This law firm caused me great misery. I was contacted by Attorney Sherman from a referral I submitted through my company. I was going through a divorce and custody battle. I believed his law firm could help me. He sold me on his ability to represent me. He took my money and assigned me over to a lady I don't even believe was an attorney. I am not bias but she was never married and never had kids, I don't think she can relate to what I was going through. My kid was initially taken from me and it didn't even resonate what that meant to me. At times I thought she was working with my ex wife against me. They received a whole lot of money for the worse experience of my life. I was not able to speak to my attorney when I needed her. We never made it to court and the settlement agreement set me up to fail even though i was awarded custody. This law firm didn't fight for my/men rights, they hung me out to dry while padding their wallet. Handling divorce is not their expertise. Be careful out there. I wish I would have worked with Bill or Valerie but instead they pawned me off to another lawyer who didn't work for the firm but had his own. I didn't agree to hire that lawyer, I wanted to hire Bill or Valerie. The lawyer they pawned me off too has never even met me in person nor is fighting on my behalf to get a court date. He basically just threw in the towel after discovery and didn't even try to find holes in the case such as chain of custody with blood or even talked to the police officer. He claims to have a good relationship with the prosecutors and the DA but I haven't seen any of that. Very disappointed in this whole process. read more

I am shocked by these reviews because my personal experience today couldn't be further from these negative comments! I literally went and verified that this page was for the same firm. I get a few free legal consultations paid for by my employer each year and decided I was actually going to take advantage of the service for once regarding a TCPA issue I was experiencing. The service selected Valerie Sherman for me to speak to and provided me contact info as well as information for billing so it would be free for me (charged to my job). I called the number, and immediately her husband answered the phone. I explained that I was calling through a paid referral and was ready to provide all the info, but Mr. Sherman was so sweet and instead just asked plainly what issue I was facing. I went into detail and he advised that this was unfortunately not an area of expertise for the firm, but asked a few follow-up questions and provided his legal guidance on what he would do in the circumstance. He didn't ask for any of the payment details so he could be compensated for our 20 minute call and he seemed genuinely interested in my issue and how he could help. He even advised that I could likely handle this on my own and helped outline next steps. If I could give negative stars I would. Valerie is biased, untrustworthy, misleading and overall not a good person. She lied during my mediation and acted like a second attorney for the other side rather than being an unbiased party like a GAL is supposed to be. When a person's child life is impacted by a GAL they have a moral obligation to be honest besides the money they're being paid and their professional obligation. Thankfully the other party realized the error in their ways and their side fell through and my child is able to have both parents in their life without taking anyone's rights away. NO THANKS TO her. Definitely read these reviews I spoke with bill in April about my case he lowered the price right away I should have known then. Bill didn't even handle my case Zac proctor did from his firm. And kept telling me he was going to get me a deal and I had so much potential to beating the case. My experience was very bad i paid him a large sum of money and after that he kept saying he was going to take care of what i needed but never did anything after 6 months he still didnt do anything to sove it so i asled for a refund he kept avoiding my calls and told me not to come to the office fast forward 3 years and still the same thing. Bill Sherman is a piece of shit attorney who will take your money and run. you are better off representing yourself. i had a dui pending and i was seeing how much he charged. he wanted $2,350. i told him i talked to another attorney who wanted $1,700. he immediately dropped the price to $1,650. so i went with him,. which i should of known better and knew something was up since he dropped the price that quickly. He didn't try to do anything i asked him to. He doesn't answer the phone or call you back. he will do anything he can to resign and take your money. he resigned after i left a message telling him i don't appreciate him ignoring me and not letting me know anything about my case, so he lied to the judge telling him i cursed him out and threatened him which was a total lie. Used the Sherman Group for my divorce case. They not only left my settlement with A LOT of holes, I was pulled back into court because they said my case needed more even though my ex continued to be in contempt. In addition, they failed to file my counter claim, so my argument could not be heard. I have a new lawyer who let me know The Sherman Law Group likes to keep "career clients". I called the Sherman Law Group on a Thursday and spoke with the receptionist. She said she would have them call me back. I told the gal, if the lawyer couldn't call me back within the hour, then do NOT call me back today. Please have them call back tomorrow. That night, Mr. Sherman called me back at 8:45 PM! He said he was calling because he always calls back within 24 hrs. So he ignored my request. Even though it was my birthday, I still stayed on the line with him. I gave him personal information about myself for about 5 minutes, then he asked me about my legal plan. "Are you going to be paying us some money along with your legal plan/service?" I told him that my plan was 100% covered. He abruptly said, "One of us will call you soon". I asked him what soon meant. He said, "In a couple of days". It's been 11 days and still have not heard back. I knew I wouldn't! Why does he do service with a legal plan if he isn't going to be supporting it? Rude!!! read more

I hired this firm to handle a straight forward simple Chapter 7 bankruptcy case. I was never permitted to talk to the attorney herself. You are only permitted to address and speak to the paralegal handling the case. Most of the time this is fine but for special concerns or questions, I want to know I can speak to and rely on the actual attorney's advice - not their paralegal who I question. I was not even permitted to leave a message for the attorney Valerie by her husband, Bill, who is also an attorney there and Valerie won't return calls or answer the phone. My experience was terrible from the start but they already had my money and it would cost me much more to switch attorneys midway. So I figured how hard can this be? Routine bankruptcy. As we proceeded, the paralegal handling my case used the wrong outdated information that I advised him not to. I caught the mistakes including two debts that he left off that would have cost me over twenty thousand dollars. I had to constantly scrutinize their work and advise him what to do. Following the meeting of the creditors, the only time I was privy to meet with or talk to the attorney, she told me that her office would be in touch regarding an issue in question. I never heard a thing. I asked what happens after the creditor meeting and if i needed to do anything else. I was told nothing further needed to be done and to wait for the Ch 7 to be discharged. It was discharged three months later. Several months after the discharge I found out on my own that neither of the debts I had petitioned and sworn to reaffirm (my house and car) had been reaffirmed. I was never advised by the law firm that this was the case. They were supposed to follow up on this and make sure it was done. I hired them to protect me and ensure all laws and procedures were followed. In addition, they gave me terrible advice (confirmed by several other competent and highly respected established attorneys) regarding one of the debts that would have cost me ten times what they projected and resulted in an unsuccessful outcome had I followed their advice. I contacted the office several times after learning that the debts were not reaffirmed and only once several days later did a paralegal who I had no knowledge of call me back. Neither the attorney nor the paralegal who worked on my case ever contacted me. I explained the urgency of the situation and my grave concern. I told her this was hampering my plans to put a will in place and secure my family and that I had questions. I told her likely I would want to have them reopen the case and correct the problem at no charge since they scrued up and did not do what they were supposed to in the first place which I had already paid them for. Furthermore, this is affecting my credit rating and preventing me from re-establishing it. The paralegal I spoke to said she'd talk to the attorney and call me back within two days. That was nearly two weeks ago. I have called and emailed and have received no response. It is clear that this law firm has no concern for their clients and they seek only to herd them in like cattle. They take your money upfront and you are stuck. They are incompetent, careless, and negligent. They will not respond to your questions or calls and are not willing to step in and clean up their own messes. I highly highly HIGHLY recommend that you do NOT use this law firm. My suggestion is to find a competent and reputable practice or attorney that will care about you and your needs and fulfill their obligations towards you. This is not the law firm to do that and Valerie and Bill Sherman are not the attorneys you want in my opinion. read more
