Wouldn't you just love to live in a village where one of the few local pubs is right next door? I…read moreknow I would. Well, my other half's parents do. Adjacent to their beach house is a quaint, quirky and very lovely little pub that everyone refers to as 'The Chemist'. It's exceptionally handy if you live on The Strand as you can pretty much just stagger home after a few, but it also boasts a smoking area at the back with decking, patio heaters and a super beach view as the Strand is in fact the closest street to the sand. The decorations are fab too and you'll find yourself chortling away at numerous humorous signs dotted about the place. This is one of those bars where everyone probably will know your name if you've been a few times. If it's crowded it can get a little claustrophobic, but don't let that put you off as the ambience will soon see you right.
