Been here a few times and today was the day that I finally got pictures. I really like having another small business breakfast/brunch place in our small town. This place is pretty good, there is room for them to be great though! I will say besides their avocado toast hands down my favorite are their breakfast sandwiches. I only WISH they would put these on their menu, however they are a bit messy but packed with flavor, eat them with a fork I say! Haha. You do have to ask for them and I always forget what they are so I just keep it to a sausage egg and cheese biscuit. Today tried some bacon and they were cooked perfectly. Also had their ice white chocolate latte. Here's another WISH this place could really have some fun at doing coffee flights. We have nothing like that in our area and to be able to go to a place local to get a coffee flight would be pretty great. I'll keep dreaming though, I just like what I like. Delicious. I had The Angry Pig. The flavors of this sandwich caught me by surprise. It's definitely a step above your average deli sandwich. Delicious with a capital D! There was a slice of ham, some bacon, jalapenos, and caramelized onions. I also tried their soup of the week. It was black beans and chorizo with cilantro. Yum!! So delicious, great flavor with a perfect level of spiciness. Basically, you walk in and place your order. They have tables inside and outside. You choose a table and place the order number card on your table. Then you serve yourself beverages and they bring your food to you. They have Stubborn soda here and it's so much better than typical soda options at most restaurants. Service when placing our order was adequate and a bit rushed as they were busy. Not super great when it's your first visit, but the food made up for that. If you require attentive service then this is not the place for you. Hidden gem!! This place is absolutely incredible! I love the fact that's although it feels like a super casual spot, their menu and vibes don't reflect that of a casual spot. I ordered the weekend special of chicken and pancakes... the chipotle syrup was ridiculous! So good! I also ordered the ribeye omelette, they do not shy away from throwing beef at you. Visited again just yesterday morning for breakfast and again The Rooted Fork provided a hearty breakfast. This time I remembered not to order my daughter (2) her own plate and she ate off of mine and my husband's. She never eats eggs, no matter how I make them. She was eating eggs off of our plates like it was her last meal! Might have to go here everyday so my daughter can get her protein in! The Staff at Rooted Fork are always friendly and constantly walking around to help and clean. We love coming here for breakfast in the early morning on the weekends, right before it gets really busy. Small little establishment, in the small town of Cibolo, with giant flavorful food. The Rooted Fork is a must try if ever in the neighborhood and recommend getting there early. Went around noon and had an hour wait but got a chance to sit down at a table and snack on their fresh made blueberry cookie (cookie got eaten before pic). Place was packed and the service quality remained high. We did not mind spending $10-$20 per person for our meal for the quality fresh food served. I got the Forky Bowl that was loaded with tator tots, sausage, green peppers and scrambled egg. Recommend getting the side of gravy for those that love heavy hearty "country style" breakfast. Almost finished my meal and the steam was still coming off the food. Wife got the Eggs Benedict with bacon. Anytime a meal can give you that food coma feeling you know it's worth planning going back. Outside fenced-in porch seating is the best, especially for families with kids, but you risk the train horn interrupting conversations. The train is usually quick to get through to town, and you get used to it. Still, it might be overwhelming for those with sensory issues (so it best to let your loved ones know, so there aren't any surprises, or bring some sound-reducing headphones - I highly suggest Loops Experience ear plugs, perfect for all size ears). Even though the location is next to the road, there isn't much road noise. Let me first start with what I did not like. The honey lavender latte was just not my thing. My friends and I all tasted it and it was just too bitter of a flavor. Too weird. Maybe some people like that but I did not lol. But that's just my taste experience and it's not the business' fault. Okay, now that this is out of the way lol... this place is super cute and in a really cute location. I live in SA so it was nice to be outside city limits. It is a bit on the pricey side, but I didn't mind it cause I don't do this often. The food was great, the potatoes super nice and crispy and when I asked one of the servers if I could change my drink she was super nice, she did not make me feel like a Karen lol. But that's understandable with the open seating. There is a nice crowd there on the weekends- tables outside, on the porch and inside. The reason I rated a 3 star instead of higher is due to the amount of flies in the restaurant. It's disgusting to be swatting flies out of your food- this is inside, not out on the porch or yard. Drinks are self serve. We tried the Eggs Benedict, Shrimp Benedict, pancakes, biscuit, and a kid's breakfast platter. The Eggs Benedict was ok, but lacked flavor. I salted it, but it was still bland. The potatoes looked good, but didn't taste like much. My kids were happy with their food, but the toast came dry and there were no no-sugar options for syrup or jelly for a diabetic child. The biscuit was served dry. When I asked for better, I was given margarine instead. For a local breakfast place, butter should be used and not gross fake butter substitute. As for drinks, the counter girl said they had Diet Coke, but in reality, they have Stubborn sodas as the drink option. I was annoyed that I was told one thing and then that product wasn't available. This is such a cute place to grab brunch! We met friends here on a Saturday morning and had such a good brunch. The space is really nice with both indoor and outdoor seating areas which is a huge plus. It has a nice relaxed vibe even though they were pretty busy with it being a weekend. You order you food at the counter once you walk in at their counter and they give you table numbers to take with you when you go sit down. I went with their eggs benedict which comes with roasted potatoes. Our food came out to our table pretty quick and I was happy with the potion sizes. The eggs benedict was perfect! The eggs were cooked just to my likely and the hollandaise sauce was super delicious. The potatoes were crispy and flavorful as well.
