The play area is now free and has ball pools, big slides and a soft play section for the under 5's. The carvery is also 2 for 1 and is £7.95 for 2 meals so is very cheap. They have turkey, gammon and beef to choose from and an extensive array of vegetables and roast potatoes. Always tastes good whenever I have been and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

I haven't eaten there so can only comment on the bar however when I have been in for drink the food always seems to smell like it's burnt or overcooked and I have heard mixed reviews about the food-the drinks are expensive-over £3 for a pint but it's quite a good pint having usually had the Guiness there. It's now the only real venue to drink in the centre of Broughton now that The Golden Ball is now a restaurant so not good for the locals but there is the local Broughtm Club which seems to be popular with the locals and also The Marriott hotel-also The Black Bull is a very good pub in Fulwood which is only 10 mins in car/taxi down the road.

Just what one expects from a classic English pub. And I think I might have possibly had the most amazing cut of venison I've ever had here and the wine selection made the meal perfection. Our group ordered several main dishes - cod, steak & ale pie, and lamb shoulder. We also ordered way too many starters good grief, but I think the terrine was an absolute dream so it was worth it. Basically you can't go wrong here. Ask for the waiter's suggestion if you're unsure what to order. I'd also suggest coming with a big party since there's a lot of room.
