Although the duck confit was not my cup of tea, the Ox cheek was amazing! We also decided to order the fish and chips, which came with a side of mashed peas and was delicious! It is a bit pricey if you don't order on the lunch menu, but nonetheless, worth it. The restaurant has a vey comfortable ambiance. It feels very classy, yet has a rustic charm. This is definitely a nice restaurant and bar, with prime location along the harbour. It's worth a visit if your in Ayr!

Four ale taps, other beers on draught and a good range of whiskies etc. You can bring fish & chips in to eat at your table so that was a pleasing innovation. They were out of ice at closing time, but I was ok, as I just ordered a cider. Apparently, again, this wee pub is always packed, and this is where our friends local woman's rugby team hangs out here for nights out. Loads of Guinness signs and memorabilia on the walls, made for a cozy wee place.

I love the history and beauty of the building that this pub/restaurant is located in. The building was built in 1845 as a Free Church. (They closed their doors as a church in 1981) It was part of the Great Disruption of the Church of Scotland. That was a time when over 400 clergy separated from the Church of Scotland to form The Free Church of Scotland. This place is rich in history and is still very beautiful.
