What a fun place to visit! Spent several hours here, found more than we could buy and just really enjoyed the vibe and the sweet shop kitty, Tiger Lily. The owner was lovely and so kind to our son. Can't wait to go back! read more

Expensive junk. Can you cram anymore stuff in a run down place? I was expecting swap meet prices since there is alot of stuff outside in the elements. Not the case. I initially thought American Pickers. But after walking thru the mess and clutter, I realized I was in a hoarder show. Eyesight over-load. Also a customer talking to the employee or owner by the register. Standing in the way. Cramped space and I said excuse me. She gave me a dirty look like I was interrupting her in a top secret meeting with the POTUS. I try to be fair and open minded with these kind of places. This was craziness. Maybe if you're a hillbilly looking for a pricey treasure this is the place for you. Not me. read more

Going to The Second Hand Rose has been some of my favorite junk hunts but the last time I went they had great stuff but have begun asking a fortune. The prices use to be reasonable but not anymore. I'm sad to remove this cool spot as one of my stops when looking for treasures. read more

JAM PACKED floor to ceiling full of junk, I mean antiques! Be ready to set aside anywhere from 2 hours to 2 days to rummage through everything because they make sure of every drawer they have. Everything but the cat is for sale. There's nothing I love more than an antique store that let's you haggle them down hassle-free. I couldn't really find anything I liked, as the prices were too crummy to bother haggling down or the antiques weren't quite my taste. At least the husband-and-wife team are pretty amiable, they even set out cookies like they're expecting house guests! read more

LOVE this place! my new favorite antique store. this place is jam packed with REAL vintage pieces at fair prices, i could spend days in there going through everything! the owners were super nice as well, and the shop cat was adorable. will be making another trip down there to pick up some of those medical books i found! read more

LOVE this shop!! They have everything you can think of. You can spend hours looking and not see everything. My boys even love to come here to treasure hunt! The owners are very sweet and will sometimes offer lower prices. The only down fall is, the building is small and difficult to maneuver around. read more

While I almost never go to Yelm, the Second Hand Rose is a good reason to start making an exception to that rule. This place is jam-packed, inside and outside with a wide variety of antiques -- real stuff, not 1980s "collectibles." Some of the more rare and historic stuff is expensive, but be serious, it's like 100 years old. Those things are probably worth the price tag, just not to me. I have managed to find some delightful mid-century items at very fair prices. The staff is very friendly, and they have good stories - only some of which are about antiques. They always seem to know where next weekend's best antique show is going to be, so if you want to get into the antique show circuit, this can be a good place to start. This is easily one of my favorite stores to wander through. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!! My teenagers LOVE to go there and just look through all the stuff. The prices range from SUPER cheap to maderatly expensive for very antique things but there is so much to look at and something for everyone. It is a bit close quarters and they are only open fri-sunday but we love this place and have found many treasure here! read more

I'll go just about anywhere for a good antique store. The store is so crammed with things that it's always different when you go in. they have a wonderful shop cat and are flexible on the prices. Definitely one of the best antique stores in Western Washington. read more

Lots of cool stuff inside and lots of cool rusty stuff on the outside. I like antique stores but I never seem to buy anything. They have things that are cool but not anything I really need. This place had a lot of fun stuff but it wasn't cheap. We were surprised at some of the prices but we don't really understand the whole antiques scene. I guess if it is "collectable" then they can charge what they want and someone will pay it. The people are nice and I think will negotiate on prices to get a sale. read more

Second Hand Rose is one of my favorite stores EVER. I've found that marked prices are never set in stone, and the owners (some of the coolest people around) will often lower prices without haggling. My wife and I temporarily moved to Los Angeles, and we agreed that this was the first place we wanted to visit upon returning. read more

AMAZING! Best word to describe this place. Owner is super friendly and helpful, willing to make a deal with you! I will go back and refer anyone I can!!! I think the prices are reasonable and quite fair. I purchased a fairly expensive item along with 7 other fairly cheap items, and he gave me a FABULOUS deal on the cheaper things...a total savings of $30.00. I love to save money on things I love and I would recommend this place to anyone who loves to shop for antiques! THEY HAVE EVERYTHING FOR EVERYONE! When we first walked in, all of the bling hit us right off the bat. My boyfriend and I looked over an eclectic mix of jewelry, from precious to semi-precious stones to sterling silver to designer costume pieces. There are several cabinets with small drawers labeled with more items inside. It was like treasure hunting, going through everything in the drawers. Found a watch for $15 in one of the little drawers. Also found a Betsy Johnson gold and diamond skull necklace that was to die for that my boyfriend bought for me and insisted I put on right at the register. The employee was a doll and she offered to wrap the items for us, asking if they were a gift. She also removed the price tags and made sure the watch was set to the proper time. Definitely check this place out if you're looking for some jewelry or other small antiques or estate finds. This is a real gem.

They held onto the dresser for me u til I could return the next day with a different vehicle that would accommodate the dresser. Even though the ladies were older the next day, and the woman who I bought the dresser from told me they could help, they were gracious enough to help me. I paid a reasonable price for these well made items.

Reagan did a beautiful job of getting down to the original oak. She worked with me to choose a stain that would go well with new cabinetry in our home. Some of the old paint deep in the cracks gives it an antiqued look, and it's most definitely an antique, now made like new in the best way. When I dropped off the rocker Reagan said she loved furniture with a story, which my rocker has (To give her a picture of the rocker I sent her a blog post I had written about it: https://biketoworkbarb.blogspot.com/2023/02/the-rocker.html). She went on to add that people bring her antiques they just bought; those are going to get their own stories in the future. She clearly really loves working with furniture.

Went here recently after a ten year absence. It's as good as ever but be aware that the shrubs out front have grown and it's easy to miss it as you drive by. I think it would be impossible to see everything in a day or even a few days. It is literally floor to ceiling packed with narrow "aisles" to get through. Don't take small children as it would be impossible to keep things out of their hands and you may lose the children in the maze! There are some expensive items (unepected things, at least for me because I don't know what things are worth) but lots of affordable things that make you say, "we had one of those when I was growing up" or " I remember my Grandma had one of those" or "what the heck do you suppose this was for?" We found vintage doorknobs and hardware in one series of drawers. There were things so cool you found yourself wondering how you could use them just so you could have an excuse buy them. They seemed to be "rearranging" when we were there. Measuring and moving things around. It made it a little more awkward than normal to browse but they never seem to want to hurry you in the least and they are always willing to tell you what they know about an item. Take a day and stop by. You won't regret it. read more
