Had a really horrible experience here with what I believe was a manager, who was extremely aggressive towards us.
We were here with a group of people. One person from our group put their jacket over the speaker in the corner where our table was, because the music was extremely loud. I didn't agree with the decision to do this, but he did it very quickly and then went to the bar to get some drinks. 3 of us (all female) were sat at the table when a man comes over, red in the face, pulls two of our tables aggressively out in to the room to get to the speaker, jumps up on a chair and pulls the jacket down. He starts screaming at us that we are "ruining his equipment". We were all quite frightened by the aggressive nature of this man, it was really uncomfortable.
We started trying to explain that someone who was not at the table right now had done that, and that it was because the music was loud, but he just kept screaming that we were ruining his equipment and didn't listen to us at all. I agree that our friend should just have asked for the music to be turned down and not put his jacket over the speaker, but if this manager really believes that a jacket will ruin this speaker, I would be quite frightened to sit under it... That seems like a pretty serious health and safety threat, if that is the case. It was a very silly reason to give, and this man was clearly just very angry for some other reason. We said to him "can you at least turn the music down a bit for us", and he said angrily that we should just have asked him that to begin with. He stormed off without putting our tables back (I asked him if he could please put them back but he didn't listen), they were now just placed randomly in the middle of the room and in the way of anyone who tried to walk past. It left us all quite shook up and wanting to leave immediately, so we left after we'd finished the drinks that our friends brought back.
It was a big shame as we were actually there with a few people who had performed at the O2 that night, and it gave them a really bad experience which ended up reflecting quite badly on all of the O2, not just this particular restaurant. read more
