There's an extensive a la carte menu with a range of daily specials on the blackboard. We had Beef & Ale pie with mash and a Vegetable Madras curry as mains: both good if not spectacular. The building has its origins in the 16th century and according to local repute, William Tyndale (he of Bible translation fame) lived there for a while. It also offers bed and breakfast and Brisley is centrally located in Norfolk making it an ideal base from which to explore the county.

It is high end overpriced for small portions and unspectacular food - at least great quality from regional cultivation (good fish!). To give them fancy names on the menu doesn't help. In the end it took ages to get the bill and then it was nearly impossible to split the bill in different parties. Tidy little restaurant that would seat about 30 - 35 at a guess, a spotless and well maintained toilet for customers, a self serve coffee machine should you fancy that, and a really good selection of all that you would expect from a good high street chip shop. Portion size was large and you were not left feeling that you had been given the throw away small bits of fish as often you are at these seaside places. It is off the beaten track somewhat as I suspect most people head for the bigger towns on the coast rather than these little places. Parking was good too as there is plenty of space all along the sea wall and also a few of those private pay for ones. I'll be going back for certain!
