From my first contact with Emily to the receipt of final photos, she was warm, welcoming and excited to capture our family reunion. There were 23 of us, ranging in age from 7-70. Needless to say, we had a bunch of photo requests - the "elders", the younger adults, the grandkids and every combination of all of the family tree. Upon meeting her, she immediately engaged and helped everyone to relax and enjoy the experience. She was energetic and fun. Emily captured many fun, silly candids along with more "formal" shots of the entire family and family units. She was open to any special requests, recognizing the importance of some very special photos. Our goal was to preserve memories of our time together, Emily understood the assignment. We had the most wonderful experience with Emily/The Small Narrative Photography and came away with the BEST pictures! Emily did a 2.5 hour shoot with us during a family reunion in the Poconos to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday, my daughter's 100 day celebration (a culturally significant milestone), and the arrival of my baby niece. In all, we had four generations of my family, spanning 2 months to 93 years old, four family units, including 4 kids. Emily took over 300 of the most BEAUTIFUL photos of us--as one big family, of each of our family units, and combos of grandparents and grandchildren. With thoughtful prompts, suggestions of poses, and conversation starters, Emily managed to capture the joy, affection, and humor of our family--all in a short and efficient 2.5 hours (a welcome miracle given the number of kiddos we had)! She delivered the photos very promptly (sneak peeks within a week, and 300+ photos within 3 weeks of our shoot). Unlike many photogs that we have shot with, her pricing included all the digitals and had no minimum print requirements--in fact she doesn't print any photos at all, so you take them to be printed yourself by the service of your choice (we loved this). Her fee is also quite the bargain given the superb quality of her photos, the professionalism and responsiveness she displayed, and just the overall great feeling you leave the session with! RUN to book with her--especially before she raises her prices. read more
