This is a good place to stop for a meal as you drive through Chetwynd. The service is friendly, the prices, while not cheap, seem fair. I had the Riverhouse Burger. There was a nice large burger inside, not a fast food style flat mass produced burger. It was quite good but messy. M bun had disintegrated before I was finished. I ate the rest with a knife and fork. That has happened in other places where they try to toast the bun. My burger came with a choice of salad, soup, fries, and, I think, onion rings. I opted for the healthy choice of the salad and it was nearly a meal in itself. Needless to say nobody leaves here hungry. Parking is plentiful including if you are towing a trailer. The restaurant was quiet enough to be able to converse without difficulty. I can recommend the Riverhouse to anyone (not that there are a lot of alternatives in Chetwynd). read more

Home style food with great food & easy to get to off the highway. We had the River burger with it's crispy bacon, real cheddar & mushrooms plus a very decent Reuben, the best in many efforts we've tried for some time. The server Olivia, was cheerful, knowledgeable, & had a wonderful smile. Definitely will come back if we're ever back this way. read more

Hip small town charm overload.... ' Been to this place a couple times and the customer experience has always been above par to some of the urban joints I patronize. Uber friendly staff - they've remmembered me on all occasions and I'm an 'outta towner'. Had the River Burger and on both occasions -bar none exceptional. A unique alpine ambiance in the cold months. Very open, sort of rustic/mechanical feel. Ill be biased, the fries(yes the fries) were a food group by themselves . I will retaliate- the burger and the fixings were the best thing I've ever stuffed my face since Xmas. Will keep coming back. read more

Passing through on our way from Alaska to California and asked our front desk employee at Days Inn to recommend a place for dinner, she gave us a few leads, including Riverhouse, but said it had received poor reviews for service, we went anyway, and we elected to sit in the bar to have dinner. We were promptly greeted and seated by a wonderful young woman who would come to be our server as well. Jessica was fantastic from beginning to end and I would HIGHLY recommend her! Food was good, not great, certainly not for anyone watching their waistline! Ambiance is nice, but could management please remove some over head light bulbs or put them on a dimmer? Lighting is terrible, as it is way too bright and you feel like you are on a stage or similarly brightly lit venue. I expect this type of terrible lighting at Denny's but not at an independent place trying to be other than a place like Denny's. Go in and have some great conversation and service from Jessica, you'll be very happy you did!!! read more

Overall, awful service and the staff and management does not show any care for their work or customers. Story below Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. The only reason it gets two stars was because the food was good. It is was not a busy night and only two of us. The waitress took a really long time to even come over and ask for drink orders. She arrived with my martini on the same tray and the other drinks with an ounce of the martini on the tray already. She didn't clean the glass and it left puddles on the table. The food arrives but my friend's received the wrong order! He ordered the Italian Sausage Penne and got the pesto spaghetti. She didn't even stay and ask if it was correct. We spent 5 mins flagging down any waitress and she took it away but didn't apologize. We didn't see anyone for 20 mins! Our waitress returned with the new food and apologized giving half off the plate. She should have come over immediately and better yet at a good restaurant it would be the manager coming over to apologize. After our meal, we are paying and the waitress enter a completely wrong amount into the machine and it was only changed because we noticed. She also did not even check the receipt and have us sign it as that was needed because we used an American card. Have been here 3 times and the service gets worse each time. read more

AVOID AT ALL COST. The food is alright the service is beyond terrible. You will never witness a restraunt like this one. Never again. Wait an hour and half for an appy.
