This church is amazing. The Pastor team - Tom, Heather, Donny, Nicole, Felix, Tiffany, Dave, Michelle and everyone else are caring and have helped my family in so many ways. I am learning about Jesus and so are my kids. My daughter started coming with my grandkids and even my older Son who wasn't sure about God comes. The church is a family of brother's and sisters who support, motivate and encourage each other. If you need someone to talk to they are there. This church truly loves people to life. The Building others are speaking of is necessary due to the amazing growth and current limited space. We are blessed with the new building. Mark 11:22 says - And Jesus answered them, "Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Matthew 21:22 And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith." *** by speaking things we are able to make things happen. We are taught the importance of prayer and the power it has in your life. This church has strengthened my family one by one. There are different powerful sessions - Marriage sessions, Breaking Free / we also are very involved with the community. Always looking for a way to reach out to anyone who is in need. This church has brought something into my life that I couldn't have found by myself. I invite everyone to this church. I have found my home. Pastor Tom, Today I woke up as I'm sure u did. Difference is I haven't been to ur service it's hard to recall but I want to say since late 2016 early 2017 definitely if my memory still serves me, priory to the covid epidemic most likely as we all could never forget. W/ that being said I just wanted to take the time out of my day to let u know how powerful ur words are, not only ur words but how the way u truly projection how u truly feel in depth w/ the sense of self of awareness/ openness about ur own experiences that u've shared on more than 1 occasions according to ur word. I live now in Los Angeles & my life is completey blessed & fulfilled. But 1 thing I can't honestly stop thinking about is the day after ur service when I had nothing asking if ur church could share some candles bc my power was completely shut off & didn't have any money to turn it back on w my children.. i honestly was just expecting acouple candles & a flashlight at the v most. Loving people to life is sadly not done here. I was a member for 9 years and it hurt to leave but could no longer stay blind to everything I saw and all the fakeness. The pastors were one way in front of certain people and another behind close doors. It became a business , all about getting another building, I feel bad for pastor Tom and Heather. I was a little disappointed today at drive-up food distribution. I have a family of 10 because some family members live with me. I only got 2 half gallon of Organic expired milk, opened it at it was bad!!!! 1 small container of habanero salsa and 4 cheese sticks! Come on now! No bread, etc... I have been here before and have received plenty of food, I have donated and helped $$ when I can. How am I suppose to help feed my small grand babies with that? We get our food stamps on the 10th of November. read more

This church use to be about Jesus and loving people but when it became Elevate that all changed . It became a business , all about getting another building and even down to the pastors lying. It was very hard to let it go and I knew it was time to leave. I went there a few times and I liked the Pastors message but the it is Hollywood music and lights. The co-pastor the wife, something is off. She is nice enough, but I felt she looked down on me and didn't have time for me because I wasn't thin, young and rich...that's how I felt. We were there a month, no one cares. My son went there and I feel it is cultist...his personality his changed and he got married there. I found there staff to uninvolved... it was a long story. There is some teaching...I am not sure if it is false teaching but based on my son has said and his departure from sound doctrine are off. We've been pastors for years and he has told us some the teaching which is not biblical. I hope those who have been rejected there find love and please. Try Good news church in Riverside, CA. I struggled with whether or not I should write this review but, I feel it's important to let others know that this is no longer a place to be called a true house of God. According to 1 Timothy 5:20, I am well within my right to do so. I write this review with no malice in my heart and only genuine concern for anyone looking for a true Bible believing church to worship. Our family attended The Rock Church for almost a year. We considered it a second home and held volunteer roles for quite some time which we enjoyed a great deal for awhile. But as time went on, it became very "cult-ish". The "pastors", who even traveled to perform our wedding in West Hollywood, were very kind and seemed loving UNTIL you question their doctrine. It seems as though once you aren't buying into everything they preach, things very quickly change. We also began to find out more and more things about their personal lives that were a bit disturbing. As the church began to grow, the messages went from love and gospel to church politics and building funds. They seem to be obsessed with becoming the next Joel and Victoria Osteen. They have become extremely condescending and have forgotten their own slogan of loving people to life. Many members have began to leave for the same reasons and several have contacted us expressing concerns. The "pastors" have even gossiped about fellow church members! We decided to leave the church and now when we run into congregation members in public they act very strange around us as if they have been told not to associate with us. It's all very odd. It breaks my heart to see how something so good has gotten warped into something so clique-ish and creepy. Stay far away from this church! It is exactly the type of place that gives Christians a bad name!!! read more

In response to Thomas F.'s (Pastor Flores) comment/response to my review: It took you ELEVEN days to respond to my comment, and when you finally did you inundated my Email in-box with excuses and zero accountability: "All our phone operators are volunteers with full time jobs...". If you don't have any volunteers or workers for ELEVEN days who can't answer a question for a potential new member of your congregation, then your church has bigger issues other than what I think of it. When you did finally respond you put the accountability on MY shoulders saying that you've "made several attempts to reach [me] to no avail" . Only in the last few days and only because you didn't care for my review. Interesting that only after reading my review and comments that someone deemed it worthy time and attention. Also, when I phone a business -- whether it be a church or any other type of business -- I don't care to leave my phone number just to ask a question. Your voice mail doesn't have an option for prompts where it will lead to an actual person, instead it goes straight to the old: "Leave a number and someone will get back to you...." It may as well say: "We're very busy and self-important and we'll get to you when we get to you". And it certainly felt that way, too. The defensive tone in your Email's didn't help, either. I truly do wish you success, but it will be with one less person attending your church, and this person stands by their initial review. read more

I've been going to this church for 2yrs now. I love the pastors message he is truely the strong part of the church, plus other ministers there including his wife. But worship service isn't so great. They lack a true worship leader. Everybody who sings seem to do a lot of individual songs while the crowd doesn't seem to really get into it. They lost their original worship leader and it hasn't been the same since. Also in the youth my child was in choir and kept getting over look to sing a song.... they have their clicks there and the youth pastor does nothing about it. But the staff & Usher's and the people around there are friendly and kind people. It's getting better...especially once they find a true Worship leader. read more

I found this church on Yelp when searching for a church near my location in Riverside. I think they changed the name to Elevate Church. We received such a warm welcome by several people as we found a seat in the full room. The pastor Tom Flores was warm, genuine, and inspirational. I felt touched by Gods presence and would love to come back again. This church is on a big growing campaign and I certainly understand why. The Rock Church Riverside is ALIVE!! The gospel of salvation is preached and lives are being transformed by the power of God!! This is my testimony, I was dead but now I am alive! I have been to a few churches along my journey of 22 years of walking with the Lord. All of them for a purpose. But it feels real good to have found a home. Our Pastors are real, genuine, full of wisdom and grounded in the word of God. The people are friendly, cheerful and care for one another. Worship is amazing and full of His Presence. It was important for me to find a place that my teenagers felt comfortable and excited about going to church once again. It has been a blessing to see our family grow and thrive. I say this church is guided by the Lord. The worship was on point. The people were friendly the teen ministry has their own spot. They have a strong men's group and women's group. But their marriage groups seems the best of them all from my point of view. They also have a sound midweek on Wednesday nights. So 4 stars but I'm new..[honeymoon stage still]....so far it's a keeper. read more

Wow I'm amazed at these Christians who left all these bad reviews. What happen to thou should not judge. This church did wonders for me at a time i was at my lowest. The pastor in my eyes did all a pastor does n beyond. It's not easy being a pastor. The enemy loves to hit you with situations. Situations like all the bad reviews. I started going to the Rock Church in Riverside after attending a women's conference last year. I was really hurt in my previous church here in LA and wanted to find a church where the pastors weren't trying to be "Christian celebrities". I started driving to the Rock church every week and I got to know Pastors Tom and Heather Flores. These are two of the most down to earth and compassionate people you will meet. They truly have a heart for people! I have called Heather at different times when I need encouragement and support and she has always offered me love and never hangs up without praying for me. She has always pointed me to Jesus and has never tried to control me. The people in the church are some of the kindest people I have met during my almost 7 years of living in LA. They truly love people to life. I know first hand because that is what they did for me. I have grown in my relationship with Jesus and I am so thankful for this community! read more

This is an awesome and exciting House of God! The first time my wife and I stepped foot in the front door, we were greeted with love and friendship. We have joyfully made this our home church, and have stayed planted here for the last 7 months and as a result, we have continued to flourish not only spiritually, but emotionally, as we have been treated like family by 2 of the most loving pastors I have ever interacted with, Pastors Tom and Heather Flores! They radiate the church's motto "Loving people to life," with every action, and with every kind word! The church mimics the heart of it's pastors, and in this case you can ask for nothing more from a House of God, than pastors and members that will genuinely love you to life!
