There are no specialized ESL or Special Education teachers available, yet the school keeps accepting students with these needs while class sizes grow to unmanageable levels. It is no longer the high-quality environment it used to be.

Not my favorite church to go to, but not too bad either…read more From what I can tell based on the few times I've been to this church, the parishioners are really welcoming, friendly, and warm. I've always felt included and think probably just about anyone would feel the same way walking into this church. I also think they have some variety when it comes to their music. I've now heard a violin, harp, and piano. Definitely better than a typical pipe organ mass (that's for sure). The mass is in the 60-minute range so it doesn't feel rushed or drawn-out. Things I did not particularly care for (as I am pretty conservative). 1. On one occasion, a woman said the homily (and no the priest didn't add anything after her homily). So your initial reaction to this might be that I am some backwards-1960s housewife that isn't for equality. Not even in the slightest....but that's an argument for a different day. 2. I had a friend of mine approach the priest after mass asking if he could set up an appointment time for confession. The priest responded by saying that he could come back during normal confession hours. Sometimes people are unable to make the very short confession times you offer (hence the request for an appointment). I understand that priests are VERY, VERY busy, but not once in my life has anyone I've known ever received that kind of reaction. Again....a discussion for another day. I'd say this is a great place to come if you want a laid-back, not-too-conservative parish. If you tend to be more on the conservative side, a few things may make your blood boil. Overall, not too impressed with the priest, but love their parishioners.

During my Christmas visit to friends and relatives, I had the joy of attending one of my favorite…read moreliturgical events--the celebration of the Nativity of our Lord, during the night (a.k.a: Midnight Mass). Since Holy Trinity parish was less than a half mile away from where I was staying, I took some family members here to worship God through the holy sacrifice of the Mass on Christmas Eve. The choir was very talented and executed a small amount of polyphony along with some classics like Adeste Fidelis, Joy to the World, and some additional Filipino Christmas works. The priest gave an excellent homily and had the assistance of s newly assigned deacon. I liked that the tabernacle was immediately behind the altar (as in ancient times). There was plenty of parking and everyone seemed super friendly. When one of my loved ones came down with one of those dry throat coughs that even water cannot remedy, a wonderful lady generously gave me a whole entire pack of wintergreen mints which did the trick after 2 mints. I will always be indebted to her for her incredible kindness. As visitors, I was so humbled and appreciative. Yes even in this day and age, there are still wonderful people in our world. I would definitely come back again. Thank you all for a wonderful Christmas Mass experience!

It's great to see a church focused on both the local community as well as some of the broader issues around the globe. It's a relaxed atmosphere with good music and lots of opportunities to make an impact and be involved.

I've been a Christian for almost 50 years. In that time I've attended a Bible college for 2 years…read more(Multnomah University) and received tons on training for various types of ministries, including leading small groups. I'm no stranger to that. About 2 years ago my wife and I began attending this church, and I began to think about what ministry I could plug into. I settled on home study groups, and asked the pastor how I could get into that. He explained their process which I felt was reasonable. It involved joining an ongoing group and working with the group leader, assisting him for a few meetings, which I did. When I had completed the process, the group leader said I did fine and would communicate that with the pastor. It was understood at that point that my next step would be to establish a new study group somewhere in the church community. Both the group leader and the pastor knew this, and after I had completed my training and the study group had ended, I waited patiently for the pastor to contact me. He never did. So, one Sunday I stood waiting in the wings and caught him as he was leaving the stage. He was very brisk with me and wondered why I was waiting for him. I explained that I haven't heard from him and would like to know when the new groups would be starting up. He said "Well, I need to have your proposal for a new group in my Hand by the end of the day today because today is the deadline." Wow. There had been no communication to me about that deadline. And both the pastor and the group leader I worked with knew what my intentions and hopes were because I was pretty clear in my communication. I have never written a review for another church here on Yelp, but my experience with this pastor was very surprising. I was taken aback by his attitude. It's not like they have a gazillion group leaders coming out their ears, I don't understand why there was no communication to me or why he never even got back to me to talk with me about it further, even after my last encounter with him. You would think that when someone shows an interest in serving in the church, and especially in situations where there was a disconnect, the pastor would get back with you and talk about it and reconnect to discuss and review where to go from here. But what I got was Zero, nothing, nada. No followup with me whatsoever. Personally, I find that to be pretty inexcusable. His bedside manner is not the best I've ever seen, that's for sure. So I left the church. Not only was I unimpressed, I was saddened considerably. I would also add that while the preaching here is decent, it comes with what appears to be humor from the stage, but I have other thoughts about that. Dress code is very relaxed and informal. People are friendly.
