Chandelier made out of sea shells

I read about this place through Yelp and while walking on East River Street we walked in, no reservations. We were seated right away. We ordered calamari for starters but the batter was way salty. Our server Colin was very nice and understanding and he removed the order from the bill. My husband ordered Shrimp po boy which was delicious and filling and I ordered cobb salad which was big and could feed two people. The place was nicely decorated and busy with customers. I would come back to try other items on the menu

Stopped here to try the oysters! I had tried the prickly pear margarita... sooo good definitely recommend! I also got the oysters Rockefeller and peel and eat shrimp. Both were very good and that butter for the shrimp was AMAZING! Our server was great and I even left with some peach cobbler!! Will definitely have to try this place again!

We got seated immediately which was great with a large party! Our server Desirae was very friendly and super helpful! We got our food quickly. They were out of snow crab which was disappointing. Our food and drinks were good. Nothing great enough to comment on.

We ate here last night while passing through Savannah. I had the raspberry salad and the hush puppy appetizer. Hubs had the fish and chips. Everything was tasty, the hush puppies are AMAZING, and the pricing is affordable. Rustic atmosphere, Destini was our waitress and her timing to check on us was perfect, just enough, not too much. Right along the river where we walked out and did some tourist shopping.

BLACKENED GROUPER FLORENTINE - pan-seared with our housemade blackened seasoning served over yellow rice

I think it is tough to find anything worthwhile on River Street. Service was okay. The food mixed. The BLACKENED GROUPER FLORENTINE Fresh grouper pan-seared with our housemade blackened seasoning served over yellow rice and topped with a buttery sauté of spinach, tomatoes and red onion that I had was very good. Others seemed to be less enthusiastic about their selections. The place feels like it has been there for forever, and it probably has. There was live entertainment near the entrance the night I was there but sitting towards the back you really didn't even know it was there.

They had happy hour from 4-6 it was dollar off beer. The food was delicious predominantly seafood. I had the shrimp po boy and the sauce was bussin. The shrimp and grits was their popular dish and that was delicious too. Nice place to eat if you're by the river. There was only inside seating but they did have a bar

The Shrimp Factory Fast service, old school vibe but unfortunately the food was underwhelming.

The best shrimp and grits on the river hands down. I have been known to drive 6:00 hours to visit the River Walk with this being highest priority. Staff is great, seating is comfortable and welcoming. There is a reason I keep coming back.

Harry the Bartender made an excellent suggestion to the Shrimp and Sausage Creole, add blackened grouper! It was delicious, as was the shrimp cocktail!

Was a cut little place on the river ! Thats the best thing i can say . While visiting Savanah for Theodorable Birthday . We didn't wanna go to Ruth Chris since we have them in Tampa let's do something different ! Decided on this place good reviews after eating here realized they are locals or family's used to this crap ! The few 1 star reviews were the ones that were accurate . Start all out of a lot of speciality items excuses!! settled for twin filet medallions . How can you mess up a steak MR even if over cooked a little ! they did go figure . But the real kicker was the stuffed fresh flounder (speciality) 2 huge mounds of breading very little fishy tasting crab meat and only one of these mounds had a thin strip of flounder on top about 3 oz of fish . Asked server /Bartender . Who did not care about food more interested in slinging drinks !! Deer in headlights run get manager . Asked her if this how it always comes out . Manager was Deer in headlights and got hit on side of road reaction . She looked at me and studderd some excuse . And walked away . No sorry or even that's the way it comes . There are some good restaurants in Savannah Old Pink House . And hate to say it hit the Chains Ruth Chris .. 90% of restaurants in downtown Savanah is about the drinks and not good quality menue ingredients . Was great going to Savanah . But it's touristy and lots of vagrants and pan handlers and the best thing there is the JW MARRIOT its like a museum in inside . Stay away from restaurants on the river

    Cheers

I can't believe I've never been here before as many times as I've been to Savannah. I've walked up and down that street so many times I was definitely craving seafood and I was in for quite the surprise this evening on their menu. They had this pine bark stew. I've never seen that before, and based on the description of it, having fish, scallops, shrimp, potatoes, and more inside of it I knew I had to have it. It came out hot in a cast-iron mini pot along with a garlic bread loaf and this was some good eating. The server was very fun and lighthearted. We enjoyed our experience. The location was very casual with a lead back vibe.

Visiting Savannah for a few days. First stop some seafood. Although we noticed the 3.1 reviews for this place, we opted to give it a chance; glad we did. Food was great & the young man who attends the bar was amazingly friendly & suggested the food we had. The fried seafood basket was very tasty. The items were lightly battered, very crispy & well seasoned. Our daughter had the peel and eat shrimp. Not one shrimp left on that plate (tasty) with a hit of Cajun seasoning. All good size portions. I opted for the seared shrimp and grits. If you're a fan of grits and like shrimp, I highly recommend. The grits were buttery and mega tasty as they add wine sauce. It was served with a good portion of shrimp and all I got to say it was delicious. Will definitely eat here on my next trip.

I was in Savannah for a 5 day stay and I had yet to eat any seafood on my 4th day. My family does not like seafood and it's more of a sacrifice for me to ensure they get to eat what they want. But when they had an early dinner at McDonald's from a long day at the beach, I took the opportunity to head to closest seafood restaurant that had a good menu. My criteria was that I wanted to avoid any heavily fried foods. I made a decision to go to The Shrimp Factory and I left full. Shout-out to my waitress, Taylor, who gave me great recommendations. She said she wasn't a fan of seafood but she has heard feedback from her customers and recommended items that were popular. I settled on the oysters rockefeller, a single low country crab cake, and the shrimp and grits. The oysters were fantastic. Plump oysters topped with bacon, spinach, and Parmesan cheese; it was a symphony of flavors in my mouth. The low country crab cake was lightly breaded, chock full of blue crab meat. Most crab cakes I've had skimped out on the meat and had a bunch of filler. But not this one, you could see ample threads of blue crab meat, seasoned in the seared cake. The shrimp and grits is also recommended. A giant bowl of grits, drowned in garlic butter, topped with nice chunks of seasoned shrimp, ham, and green onions. This was actually my first time having shrimp and grits and I was told by Taylor people usually put hot sauce on top. It's now one of my new favorite dishes! If you're looking for an excellent seafood restaurant with plenty of options that won't break the bank, visit The Shrimp Factory!

The vibe was very cool. The nets on the ceilings, the murals, the subway tile...I really liked it. It was pretty empty when we go there so our party of 7 was seated right away. We were given menus and told to go up to the front to order. Hawk took our order and they were super awesome. Very knowledgable and helpful. I got an oyster po boy with sweet potato fries, my mom and aunt got shrimp salads, my brother and sister got the shrimp tacos, and we got hush puppies, calamari, and a couple of clam chowders to share. (My little cousin got chocolate cake for lunch. That's it. The perks of traveling with your grandparents! LOL) Several of us also got adult beverages...they had a decent selection to chose from. My po boy was really good and the sweet potato fries were excellent. The shrimp salads and tacos were enjoyed as well. The hush puppies and the BUTTER were amazing! I thought the calamari was just a little tough (but not the worst) and the clam chowder was thin...more of a soup. Overall we highly enjoyed our meal and would recommend this place if you would like some fried seafood!

The restaurant was absolutely packed, and it was clear when I ordered the Oysters Rockefeller and asked if the jalapeños could be left off (their version has bacon, cheese, shrimp, kale and jalapeños) it was a "premix". Makes sense for efficiency, but anyone with a dietary or allergy restriction wouldn't have that option. Presentation also had a lack of personal touch. A friend and I each ordered a half dozen oysters, and instead of serving them separately, both orders arrived together on one large platter, but he was seated several people down the table, so we ended up placing the tray in the middle and reaching across. When I asked for another plate to separate them, there seemed to be some confusion and I was simply given an extra small plate instead. Everything was just "okay". One friend ordered the shrimp and grits and really enjoyed it, and the drinks arrived quickly and service was fast in general. Unfortunately, the low point was a friend ordered a half dozen raw oysters, but they didn't arrive until the rest of us had completely finished our meals and were asking for the check. Thankfully he had also ordered a po' boy sandwich, because otherwise he would have been sitting there hungry. To make matters worse, the oysters that finally arrived didn't taste especially fresh, and at $22 for a half dozen, they were hard to justify. Our server was friendly, but throughout the meal she had to be reminded of several items we'd ordered, almost as if we were placing the order a second time. On a positive note, the rooftop bar upstairs was a nice surprise and probably ended up being my favorite part of the visit. Overall, it felt like a restaurant designed for volume and convenience in a tourist-heavy area. Plenty of people seem to enjoy it, and I can see why it's popular. Our experience didn't live up to the hype. If I'm looking for seafood in Savannah, I'll probably explore other options next time. Glad they have covers for the patio when it rains.
