I gave Cliff a second chance in 2015 after he disappeared on me. Now he has done it again. I've been working with him for 5 years and purchased over $50,000 worth of custom cases from him. And now he decides to not answer his phone, return my calls, or answer my emails. It's been 2 months since I heard from him and not only did I lose my money I had to buy other cases to replace the one he was suppose to be building for me. Update: I had to use a legal service who retrieved my equipment and the full prepaid amount less the legal services fee of 400$. So despite my loss ,this business did eventual repay . The owner has since apologized post review for not communicating he was unable to fulfill this order and for his inappropriate handling of this transaction. I ordered a case on June 07, 2015 and it arrived safely at my home in Ontario on June 29th (approximately three weeks later). The price of the case was quite reasonable (the best quote I got, actually) and fit my vintage Deluxe Reverb amplifier like a glove. Cliff missed his first ship date by a few days, and I admit I panicked after reading some of the reviews on this site, but he did come through. He shipped via Purolator and sent me a tracking number. A very well-made case, and a good completion time. Any hiccups I may have experienced could possibly be chalked up to a busy shop that is somewhat under-staffed. read more

Just an update: I did receive delivery of my case yesterday and it is a very well made and designed product... No complaints there. It took a long time from payment to completion, but I am happy. I did get a chance to see Cliff's operation and meet him. He is certainly not a criminal, just a guy growing and keeping his business together. He runs a nice shop and has good design tools. To avoid further complains all that is required is to tell clients like it is. There certainly is no problem with what Cliff makes, it is good stuff and I've bought a lot of custom cases over the years. *Update to previous review* Having received my case, I can attest to the extremely high quality of Cliff's product. The case that I ordered required a customized interior, and the finished product fits my light like a glove. While my order was not completed according to the original timeline that I was quoted at, Cliff kept me up to date on the progress of my case, and compensated me accordingly for the extra time. In the end, the case that I received is everything I asked for, and I am satisfied with my purchase. In attempting to do business in the markets of today there are generally (2) types of business people - those who strive for the fastest way to line their pockets & those who genuinely strive to provide "quality solutions" to problems that clients face in their worlds. Unfortunately, those who strive to do a good job, but fall short in some way, are often lumped into the same category as the "pocket liners". This can sometimes be an accurate bundling assessment, but only if the supplier fails to stand behind his product & correct any factual deficiencies identified by his client. Over the years, since even before Road Case Guys first opened their doors, I have worked with Cliff Lanouette, both as a client & a sounding board, to see how he could develop the best product for the industry in which he chose to work. This journey has definitely been an interesting adventure, as we attempted to combine years of manufacturing experience with Cliff's vision for Road Case Guys - at times fraught with strong differences of opinion, but always ending up with the product that The Display Centre was looking for. This sometimes took more than one try, but the end result was there, even if it took longer than first planned. We have had 3 separate orders in the past 6 months with Road Case Guys and every time RCG has been exceptional to work with. Communication and customer service has been excellent and we/they have been very clear on expectations and deliverables. First 2 orders, cases were completed/delivered on exact day RCG said they would be completed and recently 3rd order was a rush order and RCG finished case 3 days before due date which was unexpected but helped us out greatly. On all 3 orders, they met us halfway to deliver the cases and worked around our timing. This company and it's owner SUCK. I was quoted a price for 3 cases. Then asked for 50% deposit, which I paid immediately. They (badly) made one case and stopped there. No refund. No call back from numerous attempts from me. I recommended them for a job with the National Music Centre in Calgary and it took FOREVER and threatened legal action to get the job finished. They lie. They take FOREVER, if it gets done at all, the customer service is rotten and I wouldn't use them again if life depended on it. I ran into a guy that runs a CNC mill here in Calgary. He told me he used to be in business with Cliff and to RUN in other direction. You should too. read more
