Lovely, chilled and non-pretentious café with really good food and coffee. The ricotta pancakes with caramelised banana and ice cream are a must-have: a simple dish executed to perfection in my book of pancakery (i.e. thick, soft and plentiful pancakes, lightly bronzed, soaking up just enough maple syrup to maximise flavour without turning the lightly crispy edges into a soggy mess).
The staff are very welcoming, friendly and service-focused. The *one* time I got a sandwich that was a bit sub-par, they were so apologetic and genuinely humbled. They offered me any dish I wanted to replace it, plus a free drink while I waited.
There was no hint of irritation, hushing-up or any saccharine sorry's: just a genuine apology and conversation about where they felt they'd gone wrong.
I would definitely recommend this café to anyone trawling for smooth coffees and/or delectable dishes in the Glenhuntly area. read more
