This establishment need a serious training of their staff they aren't welcoming at all!!! My husband and I stoped by to have a drink and enjoy the view but our experience was far from enjoyable. First they assigned us a glass table that was broken( picture attached) and second they wouldn't even change our table because the 10 others were set for dinner but not one of them was actually taken. They were just lazy to remove the silverware. They didn't even get our order right even though it is not that hard to remember 2 drinks. At 11 pm on a Tuesday night, I am wide awake on a very hard bed with a bright green exit light illuminating the entire room, listening to Jumping Jack Flash from the band that started playing 30 minutes ago. The sewage smell in the elevator is a lot less strong than it was earlier today, and the sewage smell from the bathroom is mild but distinctive. The thermostat says 53 (too cold for the room in Fahrenheit and too warm for Celsius) and is broken. I'm cold, and there isnt an extra blanket in the room. I haven't complained to the front desk because I'm not sure how they could possibly fix everything wrong here. read more

Went for high tea and waited for 45 minutes while the waitress walked by and not once helped us or said a word. Went to the manager and asked if this was a custom here and he said no and apologized. I would pass this one by. read more

Our stay in the Rock Hotel was for one night. We arrived around 7pm and we were really hungry. So I checked Yelp and other applications, then decided to try the room service and I don't regret it. The service is so quick, the food is hot and fresh. Nice presentation and very delicious. Staff are friendly. I do recommend the hotel and the food at their restaurant. The good thing is, they are open 24/7. When the weather is good and sunny, the seating area out in the balcony is much nicer to enjoy the amazing view. I should say the price was a bit higher than average for a room service. read more

We stayed four nights at the Rock Hotel and the positives here were the free parking, large swimming pool, onsite restaurant and bar/lounge, clean facility, and great staff. The hotel is also a short walk to city center, which we visited daily as there isn't anything in the immediate area. There aren't too many negatives for the hotel, but I'll mention the pool isn't heated and you have to walk across the street to get to it. Also, the beds were too stiff for me and my wife, which actually caused us to lose sleep. I didn't think much at the time, but once I checked out of the Rock Hotel in Gibraltar and checked in to a Marriott in Paris (second leg of our trip), we were able to get a good nights sleep. I think it's a good hotel and I'd recommend it to anyone, except those that can't sleep in stiff beds. I'm giving it 4* for the hotel even though I won't come back because it has a lot of positives. read more
