She even styled me for my wedding day and did a remarkable job. I moved away from the area last year and have been to at least 5 stylists now. No one has the same magic that Kellie has! She's an artist! A true master at her craft. If I could afford to fly to Tauranga every 6 weeks to see Kellie, I would! There's been a bit of turnover in the stylists, but I've now had 3 appointments with Paula, and she is great. She has the right balance of talk (not too much to be annoying, but enough that it seems she genuinely wants to know you and know about you as her customer). Paula took over where my former stylist left off, providing me with 2-colored highlights every 8-10 weeks. She takes care in the application and cut and style afterward; my appointments usually last about 2 - 2.5 hours. The decor is modern salon style decor - I can't really say that it's anything special but it's clean and nice and I feel relaxed in there. I like the nice little touch of being offered water, juice or wine with my highlights! They have a variety of upscale-type hair products and tools. I find that I'm quite happy every time and feel that the price I pay is about right for the quality I receive (about $160 for 2-color highlights, shampoo, cut, style and blow-dry). They are conveniently located in the CBD, and have recently procured 2 free parking spots in the lot adjacent to the salon, making parking a breeze (and free for the entire length of your appointment).

I chose Liz Ward because a Google search turned up a bunch of press and awards, and their Facebook page displayed a fancy and diverse range of hair products. I get the impression that they're usually pretty booked up, but they were able to squeeze me into a cancellation - yay! The salon itself is in a cute little refurbished bungalow with polished floors, white walls and a clean yet classy aesthetic. Upon arrival I was brought an ornate side table with a chocolate and glass of water, which made me feel a little bit spoiled right away. The head massage was absolutely heavenly - it's probably worth going here just for that. The nice lady who washed my hair walked me through all of the products she was using and made sure the water was always the perfect temperature. The cut itself was as expected, the hairdresser was friendly and showed me how to maintain my split ends during cuts. Once it was all over with my sister in law said that my hair looked longer than it did when I went in, which is exactly what I was aiming for. I'm now practically split end free. The best part? It was nearly half the price of a haircut in Melbourne. A cut, Moroccan Oil moisture restoring treatment and blowdry set me back a total of $80. Totally affordable. I have added this to my (tiny) list of trusted hair salons, and I'll probably come back here next time I have to visit family in Katikati.

I will say he does do a good colour as he used to be a rep for L'oreal . Salon is clean and staff friendly . They also have a beauty salon for facials , eyebrow tinting but have not tried those .
