I suspect the prices are so high to cover the rent and realize a profit. Books are so WAY overpriced I can't believe it. For a buck I can load up on brand new books at Dollar Tree - often very good titles and authors. And Goodwill and Valley rescue Mission have great selections. If you're into history, a lot of books from the hoi polloi at Fort Benning end up in these places. Many excellent titles. Granted, for a buck old VHS tapes can be a steal and you can swoop on some excellent titles. Most of the tapes I get still play with no problem. But I never buy DVDs because they usually don't let you open and check for scratches or other defects. Yard sales are a much better option for those predisposed to going 'junking'...

It is staffed very well by nice, caring cashiers and some know the inventory better than others. The owners and managers consign and price items very well. I shop there a lot - consigning name brand outgrown clothes and equipment and buying clothes, shoes, toys and equipment for 3 kids for the last 5 years and I have high standards. You need to shop often and go in person. Don't expect service over the phone. There are no guarantees. You are buying used, granted gently used, but used items. The owners care about their regular customers and will go the extra mile, but remember where you're shopping.

When I sell my clothes to Plato's Closet already know the items they will and won't take and how much I typically get for my clothes. But let's be honest each transaction is different based upon who sorting the clothing, but I digress. *** Plato's Closet buys gently used trendy/name brand clothing for a fraction of the price and resells it to their customers. *** On this particular day I brought in a bin of spring/summer clothes and a box of shoes. Most of my clothes were from Express, shoes from Aldo and Nike, and two gently used Kate Spade bags. The ladies at the front counter were extremely helpful. It took about 30 minutes for them to sort through my clothing and price it. I was very happy with my experience at this location . I received $238 for my clothing and traded in a few of those dollars for a new outfit.

Their trade in values suck the one in Auburn gives way better prices and has overall better stuff.read more
