Came in with a USB drive to have files printed for a workbook I need 8 copies of. At least a $200…read moreto $300 project. In the past someone helped me & it was done seamlessly. Today, excuses about the files being in Word and PowerPoint format not being identical and was taken to a screen for a video chat. The person couldn't access my files through the system, so was left abandoned. How can you do business like this??? I left feeling like I'm stupid and wasting their time. Bey bey Staples!

Why on earth I'd bother reviewing a chain stationery store is rooted in the horrific customer…read moreexperience I have every time I walk in the doors. I only ever go to Staples because (a) I need something specific, and (b) no one else in Hub Town sells it at their price that I know of. I've bought a netbook, PC tablet, printwork, projector screen, and sundry stationery items from this joint. None by choice. With every visit I've needed to engage their staff for help, and never EVER have any (but one) of them been able to assist. Their responses have ranged from "I don't know" to "can you come back later" and even "heavens, we don't keep that in stock." Sale items I've gone for have never been there. The one ray of sunshine is a fantastic fellow who has helped me with electronics. Having retired from a professional career, he took on a job with Staples for kicks and giggles. He is smart, articulate, and truly interested in helping a customer. I am a service manager myself, so I tend to actually be quite forgiving when it comes to service. Goodness knows it's not always an easy role to be in. However, it's just unacceptable when a store has "that was easy" as their tag line when the local staff make it quite the opposite. From now on, I check first with the independent stationers, and if they don't have it I pick it up in Halifax. Avoid Staples!

I'd had G&G Computers install my wi-fi systems from the very beginning. The wi-fi they installed…read morewas somewhat adequate, as it worked for most of my guests most of the time. However, I'd still get wi-fi complaints on an almost daily basis, mainly about not being able to connect or being bumped off. Truro is basically a one-horse-town when it comes to computer tech suppliers, and I figured that if this was the best G&G Computers could make it, then that's the best I could hope for. Boy, was I wrong! Things finally came to a head and I decided to take matters into my own hands and research various wi-fi hardware suppliers. Based on reviews and online support, I ordered an Ubiquiti Networks system (www.ubnt.com). It's the best thing I ever did! You don't have to be a computer whiz to set up this system; very little esoteric tech knowledge was required on my part. The physical installation of the access point was a breeze and was done in 15 minutes. Once I entered a few basic parameters into the Ubiquiti AirOS control panel, it was off and running, working perfectly and solidly to this very day, with no downtime, and without having to "reboot the antennas" (as I had to do repeatedly with my G&G system). Complaints about my wi-fi are now a thing of the past! In fact, I've had guests say to me, "What did you do to the wi-fi? It's so much better now!" Let me tell you, I was happy to hear those words! If you're the least bit handy, I'd recommend setting up your own Ubiquiti wi-fi system. I did and I saved hundreds of dollars, perhaps even thousands! Mine is a commercial application which serves as many as sixty devices, so don't let the scale of your project scare you. Ubiquiti won't let you down! I wish I had known about Ubiquiti Networks years ago, as it would have saved me a tremendous amount of aggravation, but hey, better late than never. I know, this sounds like a paid endorsement for Ubiquiti Networks, but I assure you, I have received no compensation from them. I'm simply so happy and impressed with their products that I want to spread the word. If you have any questions about my Ubiquiti setup, please contact me anytime and you can drop by and see it for yourself! I can point you in the right direction. * Ubiquiti products are available on https://fleetnetwork.ca * Ubiquiti community user forums are located at 'https://community.ubnt.com/t5/custom/page/page-id/Forums'
