The alternative style allows for so much expression and creativity from anyone who comes in. The shop is a little tight in spacing so if you are claustrophobic or covid-weary definitely account for that! There are also stairs in this shop so some people may not be able to access the upper level in the back half of the first floor. My best man drove from Oxford to Canterbury (3 hour drive) to get measured up and they lost the measurements. Finally thinks it's all sorted and awaiting the suits back after measurements for alterations taken. Suits return 8 days before the wedding and 2 of the 5 suits are completely wrong. They managed to mess up the suit measurements and trousers extremely short on one and jacket massive. The other suit just as bad. Had to drive 50mile each way again to try and sort it. Classic, good quality traditional British clothes, with a bit of history, that's warm in the winter. Gloves were surprisingly good value. Good for 40 somethings who like traditional style, with a contemporary feel. Someone did give me a positive comments on the clothes I bought there. Some of these traditional clothes 'make a statement' against junk clothes bought at Primark. They also use fake fur. Nice shortbread biscuits for customers to scoff at the counter. I won't go into it's background as other reviews have already mentioned, just updating that as of September 2023 admission is £17 for adults, free for children under 17, and local students, and discounted 20% for English Heritage members. Audio tours are £5 to rent, guidebooks are £10 for purchase. Hours are Mon-Sat 9AM to 5PM and Sun 11:30AM to 5PM, with last admissions an hour prior to closing. This is a working church so they have services and special events do check their website before you book. Interesting enough the single ticket is valid for 12 months so you may revisit within the year if you would like, I guess that accounts for the higher price of admission compared to some other cathedrals, maybe also bc there are currently renovations being done to the exterior of one of the main towers. The town of Canterbury has a walkable (about a 15 min walk from edge to edge of city center), pedestrian friendly main thoroughfare with lots of shops and restaurants, if there was one thing I wished coming on a brief day trip to a couple places, was that I got a couple more hours to walk around and explore the town, after spending about 45 minutes inside the cathedral itself.

This is a really good shop, one of my favourites in Canterbury. It is a large shop, with lots of…read moreprojects, enthusiastic and friendly staff. I like looking for new and exciting projects to do. A good range of wools, would like to see more local wool from Kent though. And flags with British marks on so they are easy to spot. Can't wait to go back again
