I enjoyed the crab legs, they were meaty, fresh, and the place kept them stocked despite being super busy. I sampled some other items too. The brisket was a miss--too fatty and burnt. The corn, though, was fresh and buttery. Dessert options could be better, and I wish the salad bar were bigger. One downside of buffets is feeling like you have to "get your money's worth," especially at $50 a head. We were in line for 1 hour and 20 minutes before making it the counter. I would bet, this is the estimated wait time for most people. I only go here for the seafood buffet on Saturday as I don't really care for any of their other food. Crab legs are the only thing I eat at this buffet and they are delicious. I would say the crab legs at River Buffet are even better than at some restaurants. Giving the long wait, I don't understand why they are not doing the number system. Sign in and get notified when the table is ready. It's a missed opportunity for a buffet located in Riverwind Casino. One, customers don't have to stand in line for hours and two, they can go play on the floor. I don't know what management is thinking, making people actually wait in line; this is CRAZY! Update from my review from 2 years ago. I have to say things have changed significantly since my last review. I definitely recommend the now "Willows Buffet ". I love the all you can eat crab leg night(Saturday) and that is the only day that I eat at willows. If you are willing to arrive 1-2 hrs. Prior to opening at 5:00 pm. On Saturday, it's definitely worth the price of $40. Service is excellent and the crab is very good, sometimes salty but usually cooked perfectly. If you're looking for all-you-can-eat crab legs in OKC, look no further! It's only $34 if you have a player's card and $40 if you don't. (You can sign up for one for free if you're 18+) Soft drinks are included. I believe it's only available on Saturday nights starting at 5pm so you might wanna come early and beat the rush. You have to wait in line for the crab legs and they come in buckets! It's 1 bucket per person with about 2 bundles or 10 crab legs. They also ask whether you prefer king crab legs, snow crab legs, or a mix. You can get in line as many times as you'd like. The lady serving the crab legs is so sweet and the line moves fast. The king crab legs were huge, but I was not a fan of the taste. It was more salty and dry than I prefer. The snow crab legs on the other hand were very good. It was easy to crack and tasted fresh. Overall, there was a good consistency with each crab leg. There's also a buffet with some pretty good options to choose from. We had steak, fried oysters, fried calamari and fried fish which were all pretty good. The dessert selection was also pretty nice! I was happy to see creme brûlée! Just watch out for some of the desserts since they can be extremely sweet. The crawfish was horrible and flavorless so I don't recommend trying this. A little pricey at $40 per person but they offer King and Snow crab legs. Yesterday's menu was the usual fried chicken, chicken fried steak, prime rib, turkey and dressing, meatloaf, baked potatoes and masked potatoes, sweet potatoes with marshmallows and brown sugar, peel and eat shrimp, some really delicious ceviche, and fried catfish. The also a Mexican station and I tried the beef enchiladas. They were ok I guess. Their weekly buffet price is $23.99 with 15% off if you use your players card so I thought that was a great deal for hubby and I. On Friday evening the River Buffet inside The Riverwind Casino, in Norman, has the best "all you can eat" Steak Buffet I have ever come across! There are different cuts of Steak, but the rib eye is by far my favorite! Fresh & Charbroiled right in front of you, {made to order}! The line for the buffet was definitely not as long as it was back in the day, so we got through fairly quickly and were seated after about 15 minutes of waiting. Also, the price of the buffet is usually $30, but since we had players cards, it was $4.50 off! The crab legs were not very juicy and stuck to the shell when you tried to peel them out. When I think of the River buffet, I think of Walmart. During the peak hours especially Friday and Saturday, it's pure pandemonium. The line is very long, everyone is angry, and there's only one checkout person. The food, I would say is equivalent to buying off brand food items; Great Value, Best Choice, ect. I've never had to pay for the food nor wait in line because I hold an elite card so I can give a pass on a lot of this. The food is at the very least not spoiled, it's just a bit bland. My favorite items are the shrimp cocktails and bread pudding. Everything else has been hit or miss. Either it's juicy/tasty or dry/bland, these are the same items just different days. As far as staff goes... At first I thought they were bad, but understanding that they are understaffed (partly due to covid, how are people just not working anymore?) and the insanity that was Saturday night (seafood night, don't bother btw) I could understand their patience waning thin. Every other day I've gone the staff has been very nice, though it may take awhile to get a refill on drinks, again, understaffed. Overall, I'd probably never pay out of my own pocket to eat here unless they lowered the price by at least $10 and wouldn't wait in line on their crazy nights. But I still come by and eat now and then, since I get 2-3 free meals here a month. There are other options in the casino. Upon arriving at the counter, the employee behind it did not acknowledge us at all; instead, she continued to mess with a few receipts and then looked up and waited for us to order. Perhaps a greeting is too much of a courtesy to offer one here. I'd like to say that was the worst of the experience, but that just wasn't the case. Absolutely nothing here impressed. Went to seafood night for the king crab legs with a friend. We were both very disappointed. The crab legs were alright, a little bland. The melted butter that you can get with it is very salty and doesn't taste like butter at all. They also have crawfish with corn in the same area they serve the crab legs. Those are also bland. My friend said that it seemed like they just boiled it and then sprinkled some seasoning on it after. The only thing that we thought was good were the oysters, but all they have to do is shuck and clean them so that's not really saying much. When we first started going there 5 years ago for the money and the quality was a pretty good deal but lately the quality of the beef they serve has fallen into the ditch. The last year or so the beef have gotten so tough with gristle that I could barely cut it with a steak knife and chewing it really tested my metal. This past Wednesday I'd heard the sunny side up promotion playing Thursday through Tuesday 20 points gets you a free meal at the Willows on Wednesday between 7 am and 4 pm. Well I didn't make it into the Willows due to the extremely long line and it was past lunch hour so I couldn't attest to the quality of the meal. If the cashier service and waiter staff is any indication, I'd have to say the meal probably equaled the poor service getting into the restaurant and that Willows is really taking advantage of Mr. Ken Parkinson (Manager) of Riverwind Casino's generosity by paying for the 50 and over crowds meals. I'm not knocking the staff I know they work very hard but lets face it Willows has been raking in the cash while not giving good service when you run a free promotion people are going to flock in in droves why hasn't Willows responded with greater numbers in employees to service the Casino's clients. Easy answer is more people served, guaranteed money comes in from the Casino, higher profit margin if you don't pay for more workers. Plus buy low quality foods. In the long haul people will stop wasting their money at Willows. read more

The cashier was friendly and quick. Our waitress was the sweetest. she kept our drinks full and promptly removed empty plates and our ONE crab bucket. But every other aspect of the River was deplorable! The buffet opens at 5:00 and our ticket showed that we paid at 5:08. After paying $40 for the buffet then waiting in line for 30 minutes she deserved the fresh legs! No need for attitude! Even though I was the second person to get king crab legs out of the tub i was so disappointed to find that my crab legs were complete rubber. Not sure why they had crackers available because the shells just bent. I could literally wrap them around my finger! It was insanely ridiculous! But wait, it gets better! The cocktail sauce was spaghetti sauce, when it was mention to the server behind he counter they confirmed that the wrong can was opened but they wouldn't allow them to take it off the bar because that would be "wasteful". Management has no clue what good management is. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that the line was the only way they could keep the crab legs fresh.. what?? No, they're not fresh because they bend and are rubbery. I was told it was a "seafood" buffet not a crab buffet and there were other food choices. I was also told I could stay as long as I needed when I complained about the time it took to get a single bucket of crab legs. Really, that's your solution? Tell the customer to stay until close if they like so your waitstaff then has less customers therefore less tips? That manager seriously needed to go back out and work on the casino floor because food service is not her expertise! The River was a complete disappointment. Pretty good Buffet yet items are limited compared to similar buffets. I have been here several times, including a Thanksgiving, which was disappointing. Hoping the line would die down a little I got in the other line. Most of the food I got was not up to serving temp. They keep your plate on their side of the counter so if someone in front of you can't make up their mind on what they want your food just sits there getting cold.
