We recently purcahsed a home in Sudden valley in Bellingham Washington. Kimberly Secord was our realtor, part of the Laurie Satushek group at Keller Williams. We had been thinking of moving up to Bellingham for a few years but had to finish our teaching careers in New Mexico first. Kimberly kept us informed via the internet what properties were available for at least 3 years before we actually retired and moved here. We are really happy with the quality of our home at the price we paid for it, kind of amazed really. We wake up in our forest home above Lake Whatcom and are just amazed we actually live here now. I do not know too many folks who keep in touch with people after the sale but Kimberly does. Her group hosted a client gratitude sunset cruise on Bellingham Bay which was a great way to meet folks new to Bellingham. Pies were given to clients on Thanksgiving. I felt like I should have been baking them a pie! I have been looking at properties for what I paid and Kimberly truly found me the best home for the money I could afford. We met Layla Pollack one morning while out looking for a home to buy. At first, we both thought that she was just another person out to looking; we discovered later that this is a Layla thing - knowing what's out there intimately, not solely through a written description. Another realtor happened to be on site, but was showing another couple, so we turned to leave. "I can get us in," offers Layla, so in we go. We walked through, pointing out pros/cons to one another and sharing what we'd really like to see in a home. That home wasn't for us, so as we were leaving, asked Layla for her business card. She didn't have one with her (it was her day off) so we said goodbye, and headed home. After a couple weeks of no success, it occurred to us that the best input we'd received was from "...that woman that helped us get into that house." So we began searching for her (lots of emails required, because we didn't yet know her name - try that). At any rate, we found her. An exceptional experience, having someone that skillful to act as your champion; purchasing a home is the largest investment most of us make, and to have minimal anxieties throughout was a really wonderful, albeit weird, experience. We've referred family to Layla (one other satisfied customer there, so far) as well as several friends. We'll continue to do so, believing that having what one wishes to purchase presented to them or told "It isn't available here now," ought to mean more than what another has to sell from their inventory. Laurie Satushek is a brilliant realtor. She is passionate about her work - this is fun for her! She loves Bellingham and is a knowledgeable resource about the area. As first time homebuyers, we struck gold when we found Laurie. Having fallen in love with Bellingham on vacation, we began daydreaming of a move from Texas. I was living in eastern Washington and needed to relocate to the Skagit Valley due to a job relocation. Jen Glynzinski and her team were amazing. She was more than qualified to handle the very specific type of real estate shopping we were doing - we needed land, we needed zoning, we needed location, etc. - she was undaunted in her efforts even in a very limited inventory situation. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional and as an added bonus, fun to ride around and look at homes with. My partner only cares about the land and a lot of what was available were manufactured homes (not my dream), Jen was adamant that we keep looking and not settle until we found the right fit for BOTH of us. We had an amazing experience working with Layla and Laurie. Laurie began by initial tour of neighborhoods and homes - giving us her honest opinion and then Layla worked with us on the house we loved. There were 3 other competing offers within a day of listing and we were able to get the house in-spite of not putting forward the highest offer. Layla worked with us to put together the proposal package in a matter of hours and helped us with pulling the right offer along with escalation clauses to ensure we had the strongest offer without being the highest. As one would imagine, the seller was a tough one and even after accepting the offer, he changed his mind often in the 30 days that followed to complete the inspection and closing the deal. That made the process stressful for us but Layla helped us throughout in the best capacity she could. She pushed back on the sellers' agent as necessary while ensuring that the deal does not fall through. I think here is where the real 'value' of realtors come in - handling delicate situations which would otherwise break the deal. I would highly recommend both Layla and Laurie. One thing I really appreciated about Laurie was her honesty while sharing here opinions about the houses she showed us cause for one of the house - she told us upfront that we won't be happy there even though it was nice and shiny, because of the location. In retrospect, we are happy we did not go ahead with that house and waited for the one we have now as this one checks off all the points we had in our hopes and dreams list. read more

My wife and I recently purchased a second home/vacation home (future retirement home) in Bellingham. My husband and I were referred to Jen Glyzinski and it's quite possibly the best referral we've ever received. She. Is. Phenomenal. When I was looking to buy the house I was renting, my neighbor recommended Laurie. Though I could have skipped the whole realtor step, I wanted to make sure things were done right. The Bellingham market is tough. The best houses go off the market very quickly. My wife and I started out working with the wrong realtor. He was slow to respond. We had a wonderful experience working with Jen. We were not the easiest of clients, as we didn't care very much about where the house we bought was located, but rather had a long list of criterion we wanted the house, and the area around it, to possess.
