Had a fantastic collection of retro games, consoles, and games/anime memorabilia. The big draw for me however was the selection of Japanese arcade games, including WACCA my personal favourite. These were all in excellent condition and with the latest updates. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Bought a "refurbished" DS here for my kid's Christmas present here Dec. 2025 (and a bunch of other vintage consoles and games over the years). Seemed to work fine to me, but my kid found a problem with the contrast and/or screen when he tried to play Christmas morning. We took it back to the location on Campbell Ave where I bought it. Showed the manager/owner and provided receipts. He said they would fix the DS because it was sold "refurbished." He said it would be ready in a few weeks, after the new year, and took my contact into. Never heard back. Called the store after the first month came and went. No answer. Months go by and my kid keeps asking about it. I keep calling the location but then I read on their instagram that the shop is permanently closed. But they they're still doing business online. So I reach out to their instagram and email the address on their Shopify, where in fact they are now selling a metallic blue DS, just like the one I bought in December! Still no reply. Hope to hear back now that I'm posting about this problem. read more

The sweetest part about this shop is how there are many arcade machines for kids (of all ages) to play with. They've got a deal where you pay by the hour or buy an all day pass. Booked a private event here for my partner's surprise birthday. Rudy is so cool and super friendly! He was also so accommodating! We booked an event from 12-3 and brought our own food and drinks. They have a long table that we used to put the drinks and food on. I felt so bad having to ask Rudy so many questions but he was so nice and didn't seem bothered at all. Our guests had so much fun hanging out and playing games with each other when they usually play games together online. It's so great having a place like this for people to just hang out and play games together. THE Retro fix II turbo is THE best party/event space in the Bay Area. First off parking is easy peasy lots of parking lots for the late attendees but I got there early to get front side street parking easy to unload balloons and food/bevs. Rudy is by far the most chill/elite party host there is.. always there to help with anything and everything. bathrooms are clean and easy to access same floor. ADA access for my uncle in a wheelchair. This is the second year we had my son's birthday party here. The appreciation to all the staff for all their patience and guidance. my son got presents there on the spot and had his friends bring extra money if they wanted to buy anything and everything the sold anime books, characters, clothes, dvds, games and more. Just hopped on here to say that Trey's review is a little misleading. Yes, this place doesn't do repairs, BUT they are a drop-off location for 2 Player Arcade Shop in Monterey, so you can come here to get your old consoles fixed. Anyway, this place is cool. It's hard to find a retro gaming place that not only offers gaming gear at fair prices but is also a place to play with friends. Wish there were more places like this around SJ. The only thing I'd like to see more of is them offering more ways to engage with the community, like hosting local tournaments and stuff. Also, their website could use some work, it's horribly organized and difficult for you to find anything specific, which can be frustrating when they run online promotions. What a cool video game, anime, and toy store. Not only was this store fun, but it was also interactive - customers could play classic video games for free in the store. There were also many nostalgic items from the days when Nintendo and Super Nintendo were the highlights of my days when I was a kid. But at the same time, this store also offered new games and anime. They was a lot of cool figurines on display to admire. I was hoping to see more Demon Slayer items but only managed to find a few, but that was fine. I've been to this retro game store since around the time the pandemic started, and for the most part, I've been given pretty good customer service by Rudy, the owner, and most of his employees over the years. But yesterday on a Friday afternoon? Not really. When I called about how much a copy of Pokemon HeartGold would go for, the employee who answered had a pretty passive aggressive attitude towards me. He kept trying to talk down to me about the different pricing that the game would fall under whether it was under a CIB or loose, or barcode or "Not For Resale" version, or how the condition would be. When I did research on Pokemon HeartGold, the game doesn't have a barcode on the back of the case, but it does have the "Not For Resale" lettering where the barcode would be. It also does have the barcode on the back of the box the case came in. So it has both, not one or the other. People usually ask for the general price of a game with the case and game with the barcode on the back (usually in decent condition), and with that, you can just give me the ballpark of a game's price depending on whether it has a manual or not. Most games are not going to have a "Not For Resale" sign on the back. I even called two other places like "Gameshop Downstairs" and "The Experience Share", and the employees there simply let me know whether they had it or not and also told me the ballpark price after I simply told them the name of the game and the console it was on--all without any rudeness or passive aggression. I honestly just wanted the game with the case, game, manual and inserts, and no Pokewalker and no box it came in. I didn't want to be treated like i wasn't wanted. The employee became passive aggressive and acted like I was wasting his time by telling me, "If I didn't have a customer in front of me with two trades, I could tell you the pricing for the game in whatever condition or version it was on, but I can't right now". I wasn't asking for that; I was just asking for the ballpark price. Please, Rudy, if you're reading this, train your employees to not be so rude to new or returning customers. I just don't want to come back if i have to deal with this rude employee in person. read more

This place is cool!!! Came in with the kids cashed in 20bucks for quarters and let the kids play away. We were there for the video games then ventured upstairs to see the retro toys, computer stations, tables to play cars games. I enjoyed it. I thought some of the games was a bit pricey to play!!! Second visit to this awesome hidden gem in downtown Campbell! First time I got myself a used 3ds and this time, I dropped off some old consoles I had lying around just collecting dust. They do an inspection followed by a play test of everything before finalizing the deal (walked out with $200). Sure I could have done this online through some random used market but I figured why not support local businesses. While you wait, you can browse their amazing collection of used games, consoles, anime figures and goods! The guy also let me chill in their game lounge while he worked and played some PS5. I just had my 16th birthday here, and it was a hit. My mom rented out the Japanese arcade and all of my friends and I had a ton of fun playing all of the games that they had here. The owner, Rudy, is an amazing person and I feel very comfortable trusting him with my party. Also, I need to point out their store. They have an amazing selection of anime figures, Japanese manga, Japanese magazines, and posters. They also have great prices on everything there, and i was not disappointed at all with my purchases. The Retro Fix is our favorite game store, and a local business which we always love shopping with! There is such a great vibe and everyone is so friendly and happy to be there. We booked a birthday party in the gaming lounge here for a group of tweens and the team members were all so helpful and supportive with everything. I even forgot a few things for the party and they were able to help me out! They made the experience super smooth for me, and the kids all had a lot of fun with the impressive game selection available in the lounge. Our guests also received a discount on merch, which was especially awesome because I believe every one of them left with a purchase! Alright, I normally don't do reviews for stores... but I'd like to counter a few points made by another reviewer (J G.) because this is an excellent local video game store in Downtown Campbell. It's a small space above LvL Up and shared with AFK... but it delivers. "They are overpriced and the staff was too busy checking their phones to do anything." Overpriced? Honestly their prices are quite comparable if not better than what you find online via sold eBay listings or Mercari, sometimes even at par with PriceCharting. They are A LOT better priced than local video game stores I've checked out along the West Coast, especially compared to one famous store in Seattle (they're super overpiced). Some physical copies are rare and obviously will be priced much higher, and prices fluctate with the market. I've gotten great deals on games here without having to fight bidding bots. Regarding the phone use... they do have quite the social media presence, which is smart, given how niche this type of business is. They are very responsive on social media if you message them asking if something is available. However the staff have always been friendly whenever I have asked for help or question about a product. "Then again it must really suck to know that almost the entirety of their retro game library can be downloaded and run on a $50 Raspberry Pi." While true, there is a market for people who want to buy physical retro games and this place caters to that part of the video game community. They have an excellent selection and do a great job of ensuring what goes on the floor is clean, protected, and tested. It's also pretty well laid out for browsing, so you're not digging through bins. The rarer physical copies are kept in the glass display case making it easier to check if you're looking for rarer titles. Other shops in the area feel dingy and dusty... meanwhile this place is bright, welcoming, and CLEAN. Seriously, they keep most of their games protected and I don't feel the need to wash my hands after going through what they have. "Their social media is absolutely cringe worthy. Save your cash, and don't trade in your games here. Physical media is dying in gaming and these vultures deserve to have no supply so they can rip off the next person. Keep your games and systems." It's a matter of opinion, but with the ever changing inventory their social media helps people get an idea of what's in the store and can give people a reason to drop in and look around. If you want to talk about vultures, we can chat about Gamestop, but the guys who run The Retro Fix are nothing like that. Heck I've seen them make house calls to help folks who've decided to let go their entire video game collections for unforeseen reasons (life, children, marriage, space, etc.). Not everyone has the time, effort, and patience to sell their large collections... and that's where The Retro Fix comes in. I won't even bother commenting on the repair part of that review because the bottom line is this - not everyone is confident in their ability to do repairs, especially jobs that require soldering. Nor do they have the time. Like why bother eating out when you could just cook it yourself? Why do oil change services even exist when I could just do it myself? Same general idea. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're an open minded video game fan and not some gatekeeping PC gaming elitist. They carry a wide variety of games from SNES, NES, Sega Saturn/CD, N64, Gamecube etc. They also sell a lot consoles as well that have been cleaned and tested. Even if you're a casual gamer or not a gamer at all, it's still pretty interesting to check the space out if you're in Downtown Campbell. They not only sell video games but a lot of imported plushies and figures from Japan. Plus they gave a Japanese capsule machine (Gashapon) that has more interesting prizes than the ones you see at GameStop or malls. read more

We hosted our October 2023 wedding rehearsal dinner at Retro Fix II Turbo, and we are so glad we did! We wanted something more fun than a traditional seated dinner at a restaurant, and Retro Fix II delivered! We worked with Eric to order food from Flights, and a vegan pizza from Blue Line Pizza, and Retro Fix II had a menu of canned/bottled drinks available in house. Eric handled all the logistics with Flights and Blue Line (ordering, delivery, set out), and we just did one simple payment to Retro Fix II at the end of the night. Retro Fix II set up a great serving station with heat lamps and plenty of plates/utensils/etc. They even brought over and served the food in normal service waves (Salads, appetizers, entrees). Our guests loved all the food, and the drink selection was a great combination of local and imported options. As far as the actual venue, it was super fun and our guests had a fantastic time. We booked basically the whole upstairs, and they had a variety of consoles set up when we got there, including Nintendo Switches with the brand new Super Mario Wonder game and PS5s with the brand new Spider Man 2, and a variety of retro consoles with everything from Pac Man to Mario Kart 64, and they let us set up a TV to play Rock Band as well. The staff was super helpful making sure everything was working and charged and that any games we were interested in were set up. Our guests had a great time jumping around to different games and in different small and large groups and all the couches and large tables made it very comfortable. When we first booked, the arcade/bar downstairs (LvL Up) was also operating and we were planning to spend some time down there as well, but it closed just a little bit before our event. LvL Up was a very cool space and I definitely hope it reopens again in some form, but for the purposes of a group event like ours, Retro Fix II Turbo was perfect and we didn't miss having the arcade. There was plenty of space and things to do upstairs and we are thrilled we still held our event at Retro Fix II. Our particular group was 18 people, mostly adults ages 25-35, but with some 60+ year old relatives, and everyone had a great time. The space can easily fit a lot more than the 18 people we had, that's just the size our party was. We would definitely recommend Retro Fix II for any group event with people who are even remotely interested in gaming! read more

The Retro Fix is not only a shop, but they just opened the "play area" which serves food as well. This area has multiple consoles like Gamecube, PS, etc. that are all free to use and play. The staff here is so amazing and kind, and made sure we were able to play all of the games we wanted to. We ordered some wings, mac and cheese, and drinks and they were all surprisingly really good!! Retro Fix is separate from LVL up downstairs, but the food and drink do come from LVL up. As for the shop itself, it was really fun going down memory lane and seeing a bunch of games that I forgot I played back in the day. This business clearly does not belong on Yelp. Because apparently when someone posts a review about not being able to have their items fixed at a store that not only used to fix consoles and such, but also includes the term "Fix" in their name, the owner gets upset and calls for his friends to attack that person. Funny how in the last few days there have been 7 reviews mentioning that one 1 star review, when before that there hadn't been a review in three months... If you cannot handle a review that isn't a glowing five stars, then maybe you shouldn't even be in business. Most business owners take it as a chance to connect with customers and their feedback. This one throws a tantrum when he could have just given a professional response to the review instead of targeting and attacking a bad review. But I can say that I did not have a five star experience at this location. Each and every time I have been in the store, the experience has been poor, but I always loved LvL Up, and I love supporting local businesses, especially ones that cater towards video games and collectibles. I had been to the locations a few times, and the people working there were never friendly, or would even ignore me while I was being wrung up. Whatever, after seeing other reviews, it's clear that customer service is not this locations forte. I brought in my console that I no longer wanted, because I had gotten the next generation, and was not a fan of the previous one, and the whole time the owner seemed displeased. He didn't like that I was asking about trading the console in, because he said there wasn't much of a market for it, and then because I had not brought in physical copies of games too (I used digital downloads), and even seemed annoyed that I didn't like that generation of console and told me that was a weird choice. If you don't want the console, that's fine, no need to be rude, but I had been informed that gaming items could be traded in for credit, unless that's also not correct information about the store, in which case I'm sure I'll see multiple five star angry and targeted reviews to correct me, and to balance out the stores overall review status on here. I thought I would use my credit to shop there, but really, I just am glad to get rid of the console and not have anything to do with the place again. read more

We go to the Retro Fix every time I take my kid to the barcade downstairs (which allows kids until 8 PM). It's sort of a package-deal trip for us. The store is spacious and well done. You can rent time on an old video game console or modern pc. They do parties as well. I like all of that. They also sell retro video games with a small but nice selection. They are very expensive, though. So unfortunately, we never end up actually buying there. I want to be supportive of a store like this. But not at twice the price other retro game stores charge for the same. But hey! I'll keep trying... read more

I usually visit this store every other week just to support local business and relive childhood memories. I came in here last week and the white guy at the register was awful. An extremely rude individual. I've never dealt with him before, I have seen him in the back while others were at the register. I'm shocked he is allowed on the sales floor. He was upset with these kids (pre teen age looking), they had to wait for another group of friends to come in to use the gaming lounge. He told them that they should have come in together in a very annoyed tone. I asked him if I could see something in the cabinets and he was annoyed that I told him I wasn't interested in the game after he had to open the cabinet. I saw another game in the cabinet I was interested in and asked if it was just the collectors items or does it have the game too. He said passive aggressively "If it had the game it wouldn't be at that price" and just turned back to wiping things around the register. My girlfriend and her friend walked in and both said he just stared at them without a smile or hi and went back to cleaning something. They felt very rude vibes from him and said they did not want to be in the store after that. I was in this store for a solid 20 minutes. Not once was he helpful or pleasant. I've met the owner Rudy on multiple occasions and he has always been great to talk to. Good luck Rudy but I'm done supporting this store if this is the way people are treated. read more

Came here yesterday based on a recommendation from one of my co-workers. First impression: Their selection of games is quite board. Of course they have a pretty large selection of the standard fare stuff like: NES and SNES and they also have a lot of obscure items. Great store for anyone who's trying to break into a new system library of games. They have lots of boxed systems; Sega Genesis, Game Cube, Saturn, Nintendo Powers lots of cool things to look at. They also have the newer stuff like; PS5, Xbox Series S, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Ones. The prices aren't bad, but they're what you'd expect, maybe a little lower than other places i've been to. The common stuff is cheaper for sure, so if you need to bulk up on shelf candy you can do it here in a hurry real quick. The store is pretty big and wide open, very clean and modern. I was overwhelmed by their selection and ended up leaving with two new games for my Nintendo switch. I would have bought more stuff but I will save it for my next trip..Wish I lived in the area I would be a regular customer. read more
