Biscuits and gravy, well done hash browns, eggs over medium.
John M.

Fast friendly service, good sized portions, and decent prices! This is my second time and it was another great experience. The espresso is solid and the food is really tasty. I had the biscuits and gravy, which was pretty peppery, but overall very good. Also really enjoyed the "cry baby Craig's" habanero garlic hot sauce!

Tried this place for the first time and the food was well prepared, the service was attentive. The restaurant has an outdoor patio right in the heart of Canal Park. I had the Friend chicken Bacon Avocado Sandwich is was big and done perfectly. Chicken was juicy and seasoned great. Crunchy breading with thick bacon. It was very good. Husband had the Reuben. It was great. The onion rings were big and crunchy. The sweet potato fries were a bit salty but so so good. We will stop in for breakfast as we heard good reviews.

Western breakfast sandwich (special) and American potatoes

Had a reserved table for 11 for a bachelorette brunch and had a great time! Only negative was the hosts seating a family in the room with us towards the end of our stay when things were even louder than the start after a few drinks. Service was very quick and attentive. Food was really good, breakfast potatoes were very mid though - wouldn't recommend. Bloody was delicious and bottomless mimosas were a good deal if you drank fast! $25 for 90 mins. Would come back for the western sandwich

Avocado toast

Service was good, food came fast. Food was bad avocado is so bad tastes like baby food.

Walleye Tacos

New American restaurant in the same building as adventure zone. Stopped by here since Grandmas line was too long. Very easy to get seating since they closed at 3, and we came on the tail end of lunch rush around 145 or so . All the seating is inside and it shares the restroom with the building. The door is by the parking lot and a little unassuming, but it's in there. Walleye Tacos: good size portion of fish and tasty. The batter is little too crunchy for a delicate fish. Would rather they use something lighter. The slaw has a sweet poppy seed dressing. It's a little drenched, but since it's not thick it'll flow out of the taco which makes it a little sloppy. Onion rings are decent. Overall a nice place to take a break out the sun and still enjoy canal area.

Small Breakfast burrito

I wasn't expecting to pay $15 for a small breakfast burrito, but that is what I received. I did ask for the sauce on the side, and I added hollandaise sauce. I ordered to go, not sure if that had anything to do with the size but the ingredients were lacking and should not have been. Most of the photos and plates look great from this place usually.

Candied pecan pancakes

Great food, really great customer service! Highly recommend Social House for a breakfast stop!

Quick service, we stopped in for some espresso and a small bite and what we ordered was perfect and delicious. Interior is industrial with high ceilings.

One of my top places to go for brunch. The breakfast burrito is my go too. As well as their Carmel rolls.

Excellent food and service. The cinnamon rolls are delicious. They're a busy place but the turnover rate is quick.

I started with the Tempura Fried Cauliflower appetizer, which ended up being my favorite dish of the night! You can choose between sambal aioli or crabapple BBQ sauce -- I had the aioli drizzled on top and the crabapple sauce on the side, and it was amazing. I'm not usually into autumn spice flavors, but the crabapple sauce was subtle, slightly smoky, and paired beautifully with the crispy cauliflower. For my entrée, I had the Coconut Curry Bowl. It was flavorful and hearty, though a bit strong and salty for my personal taste. They also offer a kids' menu with generous portions (I've included a photo for reference -- grilled chicken, fries, and veggies). Overall, great vibes, friendly service, and a wonderful cause. We loved supporting a non-profit restaurant dedicated to the arts and community development!

Everything was presented beautifully. The prices are quite high and the menu is very Scandinavian. If you're not a seafood fan, the choices are limited. The service was the biggest challenge. We had a reservation for 6 at 7:45. When we arrived, the host told us the party before us was still at the table an hour after getting their bill. We wound up waiting 25 minutes to be seated. No concessions were offered for the wait. We ordered drinks (a soda and a lemonade) and it took another 20 minutes to get them. When the drinks arrived at 8:35, we ordered. It took almost 40 minutes for the food to arrive. Again - we ordered four sandwiches and two appetizers. Because we were seated so late, the restaurant was clearing out - I can't imagine how long the wait is when it's busy. Our server was an infrequent guest at our party. I might come back just to have that lobster roll again, but nothing else was so outstanding that it would be worth the trip.

The Details: For those of you who know me, you know I take a Bar B Que review seriously. So here goes! The Service was outstanding! Admittedly, people are nice in Duluth, but Sarah F went above and beyond. We should have been a terrible table for her... two dudes, a little girl, and a dog. However, she was gracious and patient, right from the start. When we treated her well and started talking BBQ, she brought out the team. Thank you to the front manager Sam who chatted us up. A special thank you to pitmaster Josh and Sean who rolled up their sleeves and talked Turkey.... Literally!!! The ambiance is perfect! Shaded outdoor space during the day was a huge plus! It was perfect! On to the food.... This is a traditional Southern Pride propane/wood smoked BBQ. I am personally not a fan of these smokers, but OMC did well. I found the St louis ribs to be the best cook of them all, with perfect tenderness. The brisket has solid seasoning with plenty pepper. The poblano corn was a fun side! Overall, a great little find in Duluth.

We came across Silos and figured it looked like a great spot to try. Parking wasn't terrible, but since the lot is shared by several nearby businesses, it was tough to find a good spot on a weekend. Once we parked and walked in, we were seated fairly quickly, which was a plus. That said, it did take a while before our server even acknowledged us. By the time he came over, we had been sitting for quite a bit, so we went ahead and ordered everything right away. My wife and I ordered the walleye cakes and a few drinks. When the drinks came out, my wife's Diet Pepsi was missing, so I had to ask our server to get it. For dinner, I ordered the Norwegian salmon with lemon pepper green beans and garlic mashed potatoes which was a wonderful combination. My wife had the seafood pasta, but it wasn't quite what the menu described. Not sure if there was a new chef or if something changed in the kitchen. Overall, it wasn't a bad first visit. There were some bumps, but the location is great--right off Lake Superior with outdoor seating and a beautiful view. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, the menu has solid options, and when the food is prepared right, it's full of flavor. The drinks were also really good, even the virgin margarita was a smash hit. A few things could definitely be improved: service felt slow even though it wasn't very busy, and there wasn't any welcome or smiles when we arrived, just kind of routine. Parking can be tough, and if you have mobility issues, even the short walk from out front could be a bit much. That said, we're open to giving it another try. There are other items on the menu we're curious to try, and we visit Duluth at least once or twice a year so hopefully next time, the service will step up and this place can become one of our go-to spots.

This is the second time I have eaten here. The first time was just as good.

I can wax poetic about wandering around the building but, that can be for another time. The brewhouse is a cool place to hang after you've become weary of hitting all the shops on Canal street. Nestled in the old brewery you will experience first and foremost some solid beers (take some crowlers home with you), and some decent food. I think we at lunch here three times? I think one kind of gets tricked into eating here. One starts with a couple beers, then an appetizer, and the next thing you know, you're onto an entree without giving it a second thought. Honestly, I don't think I had anything or tasted anything that was bad. My favorites here are: 1. Poutine: fries, cheese curds, bacon and gravy? that is always a winner. 2. Elote Dip is super good. I'd fight somebody for the last scoop of the dip. 3. the Pretzels are good. Love the cheese sauce....I would ask for mustard too, but that is just me. 4. Pimento Cheeseburger is a favorite like the little bit of kick it offers with the Jalapenos, and it was made medium rare for me to boot I did try a bit of the Wild Rice burger. It was OK, non-meat options are not my gig for a burger. the person who ordered this, truly enjoyed it. I also want to mention the their beer is fresh, well-made, and there is usually a taproom only beer available. I have missed it the last few years but, they had a barleywine that was outstanding. I hope that comes back. If you're in Duluth it is totally worth the stop. Eat some food, drink some beers, buy some merch and support this local treasure.
