My former employer, Jamilyn Dulin, along with Illisha Collazo, Misty, Maria, and Jamilyn-Dulin Collazo and her wife--all tied to the ownership or operation of Maids and More--has failed to pay us for over a month of work at Verizon, and we are still owed three months of wages for another job in Marion, IL. Throughout this time, Jamilyn has been repeatedly dishonest with her employees, telling us she couldn't pay due to lack of funds--while taking vacations and citing various hospital visits with no valid documentation. Despite all this, we continued working out of professionalism and good faith. When we finally reported these issues to both the Department of Labor and the company she is currently contracted through, Super Clean, we were wrongfully terminated in retaliation for speaking up. Super Clean has since stated they will be pulling her stores, but in case she posts elsewhere or tries to hire more staff under false pretenses, I wanted to speak out and warn others before they get involved. This is about more than missing paychecks--it's about basic respect, accountability, and standing up for what's right. They allowed us to use their dumpster to get rid of some of our junk. And finally, something being stored on our rafters ( that we were unaware of) fell due to the vibration of all the hammering. It made a small hole in our ceiling. This was totally not their fault at all but they took care of it at no extra charge!!! The hole was fixed beautifully within 3 days (only because layered plastering has to dry)!!

The first and most important part of the process is to ensure that you have complete trust in your builder and their team. Your builder is the person who is going to bring your vision, dream and place of security to life. They need to be a good listener, offer suggestions knowing who their audience is and willing to be flexible while keeping the process moving forward. All of this occurred while working with Mr. Chapman, Steve Dossett and Tony Armstrong. We started our build remotely which adds an extra layer of complexity, however we found that out of the 4 homes we have built throughout our lives this was the easiest. Each team member brought to the table an expertise within their own abilities that assisted us with decision making structurally, design wise and adding some extras as the build move forward. We had some specific asks regarding features that we wanted completed before we closed so that when we moved in we would have all the extras we wanted completed. Chris Chapman and his team were very willing to allow us to have our closets organized, our garage floor coated and our fence put in and completed. I have never known any builder to allow this to go on prior to closing. What a blessing. Tony and Steve received many phone calls from us never hesitating to answer our questions, concerns and solving our issues. We met friendly team members along the way like Adyson and Luke as well as all the other players who assisted in creating our dream home. If you are thinking about building a home or even tossing around the idea of downsizing/upsizing your house then working with the Chapman team is the right choice. I would challenge anyone to find another builder that would come close to our experience. You will not be disappointed working with any of the people associated with this company.
