The food is always fresh and very delicious! But there's something that I see every time I come to visit. The staff well majority is wearing somewhat of a uniform and well groomed. But there's always a young lady that is always under dressed and looks like she just woke up and just went to work without any consideration that she's going to be working with the public. Gym clothes are for gym. You could be comfortable and work. I don't think she pays attention to see how everyone else is dressed. Or maybe management have no regulations but should. if you really don't feel like driving down to alhambra for pho when it's pouring rain.. lets face it, asian drivers plus rain does not make me super excited.... pho is decent.. the broth is not the most flavorful, the meat definitely has much lacking, egg rolls could be better... but for the convenience, of driving and parking, a possible go in the pasadena area... staff is very nice and friendly, plus you can play lotto... parking is in the lot in the back (and if it's raining, you can go through the back door to save some wet steps bottom line... decent food... good service... easy location to get to... would be interested in trying their morning food... read more

The food is cheap but they taste pretty good! They have sourdough, rye and white bread for your sandwiches. I ordered the cornbeef hash with eggs and asked for sourdough bread on the side. I made myself a cornbeef hash sammich! yum.... They have pretty good iced tea (unsweetened). Their strawberry lemonade tastes like store bought (perhaps Minute Maid brand) but it's still ok. You can ask for them to put frozen strawberries (which what they only have, no fresh strawberries), but still ok. For a group of 4, you can have a filling brunch/lunch for only about $42!!! Not bad! This is our go-to-place after hiking in the foothills. There's also Fox's Restaurant up the street, we have yet to try them. In the meantime, this place is awesome! Have lived in this neighborhood for almost 2 decades but never made it to this place. Just got back from late breakfast and it was GREAT! While we had to wait quite a while (to be expected late Saturday morning), they had to go to the store to buy chocolate chips for our order... most places would just say "sorry, we're out of those", which they initially did but then surprised us with the original order. Had a chili omelette - simply delicious - and the banana bread was wonderful as well. Their biscuits are yummy, the fruit truly fresh. Never a disappointment. This place is good, very humble feeling and the food is amazing. Me and my wife find ourselves here almost every weekend. Haven't ordered a bad thing off the menu yet. Slow service and bad food. Went when there was only one table open and one seat at the bar. Only ones in line we my wife and I and then one lady eating on her own. They seated her in the table instead of the single bar seat so we had to wait. That just doesn't make any sense. I only gave two star because they gave us free coffee for waiting. We were visiting from San Diego and found this place online - this is a nice place for traditional American breakfast. The prices are reasonable and the food is very good. We came at 12:30 and they close at 1 PM, but the owned gave us as much time as we wanted to finish our food. The place itself is a bit old, but the food is very good! Hey. In an attempt to be more local with my locale, I came here to The Reyn. Once again, Yelpers, you did me proud. I would have never gone in here under the influence of my own self and my self's intuition because I just don't get this place, seeing it from the outside (and I've seen it from the outside many a time). What does "The Reyn" mean? And why the definite article? And it says "Coffee Shop" writ large with a small picture of pho when you're squinting from your moving vehicle. But craving some good Vietnamese and reading some somewhat enticing reviews, I went in. The inside was great. I felt like I was in Jersey again. It's a positive diner in here, folks. Turquoise booths, a single's bar, the works! I loved it right away. I asked the kind waitress if the shrimp pho and vegetarian pho was made with beef soup. Non-meat-eating folks, it's always a good idea to do this because lo and behold, yes, they use beef soup. I have yet to understand this phenomenon but oh well. For all future pho cookers out there--vegetarians do NOT want to eat/drink beef soup. So I ordered the vermicelli with shrimp because I do like a little shrimp and that was delish. A little too much iceberg lettuce (I had to remove a few large chunks by hand) but overall fresh and well seasoned. Somebody was right--they do have a good chef in there. I'm eager to take some of my pho-enthusiast friends here for a bite sometime, my treat, just so they could tell me how it compares to Pho 79 or 87 (my two fave places back in my pho-eating days). The greatest part of the meal, my ppl, was the iced coffee--made-to-order. You know how I could tell? By the wonderful fresh taste of it, and the remains of the condensed milk still dripping from the spoon that comes in the cup filled to the brim with ice. I have my own Vietnamese coffee filter at home, but these folks def know how to make it better. :) Now I see how "Coffee Shop" makes sense. I have been eating breakfast here at least every weekend for the past 5 years. When the new owner took over which was about the time I started coming in, business was a little slow. The word has gotten out on The Reyn and now I have to wait for a place to sit. That is the only bad thing is that it is becoming very popular and you may have to wait a couple of minutes for a seat. Me and the family had a late breakfast here today, 10ish. We walked through the back entrance and chose a both against the window. This was our first time here and first impressions are dated but clean. A Huge plus compared to Andy's. We were promptly given silverware and menus. Before walking away the bus boy asked our drink orders. The beverages were at our table before I was even able to go through the 5-6 page menus. Fantastic start Reyn. The waitress. Was soon close behind asking for our order. She realized quickly we were still look and said to take our time. She had to do this once more because I was tending to the little one. We ordered the Farmers after her suggestion and the wife had some Mexican omelet thing. Their coffee was a little weak for me but passable. Our food arrived in 10-15 minutes. Portions and technique were very good ie no browning on my scramble and pancakes golden bot brown. Tast was a little bland but that's why salt and pepper are on the table. The waitress came by to ask how we liked our food at lest three times in 30 minutes. The time it took us to eat. She refilled my coffee twice. My wife enjoyed her food and it looked delicious. All totaled 23 and some change. I thanked the manager as I paid and pointed out the service was excellent. He said it is a point of pride for him that all his staff were curtious and checked with guests frequently. If in the area try this place out. Good food and portions at at good price. The community vibe is apparent; this time a large party was celebrating a birthday and almost everyone present joined in singing "Happy Birthday. The place needs a serious update everywhere. Owned by an asian couple I think. It is local, comfortable and unpretentious. The waitress is wonderful and friendly. The place however needs to do a better job everywhere. First the food, it is usual breakfast and sandwich fare but you can get better coffee at home and it would be nice if they stopped using recycled mugs. Mine came already stained with dry coffee. The half and half sits on the tables for anybody to pour or do something else with it. The ketchup bottles are refilled so they all have crusty tops. The pancakes, french toast and sausages are nothing special. The banana bread is pretty good. The butter is some sort of substitute. So yes, I'll go back for convenience but not to enjoy the atmosphere or the food really. It caters to locals which sometimes don't even bother to get out of their jumpsuits, it caters to the Sunday church crowd and the retired people that like to fondle the paper and get stuck on the plastic benches.
