John took his time to cut my hair right and it looks great. I'm getting tons of compliments from people about it. I'll definitely be coming back!

My boys' (husband and toddler) go-to spot for a great cut every time. Thanks for all the fellow yelpers and Nextdoor, we are loyal clients to Rex for a detailed and precise men's cut and Heather for an even tot's cut. Some toys, cute takeaway loot for a child accompanied Heather's warm and friendly personality with a toddler makes me a fan. No attitude and nothing fancy here but quality cuts by friendly and happy people with excellent style techniques.

It's been 6 years since I wrote my last review of the Roosevelt Barbershop & I feel it's well overdue for an update! I've been a loyal customer to Rex, owner and barber at the Roosevelt. Before, Rex used to work at a couple of different barber shops in Seattle. I used to frequently visit him as a young UW student when he worked at Supreme Cutz on University Way. Over 10 years later, I still get my haircut from the same barber. Even better, he now owns his own barber shop. I've changed my hairstyle a few times over the past 10 years and not once, has Rex ever messed up my hair. In fact, if he's unavailable to cut my hair during a certain week, I'll suck it up and have my hair all long and ugly, rather than to get it all jacked up by some random barber in the Seattle area. Its that worth it! Anyways, make sure to call at least a week before your desired date, since they do get pretty busy. There are 2 other barbers there, Matt & Niko that both do great work as well. If you're particular, call and ask to make an appointment with Rex. You won't go wrong. Also, the Roosevelt Barbershop cuts all variety of hair. If you want a clean fade with a line up or just a normal trim, or whatever! They can do it all! This shop is for everyone! Even my dad has gone there! Prices: $25 for a haircut. (Cash Only) While it may be more expensive than Super Cuts or Sports Clips, it sure looks like it. Treat yourself to a nice haircut and look good! I've had countless friends and even strangers ask where I get my haircut. The Roosevelt is definitely a top notch barbershop and you walk out feeling like a $100 bucks! The best in Seattle!

Zak always cleans me up and makes me look like the man I ought to be. I recommend this shop and Zak specifically to anyone who asks.

Kory magically reinvented my hat-of-hair. The shop is bare-bones, but the vibe is super-friendly.

It's come to this: the Colman Building Barbershop is the only place I'll get my hair cut anymore…read more I've had cheap haircuts and I've had expensive ones. Robby's shop falls somewhere in the middle, price-wise, but his work and his partner Madison's are consistently at the top of the list when I get out of the chair and get a look at what they've done. There's never that awkward "oh no, what am I going to do with this?" moment when you see it for the first time. Simply put, their cuts look fabulous, every time. As experiences go, the Colman Barbershop is fun and relaxing. You can go expecting funny adult conversation with a racy edge to it, classic rock on the stereo, a comfortable old-school barbershop chair to sit in, and a phone that rings like a phone, not an electronic tweet. Robby and Madison not only deliver a great cut, they have genuine fun chatting with you and with each other while you're there. And men? Go with the knowledge that you're not quite done when your hair is done. You've got a rare treat in store before you're all the way finished, a back-of-the-neck shave with warm shaving cream and a straight razor, followed up with a warm wet towel. It's a delight for the senses not to be missed, and it feels fantastic afterwards. So. It comes to this: get thee to the Colman Building Barbershop for 45 minutes of entertaining downtime, for good music, for a little nostalgia, and most importantly, for the best haircut you'll ever have. Call me picky, but I won't settle for anything less.
