable.Off-setting this, is paper-thin paint on the walls, bottom-of-the-barrel appliances, and pieces of anything falling off as months progress in the lease. The amenities? I'll give it to them, these are pretty good. The pool is very nice when they clean it and has a pretty backdrop with the pond. Looks like they expanded or are expanding the development. Not sure if they are sharing the same amenities. Weightroom is small but is rarely used - seriously. In Mt. P, I'd be waiting in a line but here I workout, come back a day or two later and many times it's still on my settings. Awesome! If you can get the maintenance crew out of there to go maintain something, you might be able to watch some TV. And they should be maintaining because the place isn't built that well. Looks nice at first but falls apart pretty quickly. It's an apartment though, so guess one can't expect too much but I swear they used 1/2 a coat of paint on those walls. Breathe on them and they scratch down to the drywall. They used the same flat paint in the kitchen so it absorbs anything near it and if you use anything to try getting food off, you'll wipe the paint right off the wall (including water). Pricing - Looks to be slightly higher than when we moved. Prices actually look higher than a comparable home now given the depression of home prices. If there is any way you can scratch together the cash & get a mortgage, look into that route. website - has been deactivated. Curious decision. ownership - property was bought by an investment corporation in the midwest from local ownership a couple years ago right as I was moving. Not sure if that made it better or worse. Location in terms of pleasant surroundings is great - like if you had kids but didn't have the cash or were concerned you would be moving soon. The neighborhood is nice and green with plenty of sidewalks. The golf course which winds through the neighborhood is very playable. Traffic - was awful when I moved there. I mean really awful. We called it a lobster trap. You get in but you're not getting back out. The back road out of there that was just built may have alleviated some of the traffic on Dorchester but the problem is in the few access roads to the interstate. If you work in Summerville though, it can be a great spot during the commute. Something about that intersection down by walmart and ladson though - it's backed up any time of day... and I mean ANY. And they're building more stores there as we speak (2 were just opened as this review was written, 2 more as you read this & so forth) Schools are right there & Dorchester II are supposed to be some of the better ones. read more

I've lived here for about 4 months. We got a good deal through the Navy's housing program, a REALLY good deal, so we settled here. We got an apartment in the newer apartments, apparently some of them were renovated (or built, not sure) in 2007. Our apartment is REALLY nice, I'm not sure about the older ones. We shopped around all over Summerville and these were the nicest, safest, non-smoke smelling ones we found. I really don't mind them as much as it may seem in the future comments. It's better than living in the ghetto that's for sure. I live on the 3rd floor, I really enjoy the quiet (from above) and the vaulted ceilings. They really took time decorating the apartment. The tile is real tile - not laminate, they have nice brushed metal fixtures (yeah they may be cheap but they look good!), and it's nice to have the closed in patio to fight off bugs. The pool area and work out room is nice. I use the work out room regularly and I have no issues with it, they even provide clean towels for you. It is kind of awkward when you come to work out and there are residents in there watching tv... haha Here are the issues I've noticed so far with the apartment. We plan on living here for the next 3 years (unless we find something totally unreasonable...) so I'll update over time. 1) I agree with Matthew. The office staff is SNOBBY! I don't care if they see this and know who I am, honestly. I got laughed at by one of the girls because of a way I pronounced a word. She apologized, but still - how rude! I shouldn't have to stand there for a good 30 seconds for someone to realize that I walked in the office if there is a full staff there either. I don't really have issues with them besides that and the fact they seem like they're "high and mighty". The only issue I have besides that is the fact they recently had a Christmas party and apparently it was when the mail came. The mailman put notes in my box saying I had packages to pick up. As per routine, I went to pick them up. After the agent looked for my package she goes "Oh, was that today?" I told her yes, really confused. She explained to me they had a freaking Christmas party and closed the office so my packages never got delivered! "The mailman knew we were going to be closed" is what she told me. WHAT ON EARTH! I need to pick up 3 packages for Christmas that I need to send out and I can't get them because they were busy partying? Disgusting. (I honestly hope they read this because that's stupid that a PARTY was more important than their residents.) 2) The fact that I was pretty much stalked from the minute I got my dog. I adopted a dog and for about a week I didn't tell them because I wanted to see how the dog did in the apartment. Yes, I get that it violated the lease with my (in their words) "illegal animal", but I WASN'T planning NOT to pay it! Ugh. I got a phone call, 2 notes on my door (1 AFTER i paid still warning me I'd get kicked out if I didn't pay!). I don't know who the hell watched me as I was outside or if there is a resident with loose lips, but it was very obnoxious. Especially after I paid you my $200, leave me alone! 3) This one amused me so much. Everyone in our building got notes on our door saying people aren't picking up their dog's poop. And they're going to evict or fine people for not picking it up. I'm sure that's where you'd cue the stalking again. 4) Cheap appliances. I mean every apartment has cheap appliances, but for a more upscale apartment complex, I'd expect more. 5) I wish the trash compactor was closer to the middle, or another one was placed on the other half of the complex. It really sucks having to pack up your stinking trash in your car and driving all the way to the compactor next to the front office to throw it out. 6) Paper thin walls. You really CAN take the paint off with a rag and some water. Not to mention it's nice hearing my neighbor take a piss and flush the toilet while I'm taking a relaxing bath! 5) One of our light sockets in our bathroom stopped working after a month, changed the light bulb about 10 times. 6)I DO agree the traffic is AWFUL! Dorchester is a nightmare, it backs up almost all hours of the day. If you don't get in the correct lane early enough to get onto Old Trolley/Ladson - forget it! You might as well turn around in a parking lot because no one will let you in. Patriot and Palmetto Parkway are okay, but they don't really go anywhere useful and are such long roads! The only thing I like about Patriot is that it lets off to Ashley Phosphate. read more

I absolutely love it here. I'm going into my third year and I have been so happy with my decision. The grounds are clean and the neighborhood is quiet. I definitely feel safe here. If I have an issue, management always handles it quickly. It is a great place for a little family or single living. When I was looking for a place to live, this complex definitely felt like home. The price for the apartment is definitely reasonable in comparison to other places. You get what you pay for!! read more

Apparently Matthew L. hasn't lived in The Reserve recently. I have lived here for two years and I love it. All of the people in the office and maintenance are fairly new and very nice. The ones that seemed fake are now gone. Snobs? Hardly. This is in a very good area, the whole reason I moved out here was for my kids to go to Dorchester County schools. As far as having to deal with any traffic, its never an issue. There are three ways into Wescott now. I would recommend it to any one that was looking for a quite apartment complex. It obviously can't be too bad considering how long you lived here. Just a thought! read more

I agree matt. They are very protective of this place!!!! VERYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. I dont think they like me to be honest but havent had a problem in a few weeks :-) Maybe thats how they keep the whole neighborhood as spick and span as it is. Who knows. Just taking it day by day until My husbands gets back from deployment. I feel like everyone is in everyones business around here, but maybe thats just an apartment fo r you??? I havent been in an apartment for so long. Just glad I am on the bottom floor since I have two boys and would be getting even more complaints since my boisterous four year old can get rambunctious at times. Lived here for 5 years in the early 2000's and recently decided to move back. Very unprofessional staff. I chose my move in date and was approved within the day to move in even though my move in date was a month out. When I was called by management to be notified I was approved I was told that I could not move in the day I chose on their own website, but had to move in a week earlier. This would cause me to be in 2 leases at the same time for a week. I was told there was nothing they could do an told my move in date was Feb 31st, which was a little weird to me as there are only 28 days in Feb and 29 on a leap year. I went with it and was later told it would be March 2nd. I was told I could view the apartment two weeks into Feb. and sign my lease at that time. When I called to see if I could stop by, two weeks into the month I was told it wouldn't be able to view until the 25th but they would call me if it was available to view sooner. I asked if they could at least send the information about who to get utilities with, at this point I was notified that there was an additional $150.00 admin fee, that I was not previously told about when I stopped in to pay my hold fee, no worries though. So here I sit on March 6th and still no call to come view the apartment or sign the lease at a residence I was supposed to occupy on March 2nd, until now. I was told by the manager (I guess) that her two leasing agents have tried to call me multiple times with no response until now (of course they would say that). I told her this was the first call I have received and she argued with me and basically said I was lying and her people were right. I'm glad I found out how these people operate now before I moved in. I'm paying you $900 a month for rent and I can't even get a call to say "you can view the apartment today and sign your lease" and then get called a liar. I sent an email asking when I could come pickup my hold fee I paid ($100) and was told that since I didn't change my mind in 72hrs I don't get that back. So let's get this right, your employees don't do as they are supposed to and I'm penalized, sounds about right. Like I said I'm glad I found out how these people run this complex now before I was stuck there a year. I wish I would have gotten the ladies name who basically called me a liar, how very rude and unprofessional. read more

I lived here for 2 about years, over the course of that time i realized how overrated this place was. The rent increase every year $100 bucks, The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything that happens in the apartment next and on top of you, not to mention the staff... The second day i moved in i had a note on the door about noise..(really, im moving so you would hear me bringing furniture in). The maintenance man divulge private information about other residents who didnt pay their rent and were getting evicted. You cant even change a tire in the parking lot without getting a letter on the door the next day. There have been a ring of car break ins and the office wont even get cameras, courtesy officers or even gates to enter the premises and the amount of money we pay in rent is well over a mortgage payment. The office staff is HORRIBLE! nobody greets people when you walk in unless they notice a "possible new resident".
